shauna72 · 09/02/2007 17:45

Hi Lucherlass. Our consultant said that 20g bars of Green & Blacks are 51/2 syns which is good and they are very rich so you feel like had something lovely!

lurcherlass · 09/02/2007 20:57

Ooh that sounds lovely Shauna, perhaps DH will buy me some for Valentines day (if I put post-it notes up all round the house reminding him!!).

Gingeme · 10/02/2007 14:02

Sparkler1 · 11/02/2007 21:00

Help!! I'm weakening. Sunday night and I have the munchies. Have a very sweet tooth as well. A big bar of choccie would do very nicely thankyou very much.

fireflyfairy2 · 11/02/2007 22:57

Ah don't talk to me about chocolate!! I'd love some!!
I had an ice-cream today too

I usually do green, but today I had a red day... don't think I did very well, seemed to eat too much.

Breakfast/lunch [about 12.00] was:

2 slices of bacon [free]
Mushrooms [free]
Tomato [free]
An egg [free]
3 slices of ww bread [HEB]

Snack:
Apple [free]
Ice-cream [not sure yet]
cone [0.5]

Dinner:

1 beef burger [free]
1 wholemeal roll [other HEB can I do this? as it's the same as the other HEB]
1 sausage that ds didn't eat [but free]

Doesn't this seem like an awful lot?

BENDYB · 12/02/2007 09:17

welcome gingeme, good luck!

tiger8565 · 12/02/2007 09:21

firefly....that is NOT a lot ....trust me....

as long as it is all free, you will find you don't have a problem. It's like a fire, it can't keep burning without fuel, the more fuel, the more it burns....our bodies work like that too

Serenity3 · 12/02/2007 13:38

Hi Guys

Hope you all had a good weekend. I lost 4lb this week, i'm amazed and delighted. Only another 7lb to go to target.

This weeks password for SW online is HEART

StrawberrySnowflakes · 12/02/2007 13:41

wow well done..and thanks for password, i missed today as got day off and wanted to get dd's room painted while she was at school!..scales show i am same as last week??.. but have had good week? so..???

OP posts:
Serenity3 · 12/02/2007 14:02

I can relate to that! Its really strange but continue with your good work and im sure you will have a good weight loss by the time you go back to class next week. I have been known to maintain, even though ive been really good the lose between 4 and 5lb the following week.

Heres a little tip too. If you have been sticking to mainly green or original, try changing it round. I find i can get 'stuck' after enjoying more green days so i switch to original for a week or so and things get moving again.

Hope this helps. Happy painting

fireflyfairy2 · 12/02/2007 15:19

I had a red day yesterday. So far today I don't know wether to have a red day or green day. Have just had my HE's & free foods today. [having scrambled egg at the min as I missed lunch!] So...what do I do... for dinner I am making, potatoes [can use for free on green or as HE on red?] turnip [free]
bacon [again, HE if green, FREE on red] What's the best idea? I never eat many potatoes, so might have a red day, count the potatoes as a HE & have a huge helping of turnip & bacon??

honey28 · 12/02/2007 15:21

Serenity - I think I will give that a try too - I have been stuck at the same weight for about 8 weeks now - well, 1/2 on 1/2 of, 1 on, 1 off sort of pattern but looking back over the past few months I haven't gone lower than the current weight I am . I do mostly green days - do you think I should shake the whole thing up by doing red for the week?

BigHotMama · 12/02/2007 16:12

Red days do help you even if its just 2 or 3 per week? I find them harder though as not a big meat/fish eater. Its a case of Bacon, Tuna, chicken or steak for me. WEigh in tonight and have been ill for last 4 days so think the lempsips and honey will have taken its toll and tbh have been comfort eating (Thats no bloody excuse really is it?)

