Congrats Fairy Smile

Hi Everyone, may I join you all? I am on and off diets but recently I hurt my foot and the weights been piling back on.
I need to lose 4 stone ideally but might do one at a time.
I'm trying to use Lose it. Like mfp. I have realised I eat too much. I comfort/boredom eat.

aurorie11 · 28/11/2016 12:37

Hi Stellar, welcome

LaundryFairy · 28/11/2016 19:28

Hi Stellar, welcome! I have been a regular comfort / boredom eater too. I've taken the three sensible meals with no snacking approach. I find it has really helped me to just say that I don't snack between meals as it removes temptation to snack on rubbish food.

Stellar67 · 28/11/2016 20:10

Thank you.
Today has gone well. I do like fruit so I've snacked on that.

aurorie11 · 03/12/2016 09:28

0.5lb down this week. Can't understand it as been 1000 calories down a day.

LaundryFairy · 03/12/2016 14:16

Hi Aurorie - well done for the 1/2 pound down. I wonder if it is linked to you getting fitter, so your body isn't using as much energy to do the same exercise as it did before. Aparantly it's quite common for your rate of weight loss to slow as you get fitter - maybe you could try a change to your exercise plan?

aurorie11 · 03/12/2016 19:00

Hi Fairy, I've got a fitbit and have reduced my calorie burn rate down as I loose weight. I don't really have the time to exercise other than trying to walk as much as possible averaging over 15k steps a day. One day in the last week walked 9.8 miles

LaundryFairy · 03/12/2016 20:31

Sounds like you've accounted for changing fitness and I'm dead impressed with how much walking you do! I guess our bodies don't always run as expected, which also accounts for the weeks when we inexplicably loose more weight that we'd think possible.

Rogeliodelavega · 03/12/2016 20:35

Hello, as you can tell by my name I am not a mum but a dad. Sorry if I'm not allowed here lol. So my dw suggested I join mum's net, as I want to lose weight and could really do with some support and help. I'm not fat but a bit podgy. But at 6ft 5 I guess I pull it off well. I'm looking at doing the 30 day shred and was wondering if any of you ladies had tried it and what were ur results if u don't mind me asking

LaundryFairy · 04/12/2016 17:34

Hi Rogeliodelavega - welcome to Mumsnet! If you have a look for the Exercise topic, there is a thread there for people interested in doing the 30 day shred and giving each other support.

LaundryFairy · 04/12/2016 17:38

Hi aurorie. Well. I'm not down anything this week, and there's no great mystery - I've had a few large meals this past week and so I'm basically glad that I haven't gained anything. It's still slightly disappointing, but I guess there will be weeks like this along the way (Christmas comes to mind...) and I can't let it get me too distracted or dejected as I still have a long way to go.

aurorie11 · 04/12/2016 20:24

Good luck Fairy Smile

Congrats Mercury Flowers

aurorie11 · 10/12/2016 07:22

2.5lbs down. Now 11.4 so overweight not obese! Total loss 38lbs, 32 to go

LaundryFairy · 11/12/2016 12:38

Well, after no change last week I'm 3.5 lbs down this week, so that's slightly odd, but nice.

Congratulations on reaching that point, aurorie! I was just looking at the same info on the NHS website today, and I need to loose another 11 pounds to no longer be 'obese'. Hopefully Christmas won't set me back too much and I'll be there before the end of January.

aurorie11 · 11/12/2016 14:56

Congrats Fairy, hopefully Christmas won't be a disaster

aurorie11 · 17/12/2016 11:10

2lbs this week, so 40lbs in total down, 30 to go!
Thought it may had been less than 2 as weighed less than 12 hours after a 3 course Xmas meal.
If I can loose 2lbs this week, it will be 3 stone in total, and 3lbs means the weight starts with a 10

LaundryFairy · 18/12/2016 11:18

Well done aurorie - you are well over half way there! My scales tell me I'm down 4.5 pounds this week - wonderful news if they are right, but given that I haven't done anything different at all this past week, I do wonder how accurate they are... Overall, that means I lost 4 stone now and I would like to loose at lease 2 more. After that, I'll see how I'm feeling and looking and whether I want to carry on to be in official NHS ideal weight range or not.

LaundryFairy · 18/12/2016 11:18

Sorry about the typos - bloody autocorrect!

aurorie11 · 18/12/2016 17:27

Congrats Fairy, 4 stone is amazing! Have many people noticed? My problem now is my clothes are too big, but trying to avoid buying many until I get close to target, for the first time in years I'm enjoying browsing in clothes shops Smile

LaundryFairy · 18/12/2016 19:52

Thanks. Yes, lots of people are noticing and commenting. I honestly find it a bit strange and hard to handle and I'm much happier if people just leave it at 'you look well' rather than grilling me about how much I've lost and how I've gone about it. One neighbour said how great I looked, and then quickly started digging herself into a hole by saying how i looked good before too... but now I looked better!
I know what you mean about clothes. The one thing I've kept buying as I've lost weight is proper fitting trousers, as I hate having ones that are falling off me. I've gone for cheap / on sale where possible, but i did buy myself a rather nice new top to wear at Christmas, as well as a wrap dress that will fit well for awhile. I'm still looking forward to loosing more so that I can really enjoy some lovely new clothes when I'm done (hopefully just in time for my 50th birthday!)

aurorie11 · 24/12/2016 21:52

Maintained this week, but with the amount of eating out and entertaining this week, pleased with that.
When I started 17 weeks ago, would have been pleased with 2 stones, but have lost 2 stone 12 lbs.
Onwards to loose the final 30lbs next year Smile
Good luck everybody

LaundryFairy · 25/12/2016 19:40

I'm away this week, so not sure how things are going - will have to see next Sunday when I get back. I'd be very happy to maintain like you, aurorie. Hope you have a lovely holiday!

Juliehelsby1969 · 27/12/2016 20:23

Can I join please, I'm out of control at the moment and can't see a way forward. Need help

aurorie11 · 30/12/2016 21:39

Hi Julie, welcome Smile
