Gingeme · 12/02/2007 21:01

Just spotted you. Thanks bendyb. 2 days to go then Im back on sw diet .

fireflyfairy2 · 12/02/2007 21:06

How'd you get on bighotmama???

In the end I went for a red day [incase anyone was wondering]

BigHotMama · 12/02/2007 21:56

I put on 1 and half pound...but realised that actually I cant JUST blame it on the lemsips, I did have an indian, a chinese and mucha chocolate during my illness....What on earth was I thinking? Am going to get back on plan this week as want my half stone badge for next week..got to start taking this more seriously if I want to look half decent on my holiday later this year!

Plan Of Action
-drink lots of water
-eat more speed foods
-eat more free foods
-dont give in to takeaway when cant be assed to cook
-attempt to get to the gym at the weekend
-write everything down
-attempt to do one of the yum recipes in new magazine - Chilli chicken sounds nice....

Oh and one of the members tonight said they had tried Mcains Rustic Chips...they are 1syn per 100g and are very tasty may give them a try as sometimes too hard to peel, cut and spray my SW chips and then wait for them to cook................

How did your red day go then FF? What did you have ?

fireflyfairy2 · 12/02/2007 22:35

Well I had free foods all morning, but a HE breakfast of oat so simple. The I had scrambled egg for lunch [aren't eggs free on original days too?]

For dinner I had 2 beef sausages, 1 slice of bacon, baked potato & some turnip. I had given myself 3 slices of bacon but just could eat 1...I'm sure my stomach is shrinking, I feel full really quickly & never finish what's on my plate these days.

Tonight I have grazed on half a tin of ham But that's free too isn't it? This is only my 2nd ever day of doing red... so hopefully I'll not have messed up.

You'll get back on track this week though, being ill really knocks you for six.

tkband3 · 13/02/2007 09:25

I quite often make up a big casserole in the slow cooker before I go out in the morning - which is all free on a red day. Loads of veg in it as well as meat and then make either free chips or new potatoes to go with it.

Or if I want bolognaise I make it with lots of veg in it as well, so that I can have it as a healthy extra portion of meat on a green day and have lots of spaghetti as well - the red day portion of spaghetti is laughable. It would be simpler if I liked quorn but I just don't - it's too synthetic for me.

I lost 1.5lb last week, but have not been at all good this week, partly because I don't think I'm going to make it to class this evening, so figure I've got another week to catch up - always a bad way to think.

mammaemma · 13/02/2007 11:03

Hi Tuesday weighers (and everyone else!!)
Lost 1 and 3/4 pounds this week so 5 1/4 in three weeks which i am pretty chuffed with as I have been good during the week and then having one day at the weekend off. Love co-op dried packet of macaroni cheese only 1 syn and tastes really naughty for lunch. Always find them and pasta n sauce good for lunch as it doesn't use any HE's so I can save them for tea !!.
Does anybody know the syn value of quaker cruncy oatbakes ? think they would make a lovely desert with a vanilla muller light.
Good luck ladies, I love this forum it helps more than the classes for me x

BigHotMama · 13/02/2007 11:04

FireFly, eggs are free on both days. Love them scrambled too. Not sure on tinned ham though? Which sausages did you have and how many syns? I wish they were still free like years ago...I sometimes have the Bowyers meditteranean ones (1/2 syn) but couldnt eat them for breaky as bit spicy.
Well done for the loss TK

BENDYB · 13/02/2007 11:04

hi all, lost 1lb this wk, i'm determined to do more exercise this wk tho coz my weight loss has really slowed down, think that'll really help, still waiting for my exercise bike 2 arrive!
good luck 2 the other tuesday weighers!

Serenity3 · 13/02/2007 11:13

FireFly - you would have had to weigh your baked potato too, on a red day this would not be free. Like BigHotMamma says too, not sure about the ham, thats one best checked up on.

Honey - Good luck this week! You sound postive and in gear so im sure you will do well. I can't wait to hear the results of your next weigh in

BigHotMamma - i have to congratulate you despite your little gain. Mmmm, a chinese and an Indian!!! I think that would be worth the pound and a half, i dream about chicken korma!!

