Goodasitgets you look amazing! Really nice shape, lovely calves... My calves are really big, I have a 27" inside leg on a good day so I'll have to be 7 stone before I get decent legs!

Tryingno1 welcome! I'm new too Smile You sound close to goal...keep up the good work. Maybe try to do a bit of walking or a home DVD once a week to keep things ticking over?
I've done OK today...working late so tempting to eat rubbish but have kept within goal, albeit eating my small amount of exercise calories. Little steps and all that!

Not2bObvious · 29/09/2015 21:25

Wow good, you're carrying yourself very well! Honestly don't look 15 stone. Considering your height, 1200 is very low. Is your condition one that would make weight loss difficult? I hear you on the easy gaining but when I shine a light very honestly on mfp I see it's just bad weeks catching up with me. And that's with a lot of activity. It just takes 2-3 weeks and what I thought I'd got away come back to make my jeans tight Blush

Anyway here's hoping that the support on this thread helps you, I'm really enjoying having like minded people to waffle to - I've bored everyone in RL to death with it.
Welcome trying, great loss! How long have you been at it? I can't wait to get to a point where I've lost those kind of numbers - and kept them off for a change!
I managed on 1200 today!!!!! It was tough but possible, keeping busy was the key. Bootcamp in the morning, ugh

goodasitgets · 29/09/2015 21:30

I don't know much about it as I'm waiting for a definite diagnosis
It basically means I have a v low white blood cell count so prone to infection. Results next Tuesday so should know more then
I'm just sick of being the fat one and worrying about things like which chair I sit on etc etc
I wasn't losing at 1700 ish which is my TDEE so have dropped to just eating my BMR

irishe · 29/09/2015 21:31

Thanks mrsdlh & lermon still feeling good about it!

Well the thread has moved quickly today.
majestic good to know the TDEE is built into our daily calories on mfp. I reckon this means I no longer need to worry about it!

emz I am a netflix aficionado. Yes I agree with pp who have suggested scandal, would add house of cards. I have also finished the whole 10 seasons of spooks recently, which I thought was excellent (if you like the whole espionage genre). Does that mean I win poster with the most time on my hands?! Also coming to the end of the Unit, which I was a bit uncertain about but have really enjoyed, it's about a black ops unit and their missions but also about their families. Yep almost finished 4 seasons of that.

Also watched Gotham recently, was ok, DH really liked it, but he loves anything with a comic connection!

My favourite all time series was homeland, heavy but brilliant.

For something comedy/drama Death in paradise is quite good.

Welcome good and trying to our merry throng

Tryingno1 · 29/09/2015 21:32

its been 2 months so far...so average of 1 pound a week...ive had some weeks where I've been good all week and lost 2/3 pounds and some weeks where I've been utterly crap and not lost any and maybe even put on 0.5 pounds. but overall its going the right way!
but i feel a bit bored now! so I'm hoping u guys will help encourage me!

thanks :)

Emz449 · 29/09/2015 21:41

Welcome Trying nice to see the group expanding while our waistlines are shrinking!

I might give scandal and house of cards a try then, I do love a political drama!

I think we should perhaps set some October goals? Mine is to get to 10stone 7lbs Smile

irishe · 29/09/2015 22:10

good I am also 5ft 10. With plenty to lose! I am approaching the weight you were at the start, having lost 2.6 stones this year.

I have lost 13lbs in the last month by eating 1340 ish daily. I am now on 1280. It is hard maintaining this low calorie intake no doubt about it.
I am very sedentary due to current health issues, so not burning anything off. Honestly I could eat 1200 cals in half an hour!

It's funny how everyone is at different stages. I can clearly remember where I was working when I weighed 15 stone odds, I had just started a new job and was wearing size 16 trousers and size 14 tops. I looked ok! Wish I could close my eyes and be 15 stone again! I should have got a hold of it then, but for various reasons my weight spiralled ever upwards.

Of course I am not saying 15 stone is an ideal weight, it still has health consequences which is my number 1 priority now. But if you are 5 ft 10 and 15 stone, most people would never guess you are that weight. Unless they too were 5ft 10 and 15 stone, you get the picture!

I have always loved being tall, but in terms of maintaining a healthy weight it has done me no favours. Because I could "get away with it" for longer I let my weight drift upwards.

Ah well, I am feeling reflective tonight, sorry for the monologue. I am doing something now, which is the main thing.

Good luck to you all on your weight loss journeys.

psychotropic · 29/09/2015 22:21

goodasitgets you look amazing ShockShockShock never in a million years would I have guessed you weigh what you say!!!

My goals for October firstly find out what I weigh so I have a real starting point. I've ordered some bathroom scales of my own and hopefully they will give fairly consistent readings. I can get on and off my friends ones and be anything from 10st 2 to almost 11st!!! Once I know where I am I want to lose 2lbs. Really want to be something like half a stone lighter by Xmas. Second goal is to get some digital kitchen scales, third is to put more thought into my meals. Everything I've eaten since I joined MFP has been convenience food pretty much Blush I thought I cooked more and ate fresh veg etc

Emz449 · 29/09/2015 22:24

Definitely recommend kitchen scales psycho it will open your eyes to portion size if you aren't already aware of it!

Not2bObvious · 30/09/2015 07:37

Morning all. I either need new scales or maybe just a new battery. Some days I can weigh 3 times one after another and it goes up/down/up some more from the 1st up. Stupid b*stard. I know the tape measure might be better but it just doesn't hit the spot Sad Sitting here eating my bowl of porridge after my bootcamp, can barely lift my arms. Dreading going to work, want to go to bed for the day but I don't think that'll be accepted. Now to get the beasts, I mean kids up... Sigh

Emz449 · 30/09/2015 08:46

Oof well done doing boot camp so early Not2 I find it a struggle to get dressed in the morning let alone exercise! I walk to work half asleep!

