9lbs in 3 weeks, who's with me?

BrandNewSlippers · 15/02/2016 12:48

I've been hovering around 12 stone for 2 years now. I'd really like to get back to my pre baby weight of 10 stone 7, I've lost and gained a few pounds over the last few months and find it so boring.

I've got a big event in 3 weeks time where all my friends will be looking gorgeous and skinny. I've lost 3lb in the last couple of weeks and am currently 11.9, so far I've been avoiding carbs as much as possible and eating tons of veg. It goes well until the weekend when I eat and drink too much. Think I need to ditch the booze for the next little while.

I'd love to get as close to 11 as possible, I know it's a lot off weight in not long but if I'm really disciplined I think it could happen (maybe, possibly)

Does anyone want to join me?

When you're going caffeine free, try green tea, jasmine is nice scribble I like mint and green tea which is lovely and you can get it anywhere. It has much less caffeine, is very good for you and helps you detox gently. At home I have 2 mint teabags per cup (or mint and green together), it is a much nicer flavour.

Also ginger is fab.

scribblegirl · 16/02/2016 11:13

Absolutely ppeatfruit - my weird thing about Jasmine tea is that it reminds me of being at a Chinese restaurant so feels sort of indulgent even thought it's not!

Someone is cooking popcorn in the work microwave, whole place smells like an Odeon! Envy

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2016 11:49

If you actually are looking at the Paul Mackenna and you're hungry have some popcorn scribble !! Another fab thing about P.M. is if you overeat on one day you can just start back on it the meal or the next day!!

BrandNewSlippers · 16/02/2016 11:55

Sounds like everyone's doing well today, so hard to resist popcorn!

It's actually my 30th party I'm going to scribble!

Doing ok so far today, had a grapefruit for breakfast and planning on having tomato soup for lunch. I'm at home doing a job application today so going to have to work hard not to eat out of boredom.

I've not had any tea today, not really done it consciously just weirdly off it for the last couple of days. I love jasmine tea, haven't had any for agrees. Know what you mean about the chinesevrestaurant

I normally weigh myself everyday to try to keep myself on track but was thinking of doing a kind of "official" weigh in on Fridays.

I'm actually quite tempted by PM's book ppeatfruit - I'm guessing you recommend?

Popcorn would be fine if someone would offer me some, but I don't know who has it and I'm worried it's going to set off a crisp craving Grin. I may just have to go around sniffing my co-workers until I find the culprit and demand some

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2016 12:01

Yes of course ! You can get apps.DVDs, CDs.etc. He's written a lot, the hypnosis gastric band oone is weird IMO and doesn't work for many people ( I used to be on the dedicated thread to the I Can Make You Thin one). I just wanted to be slim and Iam now Grin ,not thin. Grin

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2016 12:02

Oh without any extra exercise or gym membership btw!!

peasareevilcreatures · 16/02/2016 12:14

I'm trying to lose weight for a holiday in 8 weeks time, lost a stone since xmas and have just under a stone to go. Currently losing around 2lb a week so not sure if I'd make 9lb in 3 weeks.
I'm doing a combination of 16:8 and low carb, high fat and ramping up the exercise.

Lunch today was 2 boiled eggs, 2 slices of ham and 2 babybels with some rocket. Going to have portobello mushrooms stuffed with stilton for tea and I might do some potato free bubble and squeak to go with it and some salad.
I don't eat breakfast but the boiled eggs keep me full for ages.

Don't drink much coffee but a tea with one sugar in the morning is the one thing I haven't changed, that's what wakes me up in the morning.

I normally weigh in on a saturday morning and relax with the low carbs at the weekend.

peasareevilcreatures · 16/02/2016 12:17

Oh I'm currently 11.3 and want to be at least 10.7 by the time I go on holiday, any more than that is a bonus.

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2016 12:24

Welcome peas I always have a filtered water by my bed, you may find just maybe having a green tea in the morning will help for the final push!

Firstmum24 · 16/02/2016 12:47

Can I join? I have holiday coming up and would like to be back to about 10st for that.
I bought a shit ton on veg and little individual portion food containers. Ive made two big pots of soup so far, a pasta free minestrone and a roasted sweet potato and carrot, all portioned up and in the freezer.
Going to also do a roasted red pepper and tomato and a roasted tomato with balsamic vinegar.
Idea is to have soup (which i know is totally healthy because i made them myself - no shite in them) for lunch and for a snack if i get hungry later in the day. then have fish and veg for tea (those fish pouches in parsley sauce and steam veg pouches)
Drink lots of water and green tea.
Do post natal pilates dvd twice a week (a strain even at 4months pp!!)
Long walks with the pram, weather permitting.

I used to be a skinny mini but really enjoying my new curves, just need to tone up and lose the excess fat thats hugging my curves Wink

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2016 16:47

I'm sure that'll be fine Firstmum Grin Brandnewslippers Where are you? I don't want to take over your thread Grin how's it going?

KERALA1 · 16/02/2016 20:09

Pizza restaurant today as half term treat with dh and kids. I had a salad and left restaurant hungry. Then beef stew with a few noodles (small portion) for dinner. One coffee one tea. No snacks. How does victoria beckham do it?

Splitting headache...

BrandNewSlippers · 16/02/2016 20:31

I'm here! Welcome newcomers!

Had an ok day, but having a medicinal glass of a wine now Blush

Firstmum the 30 day shred is great for toning, ive been doing it for about 10 days now and can really see a difference.

