I have 10 stone to lose overall. There, I said it. No going back now. I miss riding my horse, I miss being happy and I have a toddler that doesn't want a sweaty elephant for a mum.
Anyone want to join me for some moral support?

Well done for resisting those cakes stopfaffing. I had a lie in today so skipped breakfast and even after dinner I've got 500 calories left. Not sure what to do with them though as I've deliberately stayed away from 'treat' foods lest I succumb to a binge and I don't drink alcohol (don't enjoy it) so can't even use them up on a drink.

stopfaffing · 16/01/2016 21:00

lentil is it just off the B8023 Grin?
I live near a canal too Wink.

Well today I went for a walk along the canal, the circuit took about an hour.

Then later walked down to the pub (half an hour) for a meal with friends, had half, took half home for lunch or breakfast tomorrow. Also, had a half of cider (not usual pint).

I will try my scales again tomorrow. If they don't work again, I will consider using the weigh machine at my local supermarket instead, at least that way I will have a printout of my stats to keep in my diary won't be nekked though Grin.

LentilStew · 16/01/2016 21:09

Eh, I think so! Confused that's sounds right but I haven't lived there since before I could drive! Grin
It's where the other wall is.

LentilStew · 16/01/2016 21:11

Just googled the road-yep, that's it! I'm sitting typing this in the gym. Off for a shower now but good news is that I burned 369calories just watching The Voice whilst on the cross trainer!

ChalkyC · 17/01/2016 06:58

Morning! Ok I'm massively late to the party but please can I join you? I haven't read the whole thread but I have 30-40kg to lose (so 5-6 stone?). I've lost 4kg since Christmas and am just getting into it - starting to feel determined! 3 years ago I lost about 5 stone and to my shame it's all crept back on. I feel so embarrassed that this happened - more so than when I was just big.

Anyway. No point in crying about it. Is there a spreadsheet I could join? I'm getting back into running and trying to do no sugar and reduced carbs - my husband just bought the lean in 15 book and we 'real trying out some of the recipes from it.

Clearskies99 · 17/01/2016 08:18

Welcome ChalkyC I joined in late having found this thread and been so inspired by what people are writing. Think it's a case of the more the merrier - we can all benefit from what others share.

Am in midst of a packed weekend with no down time and 2 meals out yesterday and no lie in this morning and I know that it can be the day after avoiding overeating combined with not enough sleep and busy day today when I can lapse.

Did OK yesterday with small helpings, no pudding and declining sweets and chocolates that were being scoffed all around me as knew had eaten enough but, MENTAL NOTE TO SELF, there's more of a risk today of overeating. So going to try to be mindful about what goes in my mouth, find positive ways to deal with tiredness, do some exercise that it would be easy to not bother with and not overeat!

Have a good day everyone! raises pint of hot water and lemon to all who are up and about this cold dank morning.

Brokenbiscuit · 17/01/2016 09:06

Welcome Chalky. :)

onitlikeacarbonnet · 17/01/2016 10:25

Yesterday's cheesecake is haunting me. I have a grotty cold and it was pure comfort.
I was out for tea and started this saying if I was out I'd eat what was put in front of me without guilt. I don't feel guilty but I do feel disappointed. I could've had a much smaller piece and still enjoyed it.
Anyway, started this morning with porridge.
Weigh in tomorrow will be disheartening but it's a marathon not a sprint.

ToeTouching · 17/01/2016 11:00

I think lots of us are the same boat chalky having lost a significant amount in the past and put nearly/all/more back on again. I know I look back and think why didn't I do something when I regained up to 1 stone rather than trying to kid myself that ignoring the scales and going back to bad habits would have no consequences. But, we are here now and will pull and push each other along on this journey.

onit don't be despondent about a piece of cheesecake, as PPs have said if you've been on track all week it won't have made any real difference and shouldn't knock you off the wagon for today.

So, for me I've just completed C25k w2 r1 having taken 2 wks to comfortably do the wk 1 runs.

It was surprisingly easy to move up a level, despite the layer of snow along my route. I can't believe that just 2 wks ago today I couldn't complete the wk 1 run and literally crawled into the hallway looking like this Angry

The programme is supposed to take 9 wks but I'll be happy to 'graduate' in time for my birthday in May.

Keep going everyone - looking forward to hearing about your losses for this week.

stopfaffing · 17/01/2016 12:27

Hi Toe I did my final week 1 session early this morning (in the snow); like you I have done week 1 twice and will move on to week 2 on Tuesday. What is different about week 2?

