9lbs in 3 weeks, who's with me?

I've been hovering around 12 stone for 2 years now. I'd really like to get back to my pre baby weight of 10 stone 7, I've lost and gained a few pounds over the last few months and find it so boring.

I've got a big event in 3 weeks time where all my friends will be looking gorgeous and skinny. I've lost 3lb in the last couple of weeks and am currently 11.9, so far I've been avoiding carbs as much as possible and eating tons of veg. It goes well until the weekend when I eat and drink too much. Think I need to ditch the booze for the next little while.

I'd love to get as close to 11 as possible, I know it's a lot off weight in not long but if I'm really disciplined I think it could happen (maybe, possibly)

Does anyone want to join me?

Going out is always a challenge Grin I find with the P.M. that I physically can't eat 3 courses any more it makes me feel ill. So I stick to either a starter and a main or a main and a dessert (depending on the menu of course Grin ). Annoyingly dh has a favourite restaurant that serves 6 courses without any trouble!

And I leave the croissants and baguettes to our indulgent guests Grin.

peasareevilcreatures · 25/02/2016 09:37

Mmmm croissants and bagels (drool!)

I've just had a rep bring in 2 bags of cookies to the office for me....I've left them in the kitchen for everybody else!

ppeatfruit · 25/02/2016 09:48

I nearly dropped through the floor when I saw them making croissants on the Bake Off there is Icm of butter between EVERY layer of pastry!!

As DD2 says no wonder they taste so good!

lorelei9 · 25/02/2016 10:33

pea - I weighed in in the morning before the meal!

never mind, it was just one day. As I say, fasting today so it should be all right.

I can't eat 3 courses either, never have been able to. I don't feel I'm missing out either. 2 is my max!

ppeatfruit · 25/02/2016 11:34

lorelei One of the best things about Paul Mackenna (I know I go on about it but it is so brilliant Grin ) is that he says if you go off it just get back onto it i, so don't say " I've spoiled it all, might as well give up".

I think that might be why some of us are slimmer than others . Apart from the really skinny ones who can't put on weight at all of course!

lorelei9 · 25/02/2016 11:45

peat - glad you liked Paul MckEnna but it was a disaster for me

However, I don't tend to worry about falling off the wagon as I do just get back on. but last night was a bit of a shame because a) I have a doc appointment soon where I have to show a good loss and b) I have 2 meals out on Friday and Sunday (though tbh I am really hoping to get out of the Sunday one).

I was actually wondering if there's something Paul McK connected about this thread because in that case I might be better hopping on another one?

ppeatfruit · 25/02/2016 11:56

I was applying the advice generally, no this isn't a Paul Mackenna thread, I just lost weight on his way of eating and like to recommend parts of it . We all succeed using different ways.

Good luck with the weekend Grin

lorelei9 · 25/02/2016 12:37

Thanks Peat!

peasareevilcreatures · 26/02/2016 07:49

The weekend is upon us.....forget the scales until at least tuesday!
How's everyone doing?

BrandNewSlippers · 26/02/2016 10:27

Well done continuing the weight loss peas! It's great when the weekend lbs come off again quickly.

I think that's what's worked for me this time, I'm still having occasional take always etc but I'm then sticking with the diet the rest of the time. Previously I'd eat a pizza and then thick fuck And give up.

I'm on 11 St 5lb this morning, so I'm loose about 2lbs a weeks like you peas.

How good does it feel to be the right side of 11 and a half BrandNew ?

Congratulations on your loss, you're doing really well!

lorelei9 · 26/02/2016 11:33

Wow
Forgetting the scales all weekend?
I eat much less at the weekend because I'm not in the office Grin

CoperCabana · 26/02/2016 13:44

Well I am 2 and a half pounds down this week. Nothing last week due to pesky period but pleased where I am at! Even though I have only lost a couple of pounds, I feel loads trimmer because of the exercise I am doing! I know I will cheat a bit at the weekend but am feeling really positive at the moment!

lorelei9 · 26/02/2016 15:58

Copper, well done!

DeliveredByKiki · 26/02/2016 16:21

Hey everyone - congrats on weight loss copper and brandnew and peas!

Hmmmm not sure I will forget about it too much over the weekend, but will stick to my 16:8 at least - we're going away for the weekend I know there will be pizza and pasta involved and I'll prob break my no alcohol and have a glass of wine.

