Morning all
I'm feeling a bit better
I've got an event coming up in six weeks, I'd really like to lose for that. I am thinking Spring should make this easier....

Stellar67 · 13/04/2016 09:44

Everyone is doing really well! Great to see. I'm getting a bit antsy about not weighing in! But I can't get to a scales so I just need to stop worrying and record what I eat, even the cheesecake!

Claire28will · 13/04/2016 10:15

Brilliant sharing! It could have been water retention when you weighed a few days ago especially if you have been exercising

TippyTappyLappyToppy · 13/04/2016 10:22

Hi all, I have had a mixed week since I last checked in, losing a couple of pounds then promptly putting three back - you know how it goes! I can't even blame AF as mine seem to have stopped altogether now. Anyway after a couple of days of concerted effort I would now appear to be back on the downward slope and weigh 11.9 this morning compared to 12 at the start of the thread.

I started a diary of my measurements, tops of arms, bust, waist, hips, thighs and calves but forgot to measure on only the second Saturday! Will try to make sure I do it this weekend and hopefully there will be a little bit of inch loss showing by then.

Great progress everyone, keep it up!

TippyTappyLappyToppy · 13/04/2016 10:41

I will be so happy once I get under 11.7 as I lost quite a bit of weight last year, got to 11.5 from an all time high of 12.9 at one point Shock and then gradually over time it started to creep back on and I've really struggled to get back under 11.7 and stay there for a more than a day or two. Once I am at 11.7 I can then mentally focus on just being something less than 11.7, then getting to 11 and staying there for a while, then next milestone will be to be anything under 11, then 10.7 and so on.

I think it's mentally less of a hill to climb if you break it down into small milestones and better if you sometimes allow yourself to just maintain where you are for a while instead of constant loss week on week which is rarely achievable or sustainable. Then after maybe two or three weeks it's time to reboot and work on going down a pound or two again.

Sharing I feel for you, it's so demoralising when you are doing everything you are told is right and are still fat! Also what your PT said is correct I suppose except we all get bombarded by so much conflicting advice from people you sometimes don't know what to do for the best! Well done on the 4.5lbs off, that's brilliant.

Tiredemma · 14/04/2016 07:07

Claire28will · 14/04/2016 07:42

I'm thinking about getting a Fitbit, are they worth it and will I end up leaving it lying at my arse?? Anyone got one and recommend them?

tigerchair · 14/04/2016 08:52

Hi everyone, I've been AWOL but dragging my ass back to join you all again Smile

Have let the usual suspects (work stress, busy with kids, no time) get in the way again of focusing on myself and what I want to achieve!!

Will be back later to post weight update. Good to see you all are keeping on with this weight loss 'journey' ... as they call it at slimming world.

Hope you all have a great day x

lorelei9here · 14/04/2016 10:49

Claire, I had a fitbit and sold it on ebay!

I don't really know why I bought it. I work out a lot and don't have a car and walk a lot anyway. All my guesses at what kind of step count I had were accurate and then I thought "why have I bought this?"!!! I think it might be good for someone who doesn't move around a lot, I don't know.

Claire28will · 14/04/2016 11:03

Thanks lorelei I'm constantly on the go and exercising so might have been a waste then!

SharingMichelle · 14/04/2016 14:51

Three people told me I look nice today, and I didn't scream back at them like a banshee that I've been hungry for nearly two weeks now so I SHOULD look good.

Have been OK the last couple of days, but have a tricky day tomorrow.

Meeting friend for coffee in the morning, lunch with DD and then a work function later in the day.

It's days like this that I struggle with, but will do my best.

Like eighty my mid afternoon sugar cravings have eased to the point that I can actually refuse biscuits and cake offered to me.

Keep up the good work everyone x

ermmm · 15/04/2016 05:25

You girls are doing well. I commented on this thread earlier on as I went to the gyno about a weak pelvic floor and was told to excercise and do watch my weight.
Well behaved a few weeks no takeouts and went bed early to avoid midnight snacking -only to find out I'm pregnant!!!😳
So the direction of the weight is only going to go one way no☺️.
Look forward to a similar thread in say 9 months time 😉.

ijustwanttobeme · 15/04/2016 07:21

emmm many congratulations Flowers and see you in 9 months Smile

SharingMichelle · 15/04/2016 15:11

Congratulations Emmmm!