Serenity3 · 12/02/2007 16:25

Yes honey, i would certainly give it a try. This week i roaseted a gammon joint. If i felt peckish during the day a slice of that satisfied my hunger.
I think the fact i have been 'graing' but on permitted food helped my weight loss this week. Also, because you are not letting yourself get over hungry, waiting for the next meal, you are less likely to over eat.

You could also try speed foods, my favourite speed food USED to be mushy peas but now.... I can't deal with the bloated tummy and the wind

I find nibbling at chicken helps too.

Are you almost at your target weight?
Are you weighing and measuring?
Maybe to get things moving again you will have to go back to basics. Sometimes we do tend to become complacent, especially when we have been on the plan for a while.

I hope all this helps and that you have a good weight loss this week

Serenity3 · 12/02/2007 16:29

Good luck with your weigh in BigHotMamma!

Hope the lemsips and honey haven't been too unkind to you.

Honey - i just remembered that i snack on crab sticks too. They are also free.

honey28 · 12/02/2007 16:34

Thanks for all the advice. I have lost 19lbs with another 7-14 to go - depends on how I look/feel when I lose another 7 if you know what I mean! My problem with red days is that I am never sure what to have for lunch in work? Any ideas? I dont have facilities to heat things up - I often bring in flasks of HM soup though. Won't make it to Weigh in tonight, have been in bed since Saturday with flu/cold and am still feeling pretty weak/miserable. Havent really had an appetite all weekend but have just eaten what I fancied when I did, rather than what I should have eaten

BigHotMama · 12/02/2007 16:47

Thanks serenity

Honey, how about preparing a chicken stir fry the night before? Or a bacon & cheese toastie? Can you eat them cold though?

Serenity3 · 12/02/2007 16:57

Hi honey,

its not a very original idea but how about a salad snack box, you could add prawns, or use crab sticks or any meat you like. I like to use my syns for light coleslaw, it always makes a salad more bearable for me

I like tuna mixed with extra light salad cream, black pepper and a chopped red onion too. I can't eat bread as i am intolerant to gluten but i use large leaves of an iceberg lettuce, place the tuna mix on the leaf and roll it. It may not sound up to much but it is delicious.

I also make good use of the laughing cow cheese triangles. Somedays, i may just have a bowl of mixed veg and i melt 2 laughing cow triangles in with it instead of butter, its lovely and satisfying.

Hard boiled eggs? They are satisfying too, you could incorporate those somewhere in your lunch.

Hope these ideas help, i will post again if i think of anymore

You have done really well with your weight loss. As your body gets used to a diet the loss does tend to slow down so some sort of shake up is usually required. Although SW swear that if you follow the plan 100% you will lose weight no matter what.

Hope you are feeling better soon. With a bit of luck you will have had a good loss next time you weigh in.

Serenity3 · 12/02/2007 17:00

Just a thought but, could you take your own toastie machine into work? Do you have a canteen?

My brain is going into over drive now

Serenity3 · 12/02/2007 17:07

Or, could you make a SW chilli or bolognese and take that in a flask. You used to be able to get a food flask rather than a drinks flask which is a bit wider.

Now trying to think how you might be able to keep a jacket potato warm until luncj time!!

honey28 · 12/02/2007 18:14

Serenity - these ideas are great! I've been working on the boss to get us a microwave and think I've swayed him- promised to cook lunches for him too !!. The reason we originally werent allowed it was because the staff canteen complained but they seem to have come round to the idea that not everyone likes canteen food. I need to get my backside into gear and re-read my food optimising book. Am off until Thursday (dont you just love kids being off for half term)so should be ok until then. I genuinely believe I dont eat enough (of the right things) When I look back at my weight loss at the start and I was losing 2-4lbs regularly I was eating loads. You are right about getting complacent too. Ok, new week, new start!

Mumbojumbo · 12/02/2007 18:23

Hi

I like to to cous cous salad - cous cous with chopped up cucumber, tomato, courgette, pepper, spring onion (any veg you like!). Can eat it hot or cold!
