I'm looking for a buddy to join me and help motivate to lose some of this flab! I'm 5'7" and about 12st but will weigh in tomorrow morning.

OP posts:

Oh Claire. I'd be the same. Keep the resolve. Keep the resolve.

And get yourself on freecycle or gumtree and try and blag a shed for your tumbler.

Claire28will · 19/04/2016 22:02

I will stellar! I do always get my own way! Wink

Stellar67 · 19/04/2016 22:19

Ha ha! Me too. Only because we make sense.

ThisToo · 20/04/2016 06:36

My day went from bad to worse yesterday and I gave up trying to enter everything into mfp. Need to get myself back on track today.
Congratulations on your win claire I hope your DH sees sense today. What's a gas tumble drier though? I've never heard of that before.

Stellar67 · 20/04/2016 06:45

Draw a line thistoo. It's a new day today.

I weighed in as my day is Wednesday.

Weigh in: 12st 5
Lbs lost this week: .5
Lbs lost overall: 3
Goal weight: 9st 9lb

1/2 pound off. Not great as that's over 2 weeks but it was my holidays Grin back on the wagon now.

SharingMichelle · 20/04/2016 07:26

Don't beat yourself up Thistoo. One bad day doesn't overshadow all the good you've done. You can do it!

Claire28will · 20/04/2016 07:29

Thistoo just one that runs on gas rather than electric apparently it's half the price to run too!
Don't beat yourself up about your day start afresh and forget about it, you probably haven't eaten as much as you thought

MonsterClaws · 20/04/2016 11:00

That's good going Sharing!

Baby steps over here, have stepped away from booze but am yet to put the Pringles down. Am not eating slices of buttered bread every time I step in the kitchen though!

Having twanged by back am doing adriane's 30 days of yoga and amazingly after a week my back is way better and I feel that I have a core. 30 day shred will be back on soon.

ThisToo · 20/04/2016 11:43

Thanks for the support and encouragement everyone, it meant I was able to say no to the cakes in the office this morning Halo

claire I am clearly not a domestic goddess as I'd never heard of this before. Sounds like a great idea though if they are so much cheaper to run - you just need that shed!

Well done stellar I think any loss is a bonus when you've been on holiday Star

Monster I hope your back continues to improve and you can get back to shredding soon.

BanjoPier · 20/04/2016 11:59

Well done to all the losers Grin. After my annoyance at having gained 2lb since my starting date of 3 weeks ago, I've now managed to lose 3lb overall, so really I've lost 5lb if that makes sense - talk about 1 step forward 2 steps back!

weigh in : 12st 1lb
Llbs lost this week : 1
Llbs lost overall : 3
goal : 9st 7lbs
age : 40
height : 5ft 6

Am loving MFP - it's the only way I can be absolutely sure of keeping track of what goes in my gob. I feel so much better in myself even though no one would look at me and think I've lost weight. I managed to tuck a blouse into my trousers for work and not feel self conscious (I may have walked around holding a file in front of my tum every time I left my desk though...)

Have discovered an app on my phone which does a timed walking, jogging, running thing so may give that a go, but must resist tempation to eat a Mars bar afterwards as a reward for doing it.

Stellar67 · 20/04/2016 12:13

Monster hope you feel better soon.

Thanks thistoo, good work on the cakes.

Well done banjo, what the app?

What do people have for lunch. I'm being very samey and getting bored which will equate to eating rubbish.

BanjoPier · 20/04/2016 13:50

The App is called S Health on my phone (Samsung) - you can tell it how many calories you want to burn, or give it a distance you'd like to run walk briskly and the lady shouts at you to run faster, slower etc. Also you can do a baby steps to 5K/10K run over a 10 week period and it tells you which days you should be running/resting.

For lunch I had 100g of fat free yoghurt mixed with 30g of sweet chilli dipping sauce and a bag of Aldi Sundried Tomato & Basil Pitta Chips (25g pack). Whole thing came to 246 kcal. Bread just takes up too many calories and makes me bloat as much as I love it, so I've knocked sandwiches on the head. Also had a couple of satsumas. I will have a proper filling dinner - home made spag bol/chilli and rice etc. I'm a real boredom eater, so I have to keep busy in the evenings - I have been known to spend 2 hours in the bath lately from 8-10pm to stay away from the fridge, then go straight to bed!

lorelei9here · 20/04/2016 21:10

Banjo, got any good TV on the go? Box sets? Something really gripping will keep you away from the fridge.

