9lbs in 3 weeks, who's with me?

I've been hovering around 12 stone for 2 years now. I'd really like to get back to my pre baby weight of 10 stone 7, I've lost and gained a few pounds over the last few months and find it so boring.

I've got a big event in 3 weeks time where all my friends will be looking gorgeous and skinny. I've lost 3lb in the last couple of weeks and am currently 11.9, so far I've been avoiding carbs as much as possible and eating tons of veg. It goes well until the weekend when I eat and drink too much. Think I need to ditch the booze for the next little while.

I'd love to get as close to 11 as possible, I know it's a lot off weight in not long but if I'm really disciplined I think it could happen (maybe, possibly)

Does anyone want to join me?

I have almost the same goal as you BrandNew, 10.7 by the first week of April.

My weight loss has slowed but only to the extent that I don't think it's healthy for me to be consuming 7000 calories less a week at the moment to get 2lb a week, whereas I could when I weighed a bit more.

I'm aiming for 1.5lb loss this week but then I'm going to slow it right down to 1lb a week so I can still eat a decent amount of food.

Current weight today is 11 stone dead. Can't wait to be 10 something (hopefully next week!)

peasareevilcreatures · 02/03/2016 13:19

I've lost in total 16lbs since 12/01/16 (first week was 5lb off so it's been pretty steady since then) Smile

ppeatfruit · 02/03/2016 16:07

Wow that's good peasare Grin

CoperCabana · 02/03/2016 17:42

Well done Peas! I am one more down, so I think 4 lbs since thread started. Can't see how I will lose another 5 by Monday!

peasareevilcreatures · 02/03/2016 18:59

Wow CoperCabana you are doing so well.

There's no way I'll get to 9lb either but if I make it to 4.5lb I'll be happy with halfway.

CoperCabana · 04/03/2016 10:01

Well I am getting freaked out. I have lost another 3 pounds since I posted! Starting to think there is something wrong with me. I haven't exercised all week as my daughter is ill. Maybe nervous energy as it has been such a stressful week. I have been eating a very low cal diet, having been inspired by the Blood Sugar Diet thread and book.

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2016 10:06

Just walking around the house is exercise!!! I haven't needed extra exercise to lose weight.

peasareevilcreatures · 04/03/2016 10:16

You're having a whoosh CoperCabana where you lose a big amount at once. It'll probably settle down again so I wouldn't worry (but obviously get medical advice if it continues).

In reality you would have had to consume 10500 less calories than you burned to lose 3lb, so if you've been really active and and not eating much that could explain it but it's a pretty extreme loss.

Try not to stay on a VLCD for too long as you'll lose lean muscle as well as fat and long term it's not healthy. Try not to eat below your BMR as your body needs those calories. Your deficit should come from your BMR plus activity calories (TDEE).

I do eat below my BMR a few days a week but well over on other days so it evens out over the week. I had a low calorie day yesterday and went to the gym and felt weak.

Just to add I'm now 10.13 so another lb off. 4 in total since the start of the thread. And I'm finally in the 10's!!

peasareevilcreatures · 04/03/2016 10:23

ppeatfruit exercise isn't required to lose weight. It's only eating less than you burn that makes you lose weight which ever way you do it or which diet you chose to follow.

Exercise just lets you eat a bit more while you're dieting and gives you a bigger deficit that might speed up the weight loss and tones up the muscles underneath.
But lean muscle burns more calories than fat!

CoperCabana · 04/03/2016 11:58

Thanks for the advice and reassurance. I have over a stone to lose to get to 25 BMI and then I will work out the calories I need. I ate pizza yesterday and will have wine tonight so I expect to see some creep back on!

peasareevilcreatures · 04/03/2016 12:12

I'm 25.5 at the moment, almost into healthy BMI at last :)

A stone isn't that much to lose especially as you've had such a good loss at the beginning.

I think slow and steady is better from here on out as you feel less like you're depriving yourself as you can eat more and have those treat days and still lose and be more likely to stick it out.

I've had enough of trying to lose 2lb week (ironically this week I have, my plan up thread seems to have worked so far).
1lb or even half a pound a week is enough for me from now on (hopefully might almost be around 10.7 by my holiday that way too).