MonsterClaws · 15/04/2016 18:10

Sorry I nearly started with you all but then went awol on a flurry of dinners out and a holiday full of cocktails and ice cream. Well am back and was
11.6 starting weight today
9.7 target weight
5ft7
Hoping to be trim for summer and to be running like a whippet (well maybe an old lab)

Really want to be fit so started The Shred today which is normally a friend to me but put my back out straight away!! Anyway am limping towards exercise too

Most inspiring reading the thread-
Hope am OK to but in

ThisToo · 15/04/2016 18:24

ermmm congratulations Flowers

I hope everyone has been having a good week? I haven't been keeping up with the thread the last few days but I'll have a read through when the DC are in bed.
I have managed an aerobics class and my HiiT class last night which I'm hoping will offset any slip ups diet wise. Like today at work when lunch was provided and I've had to guess the kcal involved or the night I found the forgotten Easter chocolate in the back of the fridge Blush

Claire28will · 15/04/2016 19:03

Congrats ermmm SmileThanks
I'm still having a good week, have been doing Davina every morning and a walk here and there, I'm on maternity leave at the minute and one of my colleagues is leaving today so I popped in for his farewell lunch and omg the whole table was covered in cake, buns, sandwiches, cocktail sausages and so much more!!! It actually almost killed me but I sat there and had a cup of coffee, all over this will power thing this week! Grin

Kreeshsheesh · 15/04/2016 21:24

Congratulations ermmm, how lovely! Michelle that's a great weight loss. I've been trying to be good this week but I'm suffering from a sore tum today - really bloated and pain right through to the back. Sad I haven't been able to get out to exercise so that hasn't helped my get fit efforts! Good luck to everyone for a craving resistant weekend! Grin

ijustwanttobeme · 15/04/2016 23:04

Fuck, I've just messed my week up,by snacking on a marmite sandwich and a kit Kat chunky- literally as I was about to go to bed! Taken my self hundreds of calories over Sad

I thought I'd done so well up till that point. Hey ho. Try harder tomorrow.

Off to bed now, so I can't eat anymore....goodnight everyone

Stellar67 · 16/04/2016 08:47

Congrats Ermm! Thanks

Everyone is going great! Apart from marmite sandwiches Wink You know I have never tried marmite?

Got back from holidays last night and got on the scales this morning. And I've stayed the same! Which I'm rather pleased about.

So back on the wagon from now. Also started jogging again! Keesh are you jogging again? My knee feels okay. Have you any good stretch techniques?

SharingMichelle · 16/04/2016 12:31

How is everyone doing? I have moved my scales into my bedroom and now I weigh myself about 7 times a day. This is bad. But also my scales are completely bonkers so I can lose 3lbs and gain another 5 in the time it takes me to put a wash on and hang it out. It's an emotional rollercoaster.

I've got dh to sign up to My Fitness Pal. It's brilliant having a partner in crime - although I am very jealous of all the calories he's allowed.

I've been very good food-wise. Have not gone over my calorie allowance in 2 weeks. Am not being quite as active as I should be though. PT says I can start running again soon which will help. How much exercise do most of you do?

Kreeshsheesh · 16/04/2016 13:53

Stellar I have started c25k and on week 3. I've been using an app called 5k runner which seems pretty good so far. I just do the 5 mins brisk walking as a warm up then some gentle calf / quad stretches at the end. So far, so good though I've not been able to get out as much as I'd like due to weather / work commitments. Good luck starting again - it's good once you get back into it! I always have an internal conversation about reasons why I should / shouldn't go out but then I think about how I've signed up to do the Race for Life 5K in June...! Shock

lorelei9here · 16/04/2016 20:19

Well I almost don't want to tempt fate saying this but the last few days have been okay
I think I might have found some meal balances that work a bit better for me. Either that or I'm just getting used to eating less, which would be very good.
