Just read a fab long one from 05 - with puff, snowball, cam etc etc on and wondered if there was a more recent thread like that running? If not can this be it?

I joined the gym this week and have been twice this week and going again tomorrow.

Finding it hard going but hoping for it to improve as my fitness does but Im really enjoying it!

Im aiming on losing a cuople of pounds by March and toning up for weddings in April and June!

how is everyones training coming along?
i may not have been to the gym but had a healthy tea which was ham salad (apart from the dollops of mayo!) followed by blueberries and marscapone cheese, yummy!!! of course tonight i am having lasagna as having dinner at my ex boyf mums house! he does not even know!

2nervesleft · 08/02/2007 11:31

I have seriously fallen by the wayside this week.
Only went to the Gym Mon as ds has been poorly since and I can't put him in the creche. There is no reason why I have been stuffing my face though. I will be really sorry tomorrow when I weigh.

It just get so hard to keep going sometimes doesn't it?

MuckyAnthea · 08/02/2007 11:43

Apart from the gym yesterday, and a long walk on Monday, I have not kept up my routine. Today the weather was awful, so it made sense to stay in and just accept this week was a bad week for exercise, but it does not mean I cannot get back on track next week!

Eating wise I guess I have not been too bad, but I did go out last night and drank beer and sake, so will probably compensate for that this week on the scales.

Pecka, I use this machine that is like the cross trainer without the arm levers. Its really hard work on your legs and gets you sweating.

Bethoo - hope you enjoy your lasagne!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 08/02/2007 12:13

I did Davina workout yesterday when I got in from dropping mindee off and had a healthy tea.

Going to do Davina again today then go to the gym in the morning.

Should be going to gym on saturday too with DH if we can get someone to have the kids then going to rest on Sunday!!

I really recommend the Davina DVD its great.

Went to the gym this morning. Cycled there and back, did a 15 minute run on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the cross trainer, really went for it on that today, and got the resistance up, then did some weights, then shower and home. Would have stayed longer, but have a lot to do at home. Still, was in the gym for an hour, plus the cycling, so not too bad.

I have been eating sensibly, cutting out all crap, and choosing low fat/low cal options, and I think I've lost a few pounds.

2nervesleft · 09/02/2007 20:27

Everyone is doing really well!

Can you believe last week I went to the gym nearly everyday and ate within my 18 points and put on 1lb. This week have been to gym once and eaten whatever I liked and lost that 1lb? WTF?? Think the scales in our Boots is dodgy.
Will get back on track next week when ds is better. Promise.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 10/02/2007 10:53

Im getting a bit despondant.

Ive put in serious effort doing lots of exercise for 4 weeks now and have cut right back on food intake yet have barely lost a pound!

I know that in the past on weight watchers with doing ZERO exercise I would have lost best part of a stone in this time

HELP!!

OP posts:
MummyPenguin · 10/02/2007 20:50

It can be disheartening, can't it?

I've had a 'bad food' day today. Have had an apple turnover, a muffin, a McDonalds, and a creme egg and a bag of wotsits and a few minstrels!!! Oh dear. However, I think it's not too bad an idea to have one day a week where you relax the diet, and eat what you like, then you don't feel you're missing out completely. I tend to find a Saturday is a 'bad food day' for me. Maybe because the kids aren't at school, and you're not so in routine, and possibly after abstaining all week, the cravings eventually get the better of you! Sundays I try to reduce my food intake as some kind of damage limitation!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 10/02/2007 23:26

Ive been to the gym tonight.

Did 33 minutes on the cross trainer, Abs work with situps and upper and lower body weights.

WHEN WILL MY WEIGHT GO DOWN GODDAMIT!

Hi all,

Hope you don't mind me joining here as well, haven't been that great this week. I try and aim to go x3 each week but have only managed twice this week.

Tues - 1 hour aerobics
Sat - 1 hour aerobics

Hoping to be abit better this week coming, we're getting a puppy next weekend so that will definately increase my exercise.

Marls001 · 12/02/2007 03:17

If there will be more like Mucky's post then I definitely want to join too

Am already on the
"gym buddies" thread; followed into it from the "we want to lose 10 pounds" thread.

Missed Family Gym Day yesterday (that's every Sat. in our family) ... but managed to fit in a 3.5 mile run today. It felt REALLY good to go.