Yesterday I inadvertently did 18:6, I don't recommend it!

I've managed to do either yoga or a bike ride or a hike every day this week which feels good. BUT I weighed myself a few days ago and was 2lbs down, and this morning back up another 1.5lbs! I think I should stick to weekly weighing, I fluctuate so much

BrandNewSlippers · 26/02/2016 18:14

I go up and down loads too Kiki, but somehow find weighing dIly keeps me on track otherwise it's almost like I forget and just eat normally.

Well done on your weight loss coper, it's great when you start to feel slimmer to isn't it? ive been seeing the scales going down but it's only the last couple of days I've felt slimmer.

Peas it's feels great to be closer to 11 than 12! It's great to be properly in a healthy bmi range rather than on the cusp of over weight which is what I was at 12 St (I'm quite tall)

Have a good weekend everyone

I've got a weird question... Is there any way to get weight off a particular area? So at the moment all my weight is coming off my tummy but I'd really like it to come off my thighs and bum. I know exercise is probably the answer but thing is my legs get super chunky whenever I do legs specific exercise. Has anyone got the secret

OP posts:
CoperCabana · 26/02/2016 19:01

Thanks all. Feeling chuffed but know I will splurge tonight!

I don't know about how to lose specific weight. I don't want to lose my boobs but am sure to, and my tummy has now gone quite flat, but I need to lose my tummy width if you see what I mean and my flabby thighs and bingo wings! I sound so attractive!

CoperCabana · 26/02/2016 19:01

Also meant to say well done to Brandnew and peas and anyone else who has lost weight.

peasareevilcreatures · 27/02/2016 14:46

Well done on the losses everyone.

Unfortunately you can't spot reduce any areas through diet but exercise will tone up the muscles under the fat.
As your body fat percentage goes down you lose fat from all over. Annoyingly it seems it's the areas that we don't like which are the last to go.
Mines my tummy, I got in a size 10 dress today which has been hanging on my wardrobe as an incentive but the tummy is still sticking out! And I've done loads and loads of ab exercises while I've been dieting.

peasareevilcreatures · 27/02/2016 14:49

Brandnewslippers I've heard running is great for toning up legs and bum.
That's why I'm doing couch to 5k.

CoperCabana · 27/02/2016 15:06

Yeah I definitely feel more toned on my legs and bum. Been doing loads of walking and keep trying to do c25k.

Another lb down today - well chuffed!

ppeatfruit · 29/02/2016 10:18

Well done all the 'losers' Grin I walk about the house on my tiptoes and pull my belly in when at the sink or computer, that does wonders for my muscle tone!

peasareevilcreatures · 29/02/2016 16:37

Happy Monday everyone.
I'm using MFP to calorie count at the moment and fasted (only one day in the end) last week and I've got a plan.
My 1200 MFP figure a day goes out of the window at weekends so I'm worrying about it slowing my weight loss. I find the 500 cal fast days quite tough but they do help balance out the weekends.
I'm aiming for a 5250 calorie deficit now to lose 1.5lb a week so I've decided to try cycling my calories. I burn on average 2150 a day according to my fitbit stats. So I'm going to do 2 days at 800 cals, 2 at 1200 and then spread the rest of the deficit over the 3 weekend days meaning I'll be ok up to about 1600 calories on those days and maybe more if I get more exercise calories to burn.
Just putting it on here so I can come back in a week and see if it works. After having been on a diet since Jan I'm struggling with momentum at the moment.
Might seem a bit regimented but I'm a bookkeeper so I like figures haha!

BrandNewSlippers · 01/03/2016 14:13

Well done on your weight loss coper, you're doing really well

Sounds like a very sensible plan peas, have you found your weight loss has slowed down after dieting for a little while or had it been pretty steady?

I think running might be the answer to my bum and thigh "problem" if I do exercise that really targets that area like squats or cycling then they get bigger not smaller!

I had a pretty boozy/ foody saturday but didn't eat much on Sunday as was feeling the consequences. I was up to 11; 8 on Monday morning but back down to 11; 5 this morning. Peas I think you're right about avoiding the scales after the weekend. I'm feeling really motivated for the next few days, the big do is on Saturday so would love to be as slim as poss for that and then think I'll keep going. I was 10; 7 when I got pregnant and would love it if I could get there by the end of March.

How's everyone else getting?