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 17/02/2016 09:03

Kerala If you look at Paul Mackenna It says you shouldn't go hungry, I don't BUT my stomach has shrunk from stopping eating when I'm full Grin. Drink loads of water and herbal teas like FirstMum.

peasareevilcreatures · 17/02/2016 09:26

I've been checking my fitbit stats this morning....on a sedentary day (which always includes at least 30 mins of dog walking and lots of trips up and down stairs as I work 2 floors up) I am only burning on average 1900 calories a day, and on an active gym day I'm burning around 2400.

So to lose 2lb a week I need to keep my calories to around 1000 a day, I don't think 3lb a week is going to be realistic for me unless I 5:2 and restrict calories on the other days.

Going out for a meal with friends tonight and it's unlimited ribs wednesday! Going to be really good and have salmon and veg instead although I love ribs.

Quite tempted with the 30 day shred, do you have to do it everday? I'm going to the gym for an hour 3 times a week and doing couch to 5k twice a week on top of that at the moment. Got 8 weeks to tone up for holiday.

BrandNewSlippers · 17/02/2016 09:55

Do whatever's good for you peas, sounds like you're doing a great job so far, I'm don think 3lbs a week is that realistic for me either but I'll be happy getting close to 11 stone. I shred most days, have 1 or 2 days off a week. Sounds like you're doing a lot of exercise.

Because I'm looking for a quick fix I've accepted that I'm going to feel hungry quite a lot. I found it really shit at first but have sort of got used to it now.

Have a good day everyone. I've had my breakfast grapefruit and feeling good!

OP posts:
peasareevilcreatures · 17/02/2016 10:24

I might move my couch to 5k exclusively to the treadmill (I'm only on week 3) at the gym and try and do 30 day shred on the days I was doing that plus one extra day giving me 1 day off a week then.
Before December I was an exercise phobe but joined the gym group and now I'm a bit hooked on it! Got a long way to go to be fit though.

ppeatfruit · 17/02/2016 10:37

I've got a brilliant (so easy its laughable) ab activating exercise. If anyone's interested. I've got a waist now which I didn't have at age 23 Grin.

BrandNewSlippers · 17/02/2016 10:43

Yes please! I think the shred abs exercises are so far beyond me I'm not really doing anything.

I know what you mean about exercise being addictive peas, I quite look forward to my exercise half hour every day!

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 17/02/2016 10:55

Right Grin
THE GREAT BELLY BUSTING EXERCISE

  1. Lie flat on a firm surface (this can be a firm mattress, I do this in bed Grin).
  1. Bring your head and shoulders up 4cms slowly and hold for the count of 4. REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR HEAD IN LINE WITH YOUR SPINE, DO NOT POKE IT FORWARD OR LEAVE IT BEHIND).
  1. Go down slowly too.
  1. Repeat 3 times in the evening and 3 times at night.

That's it , it works well you can feel your belly muscles activating. They stay that way all night. It helps me sleep too!

BrandNewSlippers · 17/02/2016 19:07

Thanks fruit

I've just shredded, so knackered! Had a grapefruit for breakfast, lettuce, carrot and egg salad for lunch a tiny oat cookie and going to have veggie sausages, little bit of mash and loads of veg for dinner.

How's everyone else's day going?

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 17/02/2016 20:27

OMG I meant 3 times at night and 3 times in the morning of course !! Duh !! I was up at 5 this morning! My excuse for being dim!!

Well I was doing well BUT dh just came home from Berlin with an amazing dark chocolate\marzipan cake (my 2 favourite ingredients) Grin and i've had some after 7.30. Bur hey I'll wait till I'm hungry for breakfast Grin

DeliveredByKiki · 18/02/2016 05:15

please can I join! I'm going to weigh in tomorrow because I've been putting it off - I think I'm about a stone off my happy weight. Haven't had a drink in about 2.5 weeks, was supposed to be doing no sugar for Feb but have seriously cheated this with fruit (dried and fresh) and honey in my chai tea, so if I attempt 9lbs in 3weeks it will give me the kick I need

My plan is to return to 16:8, stick to no alcohol and do no sugar properly. I'm vegan but am comfort eating carbs so I need to knock that on the head. My big problem is I snack constantly on nuts - in very large quantities which is a LOT of calories and fat.

I think 3 weeks of 16:8 should really help and it's manageable - might mean I can gear back into 5:2 which was so successful for me losing the baby weight.

Oh - and move in some way every day. I hiked Sunday and Monday, was sedentary yesterday but did yoga today and will yoga again tomorrow. Have DD with me on Fridays so that's a bit tougher but maybe she'll let me do an at home session for 30mins. PLanning for yoga again Saturday morning and family hike Sunday.

Just writing it down makes me feel more motivated. I have a severe time difference to you so I can start now - just snacked on some nuts, it's 9:14pm, 16 hours takes me to 1:15pm tomorrow and I happen to be meeting a friend for lunch at 12 so that should be ok

What's the deal with coffee? I thought it was supposed to kick start your metabolism? I drink about 4-5 cups a day!!

ppeatfruit · 18/02/2016 09:19

Delivered I lost weight (about a stone) not deliberately , I just felt I was getting addicted, after just cutting out ONE freshly ground caffeinated coffee a day. Oh and also eating fruit before meals (on an empty stomach).

I'm a demi vegan too but have macadamias and walnuts when I feel hungry (Paul Mackenna explains it). I have still reached my target weight and am maintaining.

One great bonus after cutting out coffee and normal tea my teeth have whitened up nicely. DH's are very 'dark' despite all the bleaching toothpastes and electric toothbrushes!!

Oh I DO have a decaff coffee every now and then then it speeds up my metabolic rate Grin
