Who's up for the 7lbs in September challenge?

ponygirlcurtis · 01/09/2016 08:32

Following on from June, July and August's threads, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.
(Posting as Rshard is still on holiday - hope you had a great time!)

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

My starting weight for September is 11st 5.25lbs. (I actually ended yesterday at 6.5lbs but the scales have jumped down again so I am having it!). That means I lost 5lbs in August. I found having this thread helped my focus and determination, if it helps anyone else, fantastic! Smile

Good luck everyone!

Thank you DIT

Rshard · 13/09/2016 11:12

Sorry to hear about your brother hello, very sad.

I'm feeling more in the zone today, am happily ignoring the vast quantities of chocolate, cake and biscuits that are in the office today.

Hope everyone else is having a great day

Helloheyhi · 13/09/2016 11:54

Thank you Rshard
Stay in the zone and away from the goodies!
Ugh I have already had a packet of crisp and eyeing up the next one Blush

Have a good day everyone

QuimReaper · 13/09/2016 11:58

Just about to tuck into a smoked haddock fillet, poached egg and pile of wilted spinach. Had forgotten all about this meal, it was a favourite diet staple of mine! Highly recommended.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/09/2016 12:28

I'm having soup. I made it when it was cooler. Not such a great idea now it's high 20s here

DoinItFine · 13/09/2016 12:36

I made soup yesterday, and it was lovely.

It's not that hot where I am though.

Just got steak for dinner.

QuimReaper · 13/09/2016 12:37

BOOP Hottest September day in 50 years apparently!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 13/09/2016 12:57

I've had quinoa and farro with cherry tomatoes, sugar snap peas, grated carrot, avocado and flaked almonds and a crazy bright green dressing. Become a lunchtime staple and is really tasty but I am so fed up of prepping lunch the night before. So much easier to buy a sandwich chips from the canteen

Dyrne · 13/09/2016 13:06

Hello so sorry to hear about your brother. My Dad has type 2 and it really does make me worry about him - especially now he's on insulin due to his continuing poor diet. I was going to suggest the BSD to him but i'm not able to be around enough to help him with it.

Heffalump surviving a visit from the in laws definitely deserves a treat. Hopefully you're back In the wagon today!

Rshard office treats are the worst, aren't they? I used to work in an office filled with super sporty people - triathletes, mega cyclists etc. As a result they'd swan around scoffing cake because they knew they'd burn it off, whereas I used to eat just as much but never used to do the needed exercise!

Agree it's bloody warm - nearly melted doing my lunchtime walk! Am fully expecting DP to suggest a BBQ for dinner so i'm re-working my calorie plan for today accordingly. DoinIt you have me craving steak now...

DoinItFine · 13/09/2016 13:16

What is farro?

That salad sounds absolutely delicious, Ginger.

Dyrne - steak is ideal to have if you are doing the barbecue! :)

Helloheyhi · 13/09/2016 13:24

Thank you Dyrne it's a real worry isn't it? My dad is also diabetic and won't listen at all so I get what you mean. Maybe send your dad the book and he might get tempted to try it out? All you can do is be there and support him I guess Sad
Enjoy the BBQ, lots of grilled meat and salad yum yum.

Everyones' lunches sounds lush. I had mince and aubergine with some salad will forget about the crisps and seaweed

DIT farro is a type of grain, similar in texture to rice.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/09/2016 13:34

It's not soup weather here

Weather lovely here too. Just commented to my DH that it's lovely to wear a dress in the heat and not get then dreaded chub rub!

Someone has now put out some shortbread! For the love of God!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 13/09/2016 16:33

Surely that's a grievance right there Rshatd?!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 13/09/2016 16:34

Farro is a bit like pearl barley but very high in protein. Found mention of it on an American food blog and assumed it wouldn't be available here but our tesco had it in the pulses section!

Rshard · 13/09/2016 16:51

Too right ginger! I'm home now, away from it all.

DoinItFine · 13/09/2016 16:53

Thanks for the farro info.

Fascinating.

I thought quinoa was the only grain with protein.

Must try it out. I love a bobbly grain.

FrameyMcFrame · 13/09/2016 17:10

Farro sounds good, must give it a try.
Had Chicken tikka and a pack of raspberries for lunch. I'm finding fizzy water quite good for food cravings, especially in this heat.

MsHeffalump · 13/09/2016 17:36

I am indeed back on the wagon, Dyrne. One day off sounds like one of those mythical normal person things to do, so no guilt. And I walked both to and from college today (and in between spent six hours in the only computer room in the building that doesn't have air conditioning). I think I might actually be melting.

It's not shortbread weather either - it ought to be dipped in hot chocolate and it's far too hot for that!

ponygirlcurtis · 13/09/2016 20:30

So sorry about your brother, Hello.

I have made Slimming World pulled pork in my slow cooker, and made Slimming World spicy coleslaw to go with. (I am not doing SW, just really like these recipes.)

I'm just back from the gym. Not had dinner yet ( catalogue of errors with teen dd demanding lifts at worst Isobel moments Angry) but I've run for 25 minutes and am enough within my allowance to have a glass of red

HollyBollyBooBoo · 14/09/2016 06:09

3.5lbs down - woo hoo! Very chuffed and have gone into the stone below on the scales if you see what I mean which is always nice. Still a looong way to go.

Rshard · 14/09/2016 06:34

Your pulled pork and slaw sound lush pony!

Yay for slotting in some exercise bit, I fitted in a run whilst DD was in the shower last night.

That's awesome holly, I love moving down to the next number!

BitOutOfPractice · 14/09/2016 06:57

Well done Holly. I am teetering at 0.2lbs above a new stone marker. Determined to get there this week

Rsard that's what I call good use of every available moment!
