Morning all.
I ma back from birthday and half term and lots of cake and alcohol.Braved the scales and it's 7lbs of damage, starting sugar free again and hoping to lose that in the next 2 weeks. Then hope to lose another 7lbs in March. & lbs in April and 7 lbs but the end of the year. Feeling motivated. I've been thinking about my relationship with food and it needs to change, I especially don't want DD to pick up on my bad habits. I am realising more and more that it's got to be a lifestyle change.
Green I'm outraged re that woman, people are so flippin rude. My mum always used to comment re my weight and my step sister too, I was/am always a bit on edge when seeing them. Complex family dynamics....
Sorry you are feeling down, could you be peri menopausal? Hormones are so awful, it's horrible feeling irrational.I think I might still look into CBT or at least read a book on mindfullness or something. Shallw e read one at the same time? (no worries if you don't want to, might spur us on though!). But I do think weight issues really can overtake our lives. Being a bit chubby doesn't mean we are worthless or less valuable, be kind to yourself.
Picking: I am going to out the leftovers straight in the food bin.
How are you finding slimming world Sol ? I agree about the processed food, I can't imagine eating all those muller lights is very good for you? (a girl in the office was doing and she used to stuff them down, mind you she lost a lb a week). How did you get on with your busy week? Super well done on your 4lbs - excellent work. Know what you mean re looking at old photos (am equally sure you are being hard on yourself). We could start a grooming programme?
Rachy I hope you don't mind me saying this but I have a different opinion re the surgery. Personally I wouldn't do it, the risks of surgery would be too much despite the psychological benefits (although I am sure you have probably been given low risks but it will be minimum 1% for risk of GA, bleeding & Infection, probably more?). A good friend had similar surgery and was off work for 3 months with complications. She has since put weight back on and so all the surgery was pointless. Obviously complications are rare but is it worth the risk? I probably have a different perspective due to my job. But really I would only advocate surgery when there is absolutely no other option and if there is a medical need.
I hope you don't mind me posting this and I don't want to upset you in anyway. Do you think there's no way exercise will improve things?
Could you learn to live with a bit of a tummy?
I am sure you'll make the right decision for you x
