tiger8565 · 22/01/2007 12:59

should i hide my scales? I think it's nice to track progress throughout the week...so if i'm not losing i change to superfree...but maybe thats the wrong attitude and I should try hard for the whole week.....hmmm.......

I'm so happy i'm under that 12st mark....now just to head for the next one....

tiger8565 · 22/01/2007 13:05

jenk1 - i only lost 2 in my first week, but have gone on to lose steadily and have now just lost a stone....so keep on going you'l get there

lurcherlass · 22/01/2007 14:22

Since I last posted I've been on a kind of mad bender, where I've stuffed myself with chinese, crisps, chocolate and biscuits. I even ate stuff I don't like- how mad is that! This always seems to happen when I diet, I can keep it up for a few months, then somehting "blows" in my head and I just go wild! I bet I'm not the only one? Back on plan today and feeling more in control. Frightened to weigh myself, but hoping to undo the damage I have probably done.

wuzzlefraggle · 22/01/2007 16:07

hi everyone

was just wondering if i could please join your thread as i have about a stone and a half ish to loose

so how does this thread work? do we do weekly weigh ins??

thought i may be a bit more successful in loosing the weight with a thread to do it with.

BigHotMama · 22/01/2007 17:16

Lurcher, your definately not on your own when it comes to binge eating madness. I have chocolate attacks when I'm doing really well then I get on the scales and discover pounds creeping on and get back on ploan quickly before WI.

Welcome Wuzzle, some of us go to classes and there are a few that are doing weekly weigh-ins, not sure who though. Good luck!

Will go check that Fajita recipe sounds yum.

mummyjx · 22/01/2007 17:35

Hi again all. Well done on losses. Have been absent as too ashamed to join in due to ... mad-bender-binge (lovely phrase l-l).
In my defence I did go for healthy forestry walk with the boys yesterday (only a mile and a half at DS2 pace, but more benficial than sitting in front of tv with novel and crisps?) and did not indulge in ice cream with them afterwards (or fish and chips like the people in the car next to me...maybe next week? Will walk further and take all terrain buggy...)
Will be back with you all - soonish!!!!!!
Good news though - I apparently weigh less than my sister (I know this is the WRONG place for smugness like that, but sometimes in some situations it's the little bitchy things that count)SORRY.

BENDYB · 22/01/2007 18:39

lurcherlass · 22/01/2007 19:08

Thanks for that BigHotMama, knowing I'm not the only one makes me feel a bit less mad!I feel fine again now I've had that bender! I stocked up on loads of good-for-you cakes and a few choccies. Decided that if I didnt "waste" any syns on proper food, I could indulge my sweet tooth a lot more? Concentrate on free foods and use my whole syn allowance on goodies hee hee. I just had a skinny cow triple choc lolly for 5 syns, it was lovely and lasted ages, so gave my gob something to do! Going down to Asda to stock up on the rest of the range. Welcome to the new girls, dont be put off by the ravings of a chocoholic LOL

StrawberrySnowflakes · 22/01/2007 19:45

How happy am I?!

Good luck to everyone this week.

Furball · 23/01/2007 06:20

wow mumbo jumbo absolutely well done. Fantastic news.

tiger8565 · 23/01/2007 11:26

possibly a really stupid question, but is it worth tailoring shirts once they are too big? As in relatively expensive suit shirts.... I love them...but unfortunately they are all too big and just not flattering....

mammaemma · 23/01/2007 11:32

Hi ladies, am just starting slimming world this week after having baby last june, Its the only diet that has ever worked for me in the past so here goes !! Got the equivalent weight of my daughter to lose, 20lbs which is scarey when i hold her!! Great idea to have thread like this as I am not going to be able to make a group session so i can use this as a boost instead. Great tip on the frozen fruit, frozen banana is lush and dd loves it when teething too. Yum :-). Also end up living on pasta n sauces as they are yummmmmy.
Anyway nice to meet you all ladies x

BigHotMama · 23/01/2007 11:33

Mummyjx, I wish I weighed lighter than my sister, she's always been the slim one - bitch! Nah love her to bits really, she isnt addicted to food like me lol. Good luck!

Well done Mumbo, didnt you have ghod loss last week aswell? Fantastic you got SOTW. What goodies did you get in your basket then?

Well I only lost 1/2 lb (6.5lb total in 2 wks) last night so bit gutted but didnt really stick to plan 100% so am determined this week to write everything down in a food diary as I forget how much I can put away on a daily basis. Seeing it on paper makes me think twice about what I eat lol.

Am going to Asda to stock up on grapes, bananas, yoghurts, wafer ham (loving cheese n ham toasties at mo) and maybe some smash to try out the smash pizza mmmm.

Good luck everyone!

Furball · 23/01/2007 13:26

I only got sotw once when I went to classes a few years back and most people had forgotten to bring in something and those that had it must have been lying in their fruit bowl for a week, yuck!

Mumbojumbo · 23/01/2007 14:11

I did really well with the SOTW selection.

I had a big selection of fruit including grapefruit, apples and oranges. Plus some tins of tuna, chopped tomatoes, soup, ryvitas minis, and a royal jelly body lotion!

BigHotMama · 23/01/2007 14:57

Ahhh Furball! Know what you mean though, shrivelled orange skins yuk! Sounds like you got a good selection there Mumbo. They are pretty good at our meeting too, with not just fruit but tinned stuff and packets of noodles, pasta'n'sauce. My mom had the cheek to take a weight watchers soup ha, the leader looked disgusted!

wuzzlefraggle · 24/01/2007 10:13

Hi Bendy!! wow, small cyber world eh? lol

nope, i dunno any of the rules, so can you fill me in?? and yeah i'll weigh in on a tuesday with you

mammaemma · 24/01/2007 16:42

wuzzlefraggle · 24/01/2007 16:53

wuzz- i dont really know exactly how 2 explain everything 2 u, i'm not good at explaining things! maybe u could get hold of 1 of the books somehow that has all the rules & stuff in it, i've seen them on ebay before, i'll have a look in a bit, or some1 might be able 2 email u some information? any1?

blossomsmine · 24/01/2007 19:23

I must be similar to you lurcherlass, I can be really good for a week or two and then slowly the treats start creeping in until I suddenly realise i am nolonger on a diet and then just give up! Feeling this about to start at the moment, but need to stay positive, its weigh in tomorrow and I am worried I won't have lost much although I have been good for about 80percent of the time. I just feel hungry and NEED chocolate, also need a few different evening meal ideas, getting fed up of beans and chopped tomatoes in everything! These Muller lite pudding things are they nice?

lurcherlass · 24/01/2007 19:25

I tried combining a mullerlite yog with the same amount of Fromage grais and a little sweetner. It made a nice big tub and was nice and creamy. I can also recommend Aisleys Harrissa chicken with sweet potatoes, cumin and ginger. If you like a bit of spice (who dosent !) this is for you.
