after a shocking week falling off wagon on holiday with lots of alcohol & afternoon tea I'm still 11lb 1oz (ie total loss 3lbs) so can't be bad. back onto determined weightloss prog, honest

JanZ · 09/06/2004 09:01

... sneaked on to the scales this morning and was 10 stone 12 ie 4lb down from start and back to where I had got to a couple of weeks ago .

But at least I'm back on track!

Was good last night - dh was talking through his ideas for developing his WineSchool business (or rather, getting it off the ground) and opened a bottle of wine to taste - and I only had half a glass.

Sonnet · 09/06/2004 16:55

Oh my god - been on holiday for a week, hada birthday (mine) and 2 boozy partys...
Too scard to weigh myself - have to go to Boots anyway as not got scales
Had lots of kids sweets today at work. Why is it when I "loose it" I bury my head and ignore it and eat/drink even more!! - I am so ashamed about nm=my lack of willpower - YOU CAN ALL DO IT!!
Am very ashamed and very cross with myself and feel I've let you all down.
Can I join again?
I promise to:

  1. have healthy tea: Salad and chicken
  2. Buy scales tomorrow from Argos at lunchour and weigh in evening and publish on here!!!
codswallop · 09/06/2004 16:57

so all of you are doing badly then?

JanZ · 10/06/2004 08:58

Weighed myself again this morning (yes.. I've gone back to daily weighing!) and was 10 stone 11 Back on the downward slope That's 5lb since the start.

Going to run again tonight. Have also started doing 40 crunches and a Pilates "100" every morning (except yesterday, when I had a Pilates class) - so that should get wroking on my abs!

Sonnet · 10/06/2004 12:50

Well done Janz - need the motivation to start running again - can you help??
Need a bit of bullying Coddy...are you up to it.
The positive for today is that I have finally ordered scales form Argos. DH will pick them up today or tomorrow - I hope today.
The negative for today: Had an odd diet. Got stuck in traffic, hadn't had breakfast as would have had it when got to work - was starving starving so had my lunch!!. Since then I've had 10 childrens sweets (Fried Eggs and cola bottles).
So what now?. I do not feel hungrey only slightly sick . Should I just drink water and eat a peach until this evening? and then have healthy supper???
Have to go and get new tyres now at Kwickfit so can't even go for a swim!!
PLEASE PLEASE give me a kick up the arse someone.

codswallop · 10/06/2004 12:52

sonnet for gods sake! they are kids sweets - do you really need them - you should be ashamed of yourself.

No good really. Jan your are now teachers pet.

bloody hell - if I could get my hands on you lot
No food now till 6pm please sonnet

codswallop · 10/06/2004 12:53

Sonnet · 10/06/2004 13:04

LOL- well you've made me laugh about the tyres....

Wouldn't let my kids eat these sweets - I work in "food" - loosly connected to anyway - and these are product samples sitting about 2 feet away from me!! - feel sick so can';t face another one
I PROMISE to eat nothing else till 6pm!!

codswallop · 10/06/2004 13:05

Sonnet · 10/06/2004 13:09

Sonnet goes off to sort tyres muttering to herself...

codswallop · 10/06/2004 13:10

lol
think carrots

JanZ · 10/06/2004 13:11

Coddy - compared to my dh, you are a pussycat!

He passes comment on me even having ONE rich tea biscuit or ONE Jaffa cake as a treat having been good all day. (... but then he goes and opens a bottle of wine, and says I know you don't want any, but would you like a taste? !)

That's why sometimes I don't tell him when I'm on a diet, but my cutting out of alchol has been so drastic, it was obvious!

And tbh, normally he is very supportive. (I have to say that, as he found my posting on here where I complained that he hadn't been supportive and had "made" me share some bubbly with him , which he denied).

Last night he even said it looked like I had lost some weight. He's also working hard to encourage me to get out for some runs - encouraged me to go out on my own on Sunday and then ran with me on Monday (when I had a day off but ds was in as normal at the child monders).

Sonnet · 10/06/2004 16:23

carrots..............

JanZ · 10/06/2004 16:42

I have to admit I've been starving this afternoon too! But being chained to my desk and having eaten all my nibbles (radishes, a banana, 2 peaches and lunch of rocket salad with cherry tomatoes and a boiled egg), there's not much I can do about it!

I'll be going straight for my ration of 2 brazil nuts (my "healthy" snack!) as soon as I get home!
Spaghetti with tuna, tomato sauce and parsley for supper. Looking forward to it already!

codswallop · 10/06/2004 17:02

dont try and creep around me now you two porkers

JanZ · 11/06/2004 08:54

10 stone 11 again this morning.

Continued to be good last night - had 2 brazil nuts when I got in , tuna and tomato spaghetti and some grapes for supper and then a wee jaffa cake with my late evening tea. Nothing else, promise!

I even went out for a (very) short run when I got in from work (only 14 minutes, as I still needed to make supper, do the week's menu and shopping list, and get to the shops before Lidl closed). But I did go out in the middle of a cloud burst, so got well and truly soaked! And I still did it a minute faster than Sunday (which was admittdedly my first time out for about 6 months).

Forgot to do my crunches this morning - will do them this evening - and may even go out for a run again.

Sonnet · 11/06/2004 10:09

DH got the scales - bless him, or not as the case may be

weighed in at 9st 5lbs this morning
that is 3lbs heavier than a fortnight ago but still 6lbs lighter than at Easter.

Got ig do on in 10 days so will be very good.....
maybe going to that and feeling crap will spur me on.
Need to be 8st 7lbs by 1st August - so here goes..
Was good yesterday eve and today so far. Doidn't get to go for a run and to be honest I've got a crap weekend on - so so much to do and no time to do it in but will try and pressurise myself even more and go for a run..
well done janz!!

JanZ · 11/06/2004 10:25

Are you and me the only ones still doing this?

At least it means we get personalised bullying from Coddy!

Sonnet · 11/06/2004 15:55

Looks like we are - although I think you did better than me as I've had a disasterous fortnight.....
Goodluck this weekend - I'm gagging about a cold galss of chardonay this evening!
suppose I could eat carrots and drink water instead!

Fizog · 11/06/2004 16:05

Looks like this has been going for a while... I guess I am too late to join?

JanZ · 11/06/2004 16:11

I'll be having a glass of bubbly tonight as well - my end of week treat.

Plus tomorrow we're helping my Mum and Dad as their garden is going to be open under the Scotland's Gardens scheme, (dh helping with the parking, me being a genral dogsbody and watching ds!) which will mean grazing all day, followed by a BBQ with home made Boerewurz (fabulous Suuth African sausages) and a wide selection of my Mum's yummy desserts - never mind what the rest of the house (6 flats in the house) have contributed!

I'll just have to make sure to go for a longer run on Sunday!

I'll volunteer to drive though, so at least I won't drink too much!

JanZ · 11/06/2004 16:13

Fizog - we'd love some company - helps with the motivation!

It's only been going a few weeks though - and already there seems to be drop outs!
