Is that a bit like eating chocolate with your eyes shut so you can't see it? I love these theories - perhaps that confirms my commitment to dieting?

blossomsmine · 16/01/2007 23:20

Yeah those tiny little creme eggs are free on green (i am on green) cos they are called eggs, so thats good then.
Bethandherbrood - that dish of chocolates? What kind of dish? Small soap dish size or large wok dish size?

pmoore · 17/01/2007 08:31

Hello-
Just been reading through the thread- it seems great- can I join you all.

Life history!- Lost 3 stone on SW diet in 18 months then got pregnant in Jan 2006. Goodness knows how much weight I put on- must have been 6 stone. Got that 3 stone to lose again. Baby girl is 14 weeks old and have been back to SW club for one weigh in- lost 6.5lb first week. Wednesdays are my weigh in days. Am finding it difficult with LO so some support needed- HELP!

tiger8565 · 17/01/2007 08:35

you've come to the right place for support

i've relooked at what i'm eating, spent a small fortune last night though on stuff to pick at for the next 2 days, (i'm on the road and wanted to avoid having an excuse to go in a petrol station and hence eat crap...)

red days it is, lucky it's cold, so i can leave food in the car over night

BigHotMama · 17/01/2007 09:33

I lost 6 lbs at my 1st WI so am really chuffed. Off to the gym later to burn some flab. No Strawberry i'm definatey not ttc, have already got my 22 wk old ds to cope with lol.

I find filling in a tracker sheet is good for people who want to get back on plan, sometimes we dont realise how much we eat until you see it written down?

All this talk of cadbury creme eggs is making me dribble .

My mom made a beaut QUICHE last night and totally free on the green plan.. Basically cook a Batchelors pasta n sause - one thats free obviously, add chopped cooked mushrooms, onions, sweetcorn, half pot of plain cottage cheese, whick 4 eggs over the top and grated cheese (HE) and bake for about 10-20 minutes, it was truly scrumptious and so easy to make.

BENDYB · 17/01/2007 09:58

hey pmoore! welcome!

lost 2lb this week,
bhm- i've made that quiche b4, lovely isn't it, i sometimes put brocolli & tomatoes in it aswell.

BigHotMama · 17/01/2007 10:07

Hi Bendy. forgot to mention the tomoatoes oops ! Well done on the loss.

Rooicosta · 17/01/2007 10:46

OMG, What am I doing?! I had half a large bar of Cadbury Fruit & Nut and half a large bag of onion rings with my h2b last night!!!
Didn't have my tea though so maybe I can offset that against it?!!!

Is anyone else finding it hard to get back on plan after Xmas? My problem is there's too many goodies still in the house!!

Someone please give me a kick up the bum! (it was lovely though...sorry, that's not the point!).

tiger8565 · 17/01/2007 10:57

Well as long as you enjoyed what you did have, and if there are still goodies in the house either get rid or ration and ENJOY, savour them as little treats use them as your sins for the next couple oof weeks alongside your healthy free food

Have a party to get rid, make everyone else eat them, or take it all into work or something? ;) but don't buy any more...

make sure you're full, drink loads of water etc. Don't kick yourself for last night, or you'll fall of the bandwagon.

BigHotMama · 17/01/2007 11:30

I have hidden the goodies away in cupboards or by DH's side of the bed as if I see them I know I will pick at them. I saved a small box of ferrero rochers as a treat after weigh-in. out of sight out of mind I believe, or get your h2b to hide them.

tiger8565 · 17/01/2007 11:41

weigh in night doesn't count You can have what you want as your treat night as you only really start counting tomorrow

Joby1970 · 17/01/2007 13:17

Does anybody else watch YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT... why does that woman make them eat such unappetising food? & she doesn't look healthy either. I find myself sitting shouting at the TV!!

mummyjx · 17/01/2007 15:18

My DH HATES the scottish stick insect with a passion. I find watching the programme with something delicious to eat quite satisfying (especially if it's something she would put on the "table"). She certainly doesn't look a picture of health, all pale and scrawny, and surely her bedroom activity doesn't warrant all those nuts anyway?

Re creme eggs (again) - even better if it works like juicing fruit (ie, can EAT fruit for free, but juicing it adds syns) so surely then the big ones would be free as they generate more satisfaction than the little ones?

loobysmum · 17/01/2007 16:34

Hi everyone
Haven't been on for a few days and there's like about a million new messages (well,OK, maybe 50 or so ...). Will have to read through them later. Had my first weigh-in on Mon night and have lost 4lbs!!! Hoorah! Have been a bit naughty today tho' so will have to get back into it tomorrow. KWYM about Gillian McKeith. She's hardly a glowing advertisement for what she advocates. She looks like the "runt of the litter", I always think (miaow!)

lurcherlass · 17/01/2007 19:08

Paul Merton said if you are what you eat, she looks like she eats shrews! hee hee I, on the other hand, am egg-shaped, sweet and brown with a very soft centre...

