Mmmmm, I used to love that pasta and sauce when we were travelling - what a good excuse to buy in some cheese and broccolli ones....

First time we are so pleased to be losers eh?

ledodgy · 18/01/2007 13:07

I want my 3 stone back just for today when I have to pick dd up from preschool in this wind nearly got blown over on the way there!

Chilimama · 18/01/2007 14:31

I weighed in this morning and had lost 5lb so thats my 1st 1/2 stone sticker and I was slimmer of the week

Feeling really motivated and extra light due to being blown all the way home from my weigh in

Good luck to those who have not yet weighed in this week

mummyjx · 18/01/2007 18:45

Blossommine, 2 rowntrees fruit gums are 1 syn, those chocolate mallow teacakes are low syn too - 1.5 each I think. Unfortunately I can't think of anything else as I'm not convinced about frozen grapes or dipping strawberries in nutella! I once read somewhere that using vanilla flavoured moisturiser could help take the edge of sweet cravings because of the smell (or a little vanilla perfume or even vanilla essence on your wrist), I'm not sure if it works 'cos I hate the smell of vanilla!
Phwor - Jason Merrells is reading the cbeebies bedtime story. Sometimes I love my kids .
Well done on those losses everyone. I have gained but it's my own fault so I'll just pull myself together and get back to it ... soon.

Like Blossom, after 4 months on SW I am craving sweet things. I desperately wanted a chocolate biscuit or 3 today, but dont have them in the house, so ended up scoffing 4 mini mince pies and 6 Guylian shells and didnt want my quorn shepherds pie. It's like my body is saying, "OK, at first it was funny but now I want CHOCOLATE and LOADS of it!!! and dont give me those stupid little mini bar things, I mean LOADS of chocolate" Sorry, but I needed to get that out of my system...am I the only one that gets mad in the head for something choccy/cakey/bikkie?

rhysmiamum · 19/01/2007 11:52

Hi (not posted for ages on here so you probs don't know me, so hello!)

Going for an indian tonight - oh god??!!!

Any ideas on what to choose to stick to SW~?

.....must stick to diet.....!!

x

ledodgy · 19/01/2007 12:00

I had Veg Jalfrezi last week on a green day it was lovely as it's only 7.5 syns on green or Chicken Biryani 12.5 on green.
on red you could have chicken kashmiri for 9.5 syns, chicken tandori for 9 syns, lamb rogan josh for 6.5. I prefer the green options because at least plain rice is free on green so you can fill up with that with your meal. Stay away from Naan bread.

rhysmiamum · 19/01/2007 12:04

Nice one!

I prefer green days so will try that - no naan!!!

Cheers

rhysmiamum · 19/01/2007 12:09

Just a thought - if I choose a chicken or meat dish, can I deduct 6 syns from the syn value as a HE?

Joby1970 · 19/01/2007 12:58

also if you are going out for a curry - stick to the drier choices .. they tend to be lower in sins

ledodgy · 19/01/2007 13:19

Yeah you can count it as a healthy B on green.

BigHotMama · 19/01/2007 13:49

I'd go for a chicken tikka main or for a green day go for a chicken biryani...god I am dribbling at the thought.............

rhysmiamum · 19/01/2007 15:10

me too! Can't wait.

Thanks for advice....

just thought id let you know that i made the smash pizza for lunch and it was gorgeous.

DH also had a piece and he said it was nice, next time though i will have to roll it out really thing cos around the outside it was very crisp but in the middle it was a bit soggy, still lovely though.

Tonight for dinner im making slimming World free chips with a tin of heinz spaghetti bolognaise which is 3 syns for the whole tin.

You are all talking about quiche and i cant find it, can someone tell me about the quiche recipe if you wouldnt mind?

TIA

Rooicosta · 19/01/2007 17:47

Quiche Recipes Jenk1 as requested:

Pasta Quiche
Make up a packet of Batchelors Pasta n? Sauce as directed on the packet but using only water, whisk in 4 eggs, pour into a flan dish and stick it in the oven until set (about 30-40 minutes, gas 6).
MAKE SURE PASTA SAUCE IS FREE ONE - or Syn accordingly
FREE on Green

Rice Quiche
Make up a packet of Batchelors Savoury Rice as directed, whisk in 4 eggs and a large tub of very low fat cottage cheese. Season to taste. Pour into a flan dish and cook in the oven for about 30-40 minutes, gas 6, till firm to the touch.
FREE on Green

Onion & Leek Quiche (A Firm Favourite)
Chop 1 large onion and 2 leeks and sauté in Frylight till soft and golden. Put them into a flan dish. Whisk 4 large eggs with a large tub of very low fat cottage cheese, Season to taste, pour over the onion & leeks and put in the oven till set (again about 30-40 minutes on gas 6).
FREE on Green and Original

You can experiment with these and add bacon or gammon etc., on a red day too. Also a veggie one is nice with loads of mushrooms, chopped peppers, onion, fresh chopped tomatoes, sweetcorn etc., with 6 eggs instead of 4. You can even add HE portion of cheese to the top! Yum, enjoy x

jenk1 · 19/01/2007 18:42

you are a star.........thanks very much

BENDYB · 19/01/2007 19:52

onion & leek 1 sounds nice! gonna try that pizza aswell,
made sheperds pie 4 dinner, used beanfeast instead of mince, was really nice!

blossomsmine · 20/01/2007 23:48

Thanks to all of you for the sweet craving hints! Lurcherlass I am the same as you I seem to be always fighting the cravings for chocolate/cakes etc.,! Tonight I am drinking tons of Pepsi Max to try and fill myself up.
Does anyone know the online password this week? forgot to look whilst at slimming club this week and need to check some syn values!
Love the quiche idea, might do that tomorrow. Anyone got the butternut squash recipe that someone was talking about on here the other day?
Be good fellow dieters!!!

jenk1 · 21/01/2007 15:24

oh dear, since friday ive been having a "flexible syns weekend", It started when DH bought me some chocolate and last night he went out and got a chinese and i ate it

He thinks im silly for being on a diet and should love myself for myself despite my telling him that i dont like the way i look.

Anyway, today,s a new day and im not letting this ruin anything, even if i have put on/maintained im still going to carry on as i am enjoying the diet.

In the past i would have thought, right thats it i cant do it but not this time im determined to see it through!!!!!

blossomsmine · 21/01/2007 22:39

jenkl - you are so right, I have given up at times like that before, but you just have to keep going and not let a few mad moments ruin the whole healthy eating thing!
I tried to make the tomatoe and basil fritata (on the website) today but it wouldn't set and ended up just as mush! We ate it anyway but has anyone else had more luck with this one?
Really need chocolate right now!!

bucksmum · 22/01/2007 07:11

password this week blossomsmine is calcium

Furball · 22/01/2007 08:38

Budababe · 22/01/2007 09:07

Hi - haven't posted for a while - weighed myself this morning and have lost over a kilo! Very happy as tbh have been totally OFF diet for about a week!

Back at it today though although sushi lunch again. Off to look on website for inspiration for dinner.

tiger8565 · 22/01/2007 12:57

thanks for the advice ref changing what i eat etc... I have been sticking pretty much to red days, and wow did it make a difference....then i went astray and probably cancelled out the good work but i'm still hoping for a loss tomorrow!!

If anybody else love fajita's like I do...go to the website, recipe find, type in fajita....It's as good if not better than the bought one!! I had no qualms serving it up to friends yummy....if you find you have left over filling, have it cold in spare wraps next day or mix with pasta or rice for a green day...