Still 11 stone this morning, it flickered to 10,13 but settled on 11. Bastard. I think this is probably my plateau and a weight that my body is used to. I haven't weighed less then this since I was 23? I'm 27 now so it's been a few years! Determined to break through this barrier!

OP posts:
psychotropic · 30/09/2015 08:53

Morning not2b, hope the porridge gives you strength for the day! I can't believe you've already done boot camp by that time of day!

My new scales arrived and after all my time on Amazon they are the exact same as the ones my friend has lent me! But I got very reliable results when I tested them first thing so the other set probably just needed batteries Blush so my first official weigh in is 147lbs exactly in underwear lol and I want to be 145 or less by the end of the month

(I have a horrible memory of standing at the fridge at about 11pm last night eating lumps of cheese which didn't make their way onto MFP Blush)

Not2bObvious · 30/09/2015 08:55

You'll definitely see a drop real soon Emz, keep the faith - and once it drops it'll stay under 11. Maybe you need to do something to shake it up? God knows what haha! What isn't helping me either is my tendency towards sluggish bowel. I eat well, drink plenty of water, exercise etc but it's always a problem. When the best you get is 1lb a week off, bring bunged up can ruin that. I know over time it'll even out it's just frustrating. In other slightly less moaney news my M&S jeggings don't feel indecently tight so that's an Nsv. Need to keep on track for the next 3 days but it'll be tough, have meal out on Saturday so I want to enjoy it

psychotropic · 30/09/2015 08:56

Hello emz, I took so long to post I missed yours! It will be very satisfying when you get past this plateau!

Purpleknickers · 30/09/2015 09:13

Morning another vote for Homeland on Netflix from me, I loved it. House of cards I tried and I could not get over Kevin Spacey talking directly to the camera so I had to give up on that.

Those blooming scales Emz it's got to happen soon

October goal for me hmmmm I am currently 11st 4.9lb and I have got a weeks holiday so I am going to optimistically say 11st exactly and cross my fingers

MajesticWhine · 30/09/2015 09:18

I weighed in at 9st 12 this morning (before eating breakfast Smile). I'm setting a fairly modest goal for the end of october of 9st 9.
To achieve this, mainly I need to not screw up at the weekends by glugging down half a bottle of wine at every opportunity. And by not going to the farmer's market and buying pies Grin.

MrsDLH · 30/09/2015 09:50

Morning! I weighed 11st 7 this morning. My scales weigh 1/4lbs but I tend to ignore them unless it works in my favour. October goal is to get to 10 something...I must not screw this up!

Bootcamp before 7am? Blimey. I am not a morning person, better since I had children but would still rather sleep more than exercise. Kudos though, wish I could! Today, I'm having eggs for brunch, meatballs and fresh pasta mid afternoon then will see if I have any calories left. Working 6-10pm so a funny day meal wise. Have a great day y'all

irishe · 30/09/2015 11:52

Morning all!
Wow, not2 you are keen with the early boot camp. Much kudos. Good luck with the continuing loosening of those jeggings!

I am still bunged with the cold, but am over the worst. Throat still sore though, and sounds all gravelly when I speak. My 3 year old keeps telling me to speak up!

So October is nearly upon us. I have not set a monthly goal before, just been grateful for any weight loss, ha. My original mini goal was to lose a stone before we go on holiday near start of nov, but I am only half a pound off achieving that so I guess should set a new one. Think I'll go with 7 pounds as that will take me to a 3 stone weight loss this year.

Have a good day all.

irishe · 30/09/2015 12:00

majestic that made me laugh about the farmers market. We used to make a Sunday morning trip out to our local one, either walk or cycle to it, with the aim of getting fresh veggies for healthy meals, then would end up eating an unhealthy breakfast. DH always got mugged by a sausage roll or similar (from some expensive rare breed pig) and I would eat some cheesy spinach pie from an artisan cheese maker!

Now we are both trying to lose weight we get our veg delivered from supermarket, ha.

Good memories though.

MajesticWhine · 30/09/2015 12:20

Our local one is about 2 minutes walk away! Those cheesy pies are a nightmare.

Tryingno1 · 30/09/2015 13:17

I'm off to Italy next Friday so I really need to focus for the next ten days. Had soup and naked bar for lunch. Omelette for dinner! Going to try minimise the carbs as sure in Italy it will all go mad!!!

Not weighed myself in 10 days, need to get back on scar tmrw as that's when it all goes wrong!

Oh I love a good pie!!

IMustEatMoreVeg · 30/09/2015 15:04

Blimey this thread is moving fast! I have been watching but haven't had time to catch up properly. Welcome to all the new MFPers.

I have just had my final weigh in for September and I have managed a loss of 7 and a half lb so achieved my goal of 7lb.

My next major goal is to be 10st something by December so that means I need to lose 7lb per month for the next two months. I see that a few others are up for a very serious effort in the next couple of months? Me too! Game on!

IMustEatMoreVeg · 30/09/2015 15:22

Oh. I've just checked my maths and I don't need to lose 7lb a month. I need to lose 5lb a month. Thats better! Grin

irishe · 30/09/2015 15:49

imust well done on your sept loss, great result.

Yes there is a serious push for weight loss running up to the end of the year going on.
As you say, Game on!

Tryingno1 · 30/09/2015 16:38

5 a month is totally doable! I'm aiming for same. Will weigh myself tmrw so can start properly. Was 11 stone ten days ago but thinks went a bit haywire as I was like whoopyyy well done me-eat and drink lots. Whoops. So now back on it!
