...Fool that flab...I love it!

BigHotMama · 14/02/2007 11:10

Going to Asda shopping for few essentials....but gone blank.....what are your top 5-10 essentials when doing the SW diet apart from fruit??? HELP!

honey28 · 14/02/2007 14:04

muller light yogurts, fruit & veg, cous cous, pasta (green days) eggs
Hows that for a start?

tkband3 · 14/02/2007 19:53

One of my favourite lunches (and my DTs love it too) is Riso Gallo risotto pronto - the sun-dried tomato one is free on a green day. I always stir in some spinach and have part of my HE portion of parmesan with it. It's yummy - so that's always on my list. Only prob is not all supermarkets stock it, not sure about Asda, but Tescsos and Sainsburys do.

Didn't make it to class this week, as I was on my way back from my mum's where DD1 had been staying for a couple of days. Trouble was, I knew I probably wasn't going to make it so I haven't been very good this week ...having a slimming world supper followed by v. naughty pudding for Valentine's dinner tonight, but will be good from tomorrow and hopefully repair the damage by next week. I don't have scales at home so can't weigh myself here
(fortunately )

Hi Iptwinkletoes, & Welcome

I had 1/2lb off last night but am happy it wasn't 1/2lb gain Every little helps!!

when I came home from class yesterday evening, Dh had cooked us 2 lovely steaks, garlic fries, pepper sauce & m'rooms & onions Delicious!! He had bannoffee for afters, I didn't, I don't like it. [I had a bag of minstrels instead]

I would love another 2lb off this week to make it up to 14lb! Will try my hardest!!!

Well done everyone else on their losses!!

lptwinkletoes · 15/02/2007 11:09

have been losing 2lb a week but dont think i can keep that up, i will be happy with anything on monday.
congrats to everyone, i know its hard for me if there are chocs about!!!

fireflyfairy2 · 15/02/2007 12:58

Just had a lovely pkt of wine & mushroom pasta with 2 laughing cow light stirred in Delicious!!!!!!!!

I was telling a friend what I had for din last night & she has really annoyed me!! She said "OMG... you ate all that!! After you had been to a slimming class???? Eew... then I said that it was all cooked in spray oil & the garlic fries were done like sw chips... she said "Yeah, you keep talking, you might even convince yourself you didn't eat it at all"

I was too shocked, just said I had to get on, & left Dh said she was jealous 'cos she had asked me if I got flowers & I said no. She said she hadn't either, then I said DH cooked me the above meal... I felt awful... feel like an elephant after her comments. I mean, just 'cos I am on a diet doesn't mean I can't eat

Joby1970 · 15/02/2007 13:38

fff2

never let people's negative comments get you down.. she obviously has NO IDEA how slimming world works. Remember how well you have done & put two fingers up to her (if you want to be well mannered do it whilst she's not there.)

tkband3 · 15/02/2007 14:09

FFF2 I think your friend must just be jealous because you're doing so well and she obviously doesn't understand how SW works. FWIW I had pretty much the same last night - HUGE steak with roasted veg and SW chips. Only difference was I made it, although I did get a lovely bunch of roses . I had bought 2 naughty chocolate puddings but we were too full after our steaks , so I'm either going to have to let the DCs eat them, or save up some syns for them over the w/e.

BigHotMama · 15/02/2007 14:26

TTK I'm drooling stop it! The thing is with me if there is chocolate or pudding in the house I cant save it for the weekend I'd have to have it there and then I think I have a serious problem!

Well done for the losses girls...

fireflyfairy2 · 15/02/2007 18:38

Does anyone know how many syns are in kebab sauce?? I bought a tub from my local butcher today. Am cooking sw chips, chicken fillet [HE] & onion... would love a dollop of kebab sauce over the top.....

Gingeme · 15/02/2007 18:53

Good evening ladies. Well I went to my first class Wednesday morning. Shocked at how much I weigh. Trying realy hard to get into it. Dh is in the kitchen making quorn cottage pie. Smells realy yummy. Just hope my ds whos 2.9 eats it. Luckily he likes trying new things. Firefly2 my parents are exactly the same. I try and try to explain how sw works and that they dont have to starve to lose weight but I dont think theyre convinced. Oh well there loss.

Gingeme · 15/02/2007 18:57

Oh just one more thing where do you get sw chips and what sausages are free on a red day? thanks

BENDYB · 15/02/2007 19:23

well done on the losses every1,

hi gingeme, u make the chips yourself, they are lovely! really in a rush at the mo but i'm sure some1 else will post how ya make them, if not i will later!

fireflyfairy2 · 15/02/2007 19:54

Gingme

You peel & chop a spud.

Par-boil them, just for a few minutes.

Drain them, shake them in the saucepan for a minute or so until the edges are rough.

[pre-heat a baking tray with spray oil in the oven]

The pour the drained potato chips into the baking tray & pop in the oven

They do take a wee while to brown up so don't be alarmed!

Chipstick · 15/02/2007 21:14

I haven't done slimming world for years and am thinking of rejoining. The vegetable balti masala that is on the ASDA takeaway curry counter used to be free on a green day with boiled rice. Is that still the case??

My whole decision to rejoin is based on that!! How very sad, but I used to eat it all the time when my hubby was on lates - its delicious.

BENDYB · 16/02/2007 10:09

hi every1, how i do the chips now( some1 on here told me this, cant remember who!!)
is instead of par boilin them just put them in microwave for about 5 mins, then put them in oven, they seem 2 go brown quicker, i also sprinkle paprika & garlic salt on them! yum yum!

StrawberrySnowflakes · 16/02/2007 13:03

me!..wanted to do some too but my spuds were a week out of date

OP posts:
Gingeme · 16/02/2007 17:10

ledodgy · 16/02/2007 17:12

StrawberrySnowflakes · 16/02/2007 19:13

OP posts:
fireflyfairy2 · 16/02/2007 21:39

We grow spuds..they never go out of date

& for anyone else wanting to know how many syns are in kebab sauce, my sw consultant called me today & I asked her, she said about 4 per tablespoon

fireflyfairy2 · 17/02/2007 14:50

I've just made sw carrot & coriander soup..Mmmmmm!! Delicious!!

if anyone wants the recipe I'll post it up

Very easy, & very very tasty!!!