Have a 5-month old - that's why my overwhelming desire to get fitter/lose weight - BUT I swear I'm not on MN at 3:15 am! I'm in the US.

MuckyAnthea · 12/02/2007 08:17

After two weeks of faliing off the wagon, I am back on track. Went to the gym, and have started running!! the bupa website way. I am on the first week of the plan, I feel I can do more, but I am sticking to what Bupa advise. Also did the usual cross trainer session and bike.

Marls what do you mean re - muckys post?
Am I a bad influence or something???

I am joining the gym buddies thread now, but shall remain loyal to this thread too.

MummyPenguin · 12/02/2007 11:59

Is there a link to the BUPA website? If not, what's the address? I'd like to have a look at the running advice. Meantime, I'll see if I can find it.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 12/02/2007 13:38

Im thinking of starting running outdoors using the BUPA advice - do you run outdoors or on a treadmill?

Just means I can just stick trainers on and run and cut out the time needed to travel to gym etc

I like the new thread - shall we all just go over to that one or keep this one up as well?

Mucky, quite the opposite: "Go Go Go Go Go Go!! You will feel so much better afterwards for doing it, and then you can write on here and tell us what you did. So go on - Get to the gym NOW!!!"
LOVE that. Love it!

MuckyAnthea · 13/02/2007 07:40

Thanks Marls!!!
Have you been to the gym yet then - have you?????? go go go gogog og ogo gogog goooooo!!! Believe in yourselfffff, never give up!!!! feel the burn baby burnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!

Today I went for a swim, only did 50 lengths because I was dieing for a wee, but my god I feel it now. I think starting the running yesterday has kicked started something in my body, I now feel like I have been working out. Lets see if I start to lose weight now finally!!!

Mummypenguin - this is the link to the bupa running website - www.bupa.co.uk/health_information/html/healthy_living/lifestyle/exercise/running/beginner/programme.html

Its an 8 week training programme, and is really really good!!!

Pecka - I don't mind posting on two threads to do with exercise, this one has become like an online exercise diary for me, but its your thread, so up to you

PeckaRolloverAgain · 13/02/2007 10:00

Hey its not my thread its OUR thread :D

I did Davina Power of 3 last night all the way through insted of doing the sections and my god I found it harder than the 3 30 minute workouts.

The legs section REALLY works your legs and bum with loads and loads of squats and lunges.

I wont make the gym today because getting my hair done this morning so have arranged with DH we will do some weights tonight.

I have got quite big biceps now! Im hoping I dont look like Arnie!

OP posts:
Marls001 · 14/02/2007 03:41

Mucky - very LOL! Did go & had a great workout today!! Thanks!!

Marls001 · 14/02/2007 03:47

Pecka - Think Kelly Ripa ... not Arnie!

MuckyAnthea · 18/02/2007 04:28

Hello original exercise thread.
I have posted my recent exercise dramas on the other thread by Lorns. Hello to all!
Lets get physical

april74 · 18/02/2007 07:57

Can I join?

I joined my first gym this year and I usually try to go 3/4 times a week.

I dont yet manage to look at the time I am on the equipment, I just go on what cals I have burnt up, U usually do 150 cals on the cross trainer, 150 on the treadmill and 100 on the bike.

I then 2 times a week do a set of all he different weights.

weight loss is slower than a diet without exercising, but the inches are flying off and I feel so much fitter.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 24/02/2007 09:13

Hey everyone and welcome April, sorry your post went ignored!

You sound like your doing great burning 450 calories through cardio on each visit is great!

Shall we stick to the other exercise thread as this one seems to have fallen by the wayside?

It is called Exercise buddies or something.

Let me know if you cant find it and I will link to it!

hi everyone and i see many new people.
well i had baby on 26 feb and only took 6 pushes in 10 mins to get him out and i put it all down to my fitness b4 hand and defo the hundreds of sit ups i did.
my only calorie burning is breast feeding which i hear uses about 300 cals and it has also helped my tummy return almost to normal.
intend to get back into training as soon as poss. feels great runninh as due to heavy bump it was awkward and i had people telling me i should not run!!

MuckyAnthea · 05/03/2007 23:49

Congratulation! Bethoo!! I was wondering about you. What did you have a boy or girl? I really admired your exercise regime when pregnant, and am so pleased your hard work paid off.

By the way, a lot of us are now posting on the other exercise thread, I will post a link to it. Come and join us all there!