I'm like you, I will take as long as I need to to complete the nine week course. It isn't a race after all. I am assuming I will do each week twice at least.

ToeTouching · 17/01/2016 12:46

Hi stopfaffing great going - did the cats come along today or did the snow put them off?

Week 2 is the same 5 min walk beginning and end but it's 6 reps of 90 secs running and 2 mins walking - so 9 mins running in total.

Not too bad at all and I definitely see the logic of how the whole programme builds you up gradually.

My run days are sun, tues and fri - what about yours?

stopfaffing · 17/01/2016 14:23

Only one cat came along this morning Grin.

I am looking forward to Tuesday's session too.

I am just doing the every other day thing so this week is Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, then Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday etc. I still go out for a walk on the non-running days just so I get into a routine.

LentilStew · 17/01/2016 16:02

Welcome, Chalky Smile
onitlike, don't give the cheesecake another thought. Thinking about it and feeling down about it is what will erode your willpower and you'll end up losing motivation. It's fine. It's gone. It's done. Move on with your life. Are you going to let a stupid cheesecake steal this opportunity from you? I don't think so. I've just eaten a packet of chocolate buttons. I have a headache and just felt the need. Not great at 210calories but I can't live in a bubble where nice treats never exist in my life. The buttons and a nice hot cup of tea have actually made me feel a lot better.

LentilStew · 17/01/2016 16:03

Oh and well done everyone doing all the super walking. Smile

Iammostseriouslydispleased · 17/01/2016 17:23

Hauled myself to gym this morning - it is feeling better and I definitely feel more energised!

It is becoming easier to say no to myself and plan ahead when treats are.

I need to become better at cooking from scratch more often.

Well done for another week of staying with it everyone. :)

stopfaffing · 17/01/2016 17:42

I think you're right Iam, planning is most certainly the key to dealing with cravings suddenly occurring. I think if I know what I am going to eat during the day and evening, I might be less likely to eat something not in the plan.

limetimemummy · 18/01/2016 07:03

Good morning everyone, 2lb off this week so I'm happy with that especially as I have moved very little all week (v v lazy weekend)

Iam and stop I'm the same re the planning, I'm far more likely to stick to eating healthily if I have planned my food. This weeks meal plan is on my mini wipe board and I did some cooking yesterday as prep for the whole week (soup, stew, boiled eggs)
lentil I also can't imagine the rest of my life without treats and need to have them factored in - I just need to make sure they are small treats in moderation and not the entire contents of thorntons in one sitting ChocolateGrin
Will fill in the spreadsheet later

stopfaffing · 18/01/2016 07:34

That's a good result, lime.

My scales seem to be working this morning and show no change in weight at all, still 241 lb. -I haven't been for a pooh so maybe there is a 1lb or 2lb pooh lurking-- Grin.

Never mind, onwards and downwards.

On the plus side, went for an early morning walk and one cat, Oscar, came with me. The other one (the fair weather cat Wink) sat under the car.

stopfaffing · 18/01/2016 07:35

strikeout fail!

FemaleDilbert · 18/01/2016 07:42

Meh. 1lb off this week. Although I know that is a reasonable rate (and I did have two bits of cake yesterday at a party) still a little disheartened. Maybe need to increase exercise a little more and trim a hundred or so calories off daily intake on MFP. BMI still 31.5

Brokenbiscuit · 18/01/2016 07:51

I've lost around 1.5lb this week. A bit disappointing compared to the 6lb that I lost last week, but I guess it's moving in the right direction.

EdithSimcox · 18/01/2016 08:02

Hmm. 80.6kg. That's 1lb gain Blush

But 4lbs loss over the 2 weeks so more sustainable at that rate I guess.

Better be better this week Hmm

Clearskies99 · 18/01/2016 08:22

No weight loss (disappointing) but no gain either. Probablly need to increase exercise a bit more and be more aware of what I have for snacks or how much I have for snacks.

Message to self and anyone else who like me hasn't lost this week, or has gained ,be kind to ourselves, DON'T give up and go back to overeating, stick with it, we're on a long journey. keep doing the 'eat less, move more'......

fohamy12 · 18/01/2016 08:47

1 lb off, that's pants. Big pants, big Bridget Jones's pants......massive pants.

Can you guess that I'm not impressed! And I walked my big pants for miles this week!

dynevoran · 18/01/2016 11:30

Lost another 2lb here. Now on 158 and started at 170lb. Feeling positive about getting down to 126 by May 19th. Feels possible now I've started.
