Just read a fab long one from 05 - with puff, snowball, cam etc etc on and wondered if there was a more recent thread like that running? If not can this be it?

I joined the gym this week and have been twice this week and going again tomorrow.

Finding it hard going but hoping for it to improve as my fitness does but Im really enjoying it!

Im aiming on losing a cuople of pounds by March and toning up for weddings in April and June!

after 3 months of an hour 3 times a week (with one or two sessions mising at Christmas I can hardly see any benefit. I've lost no weight - despite eating less. My clothes are just as tight, I don't really feel any fitter (haven't been able to up the intensity of my workout much) and I am getting pretty disheartened.

I do some stretches for a few minutes, 5 minutes on the treadmill to help warm up, about 15 minutes rowing, 10 minutes cross-trainer and about 20 minutes weights. My heart rate gets pretty high so I think I'm working about as hard as I can. Any suggestions?

Can I join in ?
I'm doing slimming world at the moment but my losses aren't great each week so i'm trying to up my exercise.
So far this week I did
Monday - 40 mins (550 cal) on xtrainer
Tuesday - 35 mins (500 cal) x trainer and 20 mins on the vibrating fit plate.

Am booked in for a 45 min spinning class tomorrow.

Tatt - i've not read the whole thread but could you do some classes rather than cardio & weights. I don't push myself as hard when i'm on my own compared to when I do a spinning class. I need to be yelled at!

if I worked any harder I think I'd be having a heart attack, because my heart rate already goes beyond the target rate. I don't think I'm fit enough for classes yet!

sorry about double post. This is an old thread I've revived because a quick search didn't throw up anything more suitable.

thanks. After checking some websites I've discovered the best target heart rate for fat burning and I should be working less intensively. So I will be able to go on for longer.

Tatt - what's the best heart rate for weight loss ?

I don't think I am working efficiently enough at the gym.
