I have 10 stone to lose overall. There, I said it. No going back now. I miss riding my horse, I miss being happy and I have a toddler that doesn't want a sweaty elephant for a mum.
Anyone want to join me for some moral support?

Haha, woke this morning wondering what time it is and checked on my kindle, 6.10. Now I know it is an hour out so mentally calculated the correct time by adding an hour, 7.10.

"OMG! I need to get ready quick if I want to leave to walk (3 miles) into town for hair appointment at 9!"

Got up, loo, grabbed clothes, ran downstairs put porridge on to cook, make cuppa, got dressed, fed cats, then sat down and glanced at clock by TV... 5.30!

So, I had added an hour instead to taking one off Grin. It is now 5.50 and I have loads of time before I have to leave for town. and mumnset

It means I have time to do vibro and walk round block too Smile.

Bagshot I found a site yesterday where you can calculate cals used walking different speeds (input your weight first). I'm on my phone so can't link but will do it later on.

Slept soundly for first time since Fri night, so I am feeling much better today. Think I managed to stop my cold in its tracks too, so it's all good

Just copied a list of low-carb veggies off the Atkins FB page. I really need it, as my veggie meals tend to be carb heavy. Plan to make up a big stir fry of the low carb stuff and have it in fridge to add as a side to whatever meals I make this week.

Also, this might help me with my cals on MFP. I am hitting my carb totals fine Wink but then I seem to have 200-300 cals left to fill. Not particularly hungry though, but I know long term I need to get more cals in.

love how it's only been TWO days and I am chatting like this has been going on for weeks

Day 3. I'm eating a sensible amount of calories (1,600-1,700 a day) but NOTHING seems to fill me up. I'm always feeling hungry, even a couple of hours after a sensible meal - e.g porridge with banana.

I'm hoping this is just my body adjusting from the expectation of 2,500 calories + from the Xmas gorgeathon!

Any idea how long it will take my metabolism to adjust to this new 'normal'?

I walked to work today.

No biscuits so far, and have packed a healthy lunch! I am determined to stick to it this year!!

0ddsocks It usually takes me a few days to get used to lower cals. Are you drinking much water? I know it's trotted out every time someone says they're hungry, but I do find that it helps. Also I am drinking a lot of mint tea (if you like it, the Aldi one is delish!), which is keeping me warm and content!
Eating little and often can help too. So as well as breakfast (which before I was skipping Blush ) I am making smoothies at 11am. Same as the 3pm slump, I have another drink.

I've ordered some scales which are due to arrive Friday so I can finally weigh myself! Do you think I'd be better off waiting til Monday and using that as my first weigh in or weigh on Friday and use that as a starting point and then again on Monday?

Now broken remember that your brain will attempt to compensate for your marvelous healthy walk to work by telling you that you can eat more (unconsciously, you won't even know Hmm). Apparently we eat more after going to the gym Grin, I'll try an find the article.

giraffe you know you won't be waiting until Monday to weigh in Grin. Go on, do it Friday and Monday!

I've just ordered the 30 day shred DVD, as well as the beginners' shred. I think exercise is the way to go!

I'm doing certa slim, part low carb and part meal replacement - I did lighter life 7 years ago and shifted 4 stone which stayed off til I got remarried in June 2013 and has slowly gone back on since then :)
