Well done to you too karen! I felt good before I went tonight as my best friend's dad's stepson's girlfriend was in their house (god that was a mouthful) I haven't seen her for a couple of months and she said "My God Emma, I didn't recognise you, you look like a different person!"

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 22:45

great when you get comments like that - i weigh exactly what i weighed when i came back from my honey moon.

comments from the class tonight was that my trousers were too bigggggggg

Udder · 08/02/2007 08:55

Excuse me for saying.. but.. why do call them leader?? They are called Consultants..

Serenity3 · 08/02/2007 10:46

Hi Everyone

I'm a newbie to mumsnet but boy! am i glad i found it!

I'm especially glad i found this section. I joined SW eight weeks ago and so far have lost 1st 5lb, i seem to have hit a plateau now.

I would like to lose another stone (finger's crossed) and I do think I will get more help and advise by logging on here than I will going to class.

It's really helpful of you guys who announce the weekly internet password too, thats the only reason i keep going to class and paying my £4.50!!
My consultant is about 4stone overweight herself and it's not very motivating, she is not exactly a good advert for the diet.

Well done on all your weight losses and many thanks for all the great tips, recipe ideas and motivation!!

katylou25 · 08/02/2007 10:52

Well weighed in last night and lost another pound so thats 8 1/2 in a month so am really chuffed - now only another 4 stone to go!!!!

peachespaige · 08/02/2007 12:09

Hello, sorry to crash your thread but I have a question. On a green day can I have chicken twice as my healthy extra b choice, instead of say bread and chicken??? Congrats on the weight loss.

shauna72 · 08/02/2007 12:41

Well done everyone on your losses this week! This is such a good thread, very inspirational and brilliant for food ideas.I lost a pound so now 4 1/2 in 3 weeks, seems so slow but at least going in right direction. Yes you can have 2 lots of chicken as Heb if you want Peachespaige. I have started having fruit instead of cereal in the morning so that I too can have more flexibility with my evening meals. Was a bit naughty after weigh-in, treated myself to a toasted teacake, haven't dared look it up as I had butter too! Whoops! But if you can't be a bit naughty on weigh in day when can you be!

Joby1970 · 08/02/2007 13:17

Hi & welcome Serenity3 - keep going to class it really does help! Its true tho the girls on here are fab & have great tips.

You say you've hit a plateau.... however if you look at it another way you've lost 19 lbs in 8 weeks... that's 2 lbs per week - a good & healthy weight loss... it'll also mean you are far less likely to put it on again.

Keep going at it & try some speed foods (if they still have them on SW - its been a long time since I went to class) plus execise.

Serenity3 · 08/02/2007 13:27

Hi Joby

Thanks for the welcome and for the words of encouragement.

I did try speed foods at the beginning of this week, mushy peas to be precise. Oh boy! The wind!
My stomach blew up like a balloon!

I have just got myself a pedometer and am trying to exceed the recommended 10,000 steps per day BUT, that was before i discovered Mumsnet

But i will keep going to class, i think the weigh in will keep me on the straight and narrow, plus, i like getting the awards!

Joby1970 · 08/02/2007 13:49

I love mushy peas - always have a tin or 3 in the cupboard! I can even eat them cold

peachespaige · 08/02/2007 14:11

Thanks Shauna. I have fruit and very low fat natural yogurt for breakfast and I love it!! Lots of water melon and gala melon with strawberries, blueberries and banana. Im contemplating making cookies with my ds as hes bored, only not sure I trust myself.....

lurcherlass · 08/02/2007 15:59

Hey girls, still looking for low syn fat food. How many syns in a waggon wheel?? Bored of jacket potatoes, my latest green fix is spagetti with pesto. Highly recommended is roasted aubergine pesto, 2.5 syns per tab. Worth every syn!

Sparkler1 · 08/02/2007 22:36

Only one pound off for me on my first week back. I was slightly surprised though as I have been off work and laid up in bed for three days with flu type symptoms. I have hardly eaten anything.

fireflyfairy2 · 09/02/2007 12:28

Wagon wheels:

Double chocolate 8 syns
Jammie 8.5 syns
mini, crunchy 5.5 syns
original 8 syns

hth lurcherlass

ledodgy · 09/02/2007 12:29

Ok im on a mn meet up tonight at a mexican resteraunt wtf can I eat that's relatively low syn? I know about veggie chilli but what if they don't do this?

fireflyfairy2 · 09/02/2007 12:36

I have a food directory..under Mexican the best choices are:

chilli con carne 8.5 [or 10 on an original day]
Enchiladas [beef] 17
[Veg] 14
Guacomole 10
Loaded skins with sour cream dip 10 [or 15.5 for original]

Rice is free on green.... [as you well know!!]

veg chilli is 3.5 on a green day.

Tortilla chips & salsa are 18 both days

If there's anything specific you want to know I will happily consult my book for you

ledodgy · 09/02/2007 12:38

I really hope they ahve veg chilli then I can have a green meal with rice. I fthey don't i'll have to have a red day or mix 2 match and have meat chilli on it's own.

ledodgy · 09/02/2007 12:39

Oh is chilli con carne lower syn on a green than a red?

fireflyfairy2 · 09/02/2007 12:39

Can't you use 8.5 foe chilli con carne & have boiled rice?

fireflyfairy2 · 09/02/2007 12:40

Yes, it's just 8.5 on a green day

ledodgy · 09/02/2007 12:40

yes I can can't I! I was thinking it was 8.5 on red not green but that's brill if it's only 8.5 on green and i can have rice as well.

fireflyfairy2 · 09/02/2007 12:44

you might wanna stay away from the beef burritos [37syns]
chicken chimichangas [37.5]
chicken quesidillas [33.5]
veg fajitas [36]

shrinkingjeans · 09/02/2007 13:10

Hi everyone, I've been doing SW online since new year and I've managed to lose only 6 pounds...this might be why...
I fell asleep on the sofa last night next to dh.
He woke me up to go to bed, and while I was cleaning my teeth I noticed bits of crisp on my toothbrush.
I asked dh, "Have I eaten a crisp?"
He replied "You had about 5 or 6"
I had been eating crisps IN MY SLEEP!!
I'd asked for them - while asleep - and he gave them to me!
I could have choked to death!
What's worse - I couldn't even remember eating the farking things! I want to be able to enjoy my off-piste moments!