Fireflyfairy2 · 17/01/2007 20:00

Hi everyone

Not been on for a few days as I was off the plan due to not being able to cook or exercise So I basically had what I wanted. Still am not well so missed my weigh in tonight, byt will be up & at it tomorrow with a vengance

Well done everyone on your losses

Welcome all the new members

jenk1 · 17/01/2007 20:00

Weigh in tonight, lost 2 pounds-bit disappointing for my first week but my consultant said just think of it as you are 2 pounds lighter than you were last week, well done!!!!!

We were given a really yummy sounding recipe tonight smash pizza

packet of smash, make up with boiling water but only a bit so its like dough, roll it out, make sure you roll it on a baking tray like a pizza/chip tray cos it sticks.

Cook in oven for 10mins until crisp.

Add passata, mushrooms, peppers, onions and cheese from your HE allowance if wanted then put back in oven.

Sounds really nice, the consultant said she made it for her husband and he didnt even realise he was eating smash!!!!!!

Fireflyfairy2 · 17/01/2007 20:02

Mmmmm that sounds delicious!!! Will have to give it a go!!

TheWillowTree · 17/01/2007 21:01

Hi all

Did not too well yesterday as dh away and not much food in the house so took the macaroni cheese proffered by mother, only to find it was tesco Finest and nearly 30 syns

Oh well it was worth it

Delighted tonight to find that my fave Quon sausages are FREE so have just eaten 4 plus a Muller light and a bowl of the kids grapes. Managing to ignore the chocolate cravings and recovering from finding dh had hidden th kids shampoo so i could not wash thier hair after swimming (knowing him has taken it away with him )

Like the sound of that quiche - saw it on the website. Which pasta and sauces are free (and meat free)? I may make it tomorrow for lunch.

I find the canteen at work really hard at the moment to find something suitable, altho I managed OK today with a jacket spud and 2 babybels, banana and Muller light (vanilla - very synthetic yellow colour and strange taste, shall avoid that in future!)

Hard to tell what of the salad bar has dressing / oil on so I tend to avoid it

Well done on all the losses - it is great to hear ho well everyone is doing, keeps up the motivation.

Hi, I got weighed tonight and lost 3 pounds! I'm really pleased am now half a pound lighter than before Christmas and half a pound to go till I get my 3 stone award!

blossomsmine · 17/01/2007 23:19

Love that quiche recipe. Anyone got any good ideas for snacks in the evening (other than creme eggs!) preferably sweet as this is my problem time and I am finding it sooooooo hard. I know i will come off SW soon if i cannot find something to snack on at night!

hollyg · 18/01/2007 11:16

Morning all!

Was so tired yesterday that i just wanted to eat stodge so i did! went to gym on tuesday night and popped in pub afterwards (like you do!) and had 3 drinks and felt hungover yesterday- what a lightweight, probably because ive not been drinking much at all since New Year and the fact i hardly got any sleep.

Anyways, when boyf/h2b decided he wanted to go out for a meal last night i was so hungry i ordered what i would have normally- it was an italian tapas style so mini pizza, mini pasta bruschetta garlic prawns and tomato salad all swimmiing in olive oil!!! oh and 2 large glasses of red wine.

so its safe to say i used up my syns for the week, until tuesday! and i was meant to be saving them up as i'm out on sat night! whoops.

Was gorgeous though, if i'd only seen the smash pizza before i went would have made that instead!!! (yeah, right!)

5 syn free days and a syn free weekend to look forward to! wahoo oh well!

well done on everyone's losses

laundrylover · 18/01/2007 12:01

Hello,

I'm a SW newbie but lost 5lb this week so am feeling very proud of myself. I want to lose about 4 stones overall but I haven't set a target weight yet.

Hope I can join you for recipe ideas and bum kicks etc.

Last night at the meeting we tried the new Ryvita minis and would recommend the caramel ones as a good sweet snack for chomping on the sofa in front of the telly - not quite a box of thorntons but I guess those days are gone.

BigHotMama · 18/01/2007 12:54

Must try the smash pizza sounds too good to be true.

The pasta n sauce which are free on green are cheese & broccoli, chicken & mushroom, mushroom & wine, I use the macaroni cheese which is 2 syns. Am cooking the quiche again tonight for dh to sample.

Well done to all the losers (this reads so wrong ha!)
