starfairy - you came to the right place for support. like your name starfairy - just dust yourself off and think today is a new day.

do you meal plan? if not go and write down everything in your fridge/freezer/cupboards and see what slimming world meals you can make out of the items?

let us know. x

BigHotMama · 07/02/2007 11:13

Hi Karen, your doing so well! 4 stone in a year is do-able but seems like a huge mountain to climb..maybe I will set myself mini targets or treat myself when I get into the next stone-zone. Am in the 16 st zone at mo but would love to be 12. Feel crappy with cold n sore throat so am comfort eating today an now feeling GUILTY!

Starfairy, I find writing everything down sometimes helps you to realsie how much we are eating, or try keeping yourself busy and imagine your cleansing your body by eating healhy and drinking loads of water, good for the skin too.

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 11:21

BHM

Trust me I am not doing as well as I used to!

I find that if I set myself weight targets I put on weight!

I would get yourself a belt and use that to incentivise you. I also meal plan a lot but not this last week as I have been poorly.

Been drinking lots of beechams and medicine so am bound to put on this week.

BHM - once you get into the double figures of weight loss that will motivate you. We started off at similar weight. Do you log your loss online with slimming world?

x

BigHotMama · 07/02/2007 12:20

Ha lol I dont even own a belt, they just dont make em big enough ha ha! I'm still in my maternity trousers thankg god for them! Bought size 20 trousers for work, gutted as as even they were quite tight .

How many syns in a lemsip then? Had 2 already today!

Cant wait to get fit n slim again, my knees have started playing up lately and its got to be the extra weight I'm carrying.

Karen, I am logging it on slimming world too. Good to see it on the graph.

mammaemma · 07/02/2007 12:34

Hi Starfairy,

I have been dipping in and out of trying for the past six months and have found that you just have to have your mind in the right place and what helped me was a vision in my head of the clothes i would like to be wearing and how I would like to be looking by the summer. Each time I thinking of being bad i think of how disappointed I will be with myself in the summer if I am not there.
Also my friend lost 3 stone on slimming world and she made herself this gorgeous notebook which helped her. She used it a bit like a diary, At the front she had her vision, her goals (not just weight goals but things like, to feel good in clothes etc) she wrote recipes in there, measurements, everything. She would also write positives from the day so even if you may have slipped off track you could say well the postitive thing is I stopped myself having 2 doughnuts ( sparkler!), She also wrote in comments from people, "fred noticed my face looks slimmer" and that helped her keep on track loads. It was so lovely to read as well as a journey. Hope that helps.

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 12:38

bhm - i am only on notch 2 of my belt but at xmas it was notch 1.

i know the feeling - ok in 3 months time you will be telling me that your size 20 clothes fit and the 18's are coming out.

it will happen i promise

just stick to plan - 4 words i should listen to more often

x

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 12:39

not sure how many there are in a lemsip but they are quite high

its awful when you are ill but they have to put lots of sugar in it otherwise no one would touch lemsip

x

i should go and make some vegetable soup

loobysmum · 07/02/2007 12:40

Hi guys

Put on half a pound this week - thought I was doing ok, but wasn't counting things properly, so trying to be stricter this week. Made the SW recipe quorn cottage pie last night, and it wasn't too bad, tho' quorn seemed a bit dry (despite enough gravy to slop off the plate and go EVERYWHERE!! [GRIN]). Determined to get a loss this week before I undo the little bit of good work I've done. Hope everyone's colds get better soon ... its terrible to have to count the syns in medication, isn't it??

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 12:51

hi loobys

i put a tin of baked beans in my sw cottage pie it seems to do the trick.

once my mum (i was visiting her) made it for me but without the gravy, yuk!

ABOUT ME
when i weigh my a's and b's - i lose
when i meal plan - i lose
when i eat lots of superfree food - i lose
when i drink lots of water - i lose

So why don't i do it, because I think i can cheat the system

xx

BigHotMama · 07/02/2007 13:04

Lol Karen...loving them tips!
I think I can cheat the system by starting off good, then mid week i usually have some naughty food then am angelic 2 days before weigh in and usually seem to lose ...I know this wont last long the more weight I lose iyswim.