Week not going great tbh
Work stress and late work
Also asthma has kicked off big time so have only walked as exercise, makes me grumpy to miss usual workout but I have that "claw" in chest feeling so fierce cardio is not a good plan.

Plus now have two meals out this week. Well I knew I had one..the other is a delayed birthday, my friend's gran died and she's only just felt like venturing out after cancelling her original birthday meal

Obviously I would go wherever she chose...which happens to be a place that literally only does Sunday roasts. Not that I have anything against them, it just wouldn't have been my first choice while on a diet! But I am obviously pleased shes ready to venture out, that's very good indeed.

Stellar67 · 21/04/2016 07:14

Sounds like a great lunch Banjo. I too am a sandwich person so need to find alternatives.

Lorelei hope your chest improves soon. Asthma is awful. And hope you enjoy your friends birthday dinner.

I sabotaged myself last night. I'd been so good and thought I could have a packet of crisps, which turned into 3, and then I opened the biscuit tin. Blush I feel so ill and upset this morning. I must harness this feeling and try and remind myself of it the next time I go snacking.

MonsterClaws · 21/04/2016 12:19

Thistoo and Stellar thank you for the good wishes - working a treat in conjunction with the yoga and I can bend again.

Stellar sometimes I think a blow out helps resolve in the longer run. I almost have to reach crisp saturation point before they lose their lure. Anyway we will both avoid the crisps today;)

I ate a tin of rhubarb muffins yesterday if that helps you feel any better...

Lorielee hope the asthma improves soon

Stellar67 · 21/04/2016 12:40

Thanks monster, I've picked myself up and went jogging. Can't undo it so moving on.

I enjoy yoga. It's great for backs.

SharingMichelle · 21/04/2016 14:06

I sometimes have a bit of last night's supper for lunch. It's quite good to have something hot and filling in the middle of the day, and then I can have a much smaller supper and I don't go to bed full of food.

Otherwise for lunch I have a massive bowl of raw veg or salad + protein + dressing.
eg shredded cabbage and carrot + handful of roast peanuts and raisins + spicy dressing.
Or baby spinach + sliced avocado + sesame dressing.
Or lambs leaf and tomato + halloumi / olives + lemon dressing.

I find I can really fill up on the veg and it doesn't take much of the dressing and other stuff to make it delicious.

I'm starting running again tomorrow. PT says 10 mins on Fri and 12 mins on Sat so nothing too scary. Am really looking forward to it! Must try and find my mp3 thingy.

hellokittehhhh · 22/04/2016 16:51

Just checking In to the thread. Busy week at work means I've not been able to keep up properly!

I was late weighing myself by 2 days this week, have lost a lb so 6lb overall, although mfp is saying I've only lost 3.9 even though my details are right?? I've not made the best choices this week but starting again tomorrow Grin

How's everybody else finding it?

Stellar67 · 23/04/2016 07:28

Enjoy the running sharing. Good luck with the weigh in Claire.
Well done hello!

I'm still plodding along. I need to hide my scales from myself. Or throw them out and weigh myself at boots or similar.

I'm off to do a park run today Confused

Claire28will · 23/04/2016 07:46

Have fun on the park run stellar! Know what you mean about the scales I'm so tempted to bounce on them every time I'm in the bathroom I think I have had to use more willpower this week to avoid weighing myself than eating!

SharingMichelle · 23/04/2016 08:19

I did my first run yesterday. It wasn't impressive and it wasn't pretty, but it was a start. Going again later today when it's cooler. I've downloaded Run Keeper app, which apparently tracks my pitiful efforts and connects directly with MFP.

I think eldest dd is trying to sabotage me!! Yesterday I got home to find she had made a batch of frosted chocolate chip cupcakes. Today she's decided she'd like to bake a blueberry pie!

Weigh in tomorrow or Monday.

Claire28will · 23/04/2016 08:43

Well done sharing I'm sure your efforts will be great! Good luck!
