Weight loss chat

A space to talk openly about weight loss journeys and challenges. Mumsnet hasn't checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. You may wish to speak to a medical professional before starting any diet.

Blatantly nosey - but also a little bit of an amateur survey

  1. How tall are you?
  2. How much do you weigh?
  3. How much would you like to weigh?
  4. When was the last time you steadily maintained that weight for, say, 5 years?

As its all anonoymous on here, feel free to join in without judgement. I'll kick off if I must

  4. 1999-2003 I weighed just over 8 stone & that included a pregnancy, after that pregnancy I fell pregnant again in April 2003 & gained a lot of weight. About 18 months ago I weighed almost 12 stone which is massively heavy for a wee girl like me (Said an Obese doctor as he handed me weightloss sheets)

I joined SW though & am making progress!!

  1. 5ft 8
  2. 14st 7lbs
  3. 11st 7lbs
  4. Probably about 5-10 years ago - have been struggling with my weight for at least last 5 years - I can remember being 11st 7lbs and still thinking I was too fat (in hindsight and looking at the photos, I looked great) but now I would give anything to be that weight again.
QuootieRedBullFreepie · 07/01/2007 21:22

same CeeBee! I remember joining WW at 11st, and being so embarrassed to get on the scales, and felt everyone was staring at me... I'd do anything to be 11st now! Only 2 stone to lose then

1)5 ft 6"
2)10 stone 4
3)9 stone 9. Not skinny, would still have boobs.
4)pre children. 1995 - 2000
Then lost weight through training for half-marathon and coming off pill and was 8 stone 11 when conceived dd. Put on 4 stone plus. Went down to 10 stone 2. Then conceived ds and put on nearly 3 stone.
Just had tonsilitis and lost 8 pounds. But have put on a couple since recovered (pah).

pooka · 07/01/2007 21:31

Should add that I looked unhealthy when was at my lightest. Very lean and very fit but no boobs. I have quite a large frame and my ribs we rather prominent.

2nervesleft · 07/01/2007 21:33
  1. 5' 8"
  2. Not brave enough to weigh after xmas but probably 11st 7lb 3)10st 4)Was always this weight from late teens until 1st pregnancy.(but also used to smoke)

I see photos of myself pre kids trying to hide from the camera because I felt so fat and I didn't have a bloody clue what fat was! Wish I had enjoyed it and not hidden in baggy clothes.

Spidermama · 07/01/2007 22:00

Interesting how few respondents are actually content at their weight.

Clearly we're supposed to be bigger as we get older and have children as most of us seem to get bigger.

If we could only make peace with ourselves and realise we're as we should be, imagine the burden we could lift off womankind.