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 13:07

damn it bhm you found out my trick lol

i just love food that is naughty - lettuce leaves just don't taste as nice as a piece of scrummy choc cake or cheesecake or...........................

joiedjrfiodajfod - stuffing my face with cake

xx

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 13:09

did you see on the sw website about the slimathon for nspcc - couldn't work out how to do it as i would def want to do this

k xx

BigHotMama · 07/02/2007 13:10

Stop it Karen am drooling at the thoughts of cake....mmmm I'm a self confessed chocoholic too! Lettuce is yuk! Do you like the HiFi Bars? Just eaten an apricot and white chocolate one, only 6 syns or HE yipee!

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 13:13

i am addicted to the hi fi bars only 6 hours till i get my hands on some more.

i must say i love the choc and orange and the xmas selection

my class laugh at me cos i know most syns for chocolate stuff

i wouldn't waste a syn on real food just treat stuff

curly wurlys are a fav - 6.5 as a single purchase, but if you buy the multipack they are 6. oh and cad creme eggs 6.5 dangerous dangerous!!!!!

rustle rustle - karen can hear something. oh thats the kitkat i had 10 mins ago, ssshhh its wednesday no one will know, have another

x

ledodgy · 07/02/2007 13:17

LOL Karen your class is at the same time and day as mine. I've beens tuck in all week again due to children having chicken pox and i've not felt well either do feel better today though. Not looking forward to tonight as I haven't been able to exercise and although there's been days when i've not really felt well enough to eat at all there's also been other days where i've picked at the wrong things.

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 13:24

shake it off, get the dust off, pick yourself up and off you go again L

it is rubbish when the lo are ill and its so easy to eat the wrong foods..... maybe that is why i am cos i am eating the wrong foods

still no closer to making my soup by the way, just watching my lo snoring on the sofa, too cute to move her

i'm first in line for the hi fi's!!!!

x

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 13:25

i must have a hifi bar somewhere ........................... off to check everywhere possible

loobysmum · 07/02/2007 13:56

thanks for beans tip, Karen J - that should help keep the gravy on the plate! Sounds tasty too. I must start checking syns BEFORE I eat the food ... Sainsbury's low fat Chunky Red Thai Chicken Soup is 16.5 syns per carton - aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!! It was the "low fat" bit that fooled me. I only had half a carton, but still ... also having a World Flavours chicken and sweet chilli noodles salad (also Sainsbury's) and can't find a syn value for it ... probably about 2 zillion, with my luck . Bl69dy lovely, tho'!!

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 14:16

beans in cottage pie is fab.

i finally got off my lardy sw bum and put the veg soup on

roll on 20 mins till its done yummy

ooh loobs look out for those hidden syns, they are dangerous. only things i get from the supermarket with syns is......... chocolate!!!! x

starfairy · 07/02/2007 16:26

Sorry, for gatecrashing your thread earlier didn't realise u had to be in actual slimming club. Thanx 4 replying

karenj1980 · 07/02/2007 16:39

star fairy - u don't need to attend a club just following the sw plan xx

jenk1 · 07/02/2007 19:58

Apparantly somewhere on the net is a company selling sausages that are syn free on red days, im off to have a look unless anyone knows of the company?

Morrisons eat smart sausages are free on Red days ive been told tonight if thats any use to anyone

fireflyfairy2 · 07/02/2007 20:37

Come back starfairy!!!!!!!!!

You don't have to be in a club to join!! Some of the people here don't go to classes, but instead choose to follow the sw plan & log their weightloss here

I stayed the same this week, but am happy enough, seeing as how I was out for a meal 2 times at the weekend & had a wagon wheel on Sunday

Karen, I'm not sure about the nspcc slimathon online, but I got a form tonight from my leader so will try that for 6 weeks

Anyone who needs to know, the password for the site is CABBAGE

ledodgy · 07/02/2007 21:38