CoperCabana · 04/03/2016 13:01

Well done Peas!
I have a family event at the beginning of May which I would like to lose the final stone by. I guess that is about 8 weeks so will see how I go. I don't actually feel that deprived but I do feel more determined than ever so fingers crossed.

CoperCabana · 04/03/2016 13:05

How are you doing Brand and everyone else?

BrandNewSlippers · 08/03/2016 09:15

Sorry everyone, I was away for the weekend and didn't have time to update. I was 11 St 3lb on Saturday, which I was pleased with. More importantly I felt great!

I'm now back up to 11 5 but given how much I ate and drank at the weekend it could have been so much worse. I'm just gonna plod on now and hopefully get to 10 7 by April, nice to have a buddy peas!

Hope you're all doing well

BrandNewSlippers · 08/03/2016 09:29

I've just realised April is just over 3 weeks away and that's a pretty unrealistic goal!

OP posts:
peasareevilcreatures · 10/03/2016 11:11

How about below 11 by April instead, you'll make that Smile

I'm hoping for 10.12 by tomorrow, the scales said that today but if I see it 2 days in a row I'll believe it more.

I've got a nice quiet weekend planned (famous last words) so hopefully won't fall off the wagon too much.

I'm still keeping to two 800 cal days and two 1200 at the beginning of the week to give me more wiggle room at weekends and it seems to be working although last sunday I managed to almost blow my whole week of dieting in one day!!

BrandNewSlippers · 11/03/2016 11:59

Did you do it peas?! Either way so great to be seeing the 10s. I'm so impressed with how steadily you're loosing weight and for quite a few months now. I feel like I can make a reall concerted effort for a few weeks then I get bored.

I think 11 by April is much more sensible, I've really relaxed this week, not actually put anything on, just maintained. Will get back on it properly next week.

Have a good quiet weekend.

Well done everyone Grin Flowers

peasareevilcreatures · 11/03/2016 14:29

Yes, I nice solid 10.12 on the scales this morning Smile, it's so great seeing the 10's on my scale at last.

I have this holiday to look forward to, (4 weeks tomorrow) so that has kept me super motivated. Also, seeing the numbers go down motivates me too.
And clothes....getting in things I haven't worn for ages.

I'm going to try and keep it up after I come back but at a much slower rate, so I don't really feel like I'm dieting.

Have you had the event yet in your original post BrandNew was that last weekend? How did it go? You were 6lb down from your OP which is fantastic, did you feel fabulous?!

CoperCabana · 11/03/2016 15:06

Well done Peas! I am weight neutral this week after my whoosh last week! Not too disappointed, especially as it is pre menstrual week and also after a massive blow out on Sunday. My next target is going to be 9lbs by May. I still have at least a stone to lose, so hoping this is achievable.

peasareevilcreatures · 15/03/2016 12:54

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing this week?

My weekend was a bit topsy turvy in that I didn't eat very much at all and the scales were actually down yesterday. Will post at the end of the week to see if it was a proper loss.

CoperCabana · 15/03/2016 19:45

Well I nudged a final pound off over the weekend, but went up loads on Monday! I would hope to get back down by Friday but period week always tricky. Felt a bit demoralised as saw some friends at the weekend who I haven't seen since xmas, and the didn't notice my loss! :-(
But trying to stay motivated and bagged my steps and activity on Fitbit today and yesterday, and back on the diet plan after drinking too much wine at the weekend!

peasareevilcreatures · 16/03/2016 10:24

Well done on your loss Coper, we notice it!! My DP always tells people about me losing weight so they have no choice but to notice!

Don't get demoralised though, onwards and upwards (downwards on the scale!)

ppeatfruit · 16/03/2016 10:36

I always tell people about my dh's attempt to lose weight but by the time they see him he's given up on it. ! peasare He goes on Lent and has no alcohol, but makes up for it by stuffing tons of cheese!

CoperCabana · 16/03/2016 12:38

Just been out for a loooooooong (I got a bit lost!) and 'tucked in' to my salad so am keeping my pecker up! Scales looked a bit more healthy this morning!