Serenity3 · 13/02/2007 11:18

BendyB

Well done on your weightloss! If you find it has slowed down try switching things about a bit. If you would normally have more green days try sticking to original for a week or so and vice versa.

The problem is your body reaches a stage where it gets used to the routine so the trick is to change that. Fool that Flab!!

More exercise is good too, that cant do any harm, but i always worry that if i should stop doing it, or even reduce it, the weight might go back on!!

BENDYB · 13/02/2007 11:34

thanks serenity, yeah thats what i've been doin switching things, i normally have mostly green days but been doin a few original 2 but hasn't really helped, def think i need 2 exercise, & stop eating choc! thats what i use nearly all my syns on, i find if i just give it up for even 2 days i have a really good weight loss so think i'll try that 2!

Serenity3 · 13/02/2007 11:43

now thats where i'm tight Bendy, while ever i'm having to pay to be weighed i'm really good, i use my syns for things such as sauces or little extras to make my meals taste better. The chocolate will come later, when i'm at target and not lining my consultants pockets ha ha!

Good luck for this week, happy exercising!

BigHotMama · 13/02/2007 11:48

Lol Serenity! I had chicken dupiaza with fried rice and nan bread, it was definately worth the pound n half. It was the best curry I've had in ages and was that good I wanted to lick the plate.

I'm being good at the moment, filling in a food diary helps me as I dont remember just how many syns are in what?

Serenity3 · 13/02/2007 12:01

My mouth is watering now BigHotMamma!! [grin}

Good idea re food diary, i'm sure you will have waved bye bye to all evidence of your delicious curry at next weigh in.

Keep up the good work!

Serenity3 · 13/02/2007 12:07

Hi mammaemma - would that be Quaker Oat cereal? have had a look online and thats the nearest thing i can find to your crunchy oat bakes and they are 5 syns per 28g (gulp)

Hope this helps

mammaemma · 13/02/2007 14:41

Hi Serenity3,
yes it is that and gulp think i will give that a miss...... much rather have a chocolate bar ! heheh:-)

Can anyone help me am looking in my food optimising book and some healthy extras are listed twice e.g. 113g kidney beans or 57g kidney beans. I notice on has a speed food symbol next to it - what is the difference?

StrawberrySnowflakes · 13/02/2007 19:39

? maybe its different on red and green days????

OP posts:
Txxx · 13/02/2007 19:53

Its the same on both the green and the red though? I can only guess that its to do with the speed food thing - maybe having the smaller portion when you're trying to lose it quicker???

StrawberrySnowflakes · 13/02/2007 19:56

hmm maybe ? i thought they were only free on one of the days? what do i know!, dont listen to me

OP posts:
Txxx · 13/02/2007 20:09

Yeah sorry beans are only free on one day, but there are other foods on both days that have different measures. another example is on a green day where it says you can have 28g of houmous as a speed food on a green day,or 57g of houmous without it being a speed food?

honey28 · 13/02/2007 20:11

Re the kidney beans - the portion size that has the S beside it, not only is a healthy extra but a speed food. If you eat the amount stated then it works as a speed food. If you look at the "grab and Go" section for healthy extras you will see the same for ryvitas. Off the top of my head you can either as 2 as a speed food or 4 as an ordinary HE. This slimming lark is confusing!!!!

Txxx · 13/02/2007 20:16

THanks that makes sense just found this on bodyoptimise faqs webpage
" Q:
Why is Ryvita listed twice as a Healthy Extra?
A:
Ryvita crispbreads just come in one size for each variety. The two Healthy Extra choices for Ryvita that are listed are:

2 Original/Sesame/Dark Rye - this is a Speed Food option
or
4 Original/Sesame/Dark Rye - this isn't a Speed Food. Instead it gives you an extra helping of Fibre (you will see the symbols at the side of each entry).

Choose either - they're both great for your weight loss!"

Mystery solved!!! Thank you!
