PeckaRolloverAgain · 19/02/2007 09:44

Could I have that Carrot and Coriander soup recipe please?

fireflyfairy2 · 19/02/2007 14:08

Definitely

free on green

8-10 medium carrots chopped
1 lg onion diced
1/2 tsp garlic salt [half]
1 tsp ground coriander
85g [3oz] yellow/orange split peas
85g [3oz] pearl barley
2pt stock made with vecon [If you use stock cubes rem to count syns]

  1. Place all ingredients in saucepan along with the stock. Boil for about 90mins checking to see if it needs more water from time to time.

  2. When carrots are soft, transfer from pan into blender & puree. Heat through for about 3 mins until piping hot.

[You can garnish with fresh coriander/parsley] Will keep in fridge for about 2 days. It will freeze well too

Has anyone got an ingredients list for asda's chickpea dahl please? I have a tin of Natco chickpea dahl and want to see if the ingredients are the same ie if this is free as well. My manufacturers book doesn't have natco brand down.

Am guilty of not going to class for weigh in last night.....I knew I had probably stuck or put on and couldnt face it after putting on last week. I think I'm losing motivation as cant get into it for some reason? Will try to get back on plan after my pancake session tonight.

Will be trying the carrot n coriander soup sounds yum!

Good luck everyone x

loobysmum · 20/02/2007 12:44

Hi everyone

Not been on for a while, and have a lot of catching up to do with this thread! Haven't read it through yet. Well, I lost 1 1/2lbs two weeks ago but had put on 2lbs last night (grrrrrr!) My own fault, so going to try hard this week. Asda are doing Batchelors Savoury Rice at five for £1 at the moment (sorry if anyone's mentioned it already). Will be living on it this week, I imagine! Also carrot and coriander soup - I do one with chicken bovril, garlic, onions .... oh yeah, and carrots and coriander - nothing else and its lovely but I've just noticed Firefly's one with the split peas and barley, which sounds good too and probably more filling ... excellent! Forgot to get the password this week, so wouild be really grateful if someone could let me know? Ta!

Beadmum · 20/02/2007 15:07

Hi everyone

Havent been on this thread before, can i join please? i started the sw plan just over 2 weeks ago, cant believe how much i can eat
i lost 6lbs in my first 2 weeks and this thread looks great for motivation and tips

mammaemma · 20/02/2007 15:38

Hi Beadmum, Nice to have you on board. Well done for losing 6lbs thats amazing. I am a little bit slack and have only been doing it 4 weeks and have only lost 5.5lbs!! Trouble is I am good more days than I am bad so i get a constant loss but its just a lot slower. Need to step it up as I am a bridesmaid soon with 3 skinnies !!! Here goes a good week... but its pancake day.. oh cripes thats why I don't have big losses. Anybody want to give me some of their willpower !
