Hello Smile
I've recently lost over 30lbs but I still need to lose another 30ish. Anyone want to join in for some support/motivation? I'm thinking weekly Monday morning weigh ins starting tomorrow (Not compulsory).
I'm going to do healthy food at about 1000-1200 calls a day. I may also add in some fast days too.
All diet types and weights welcome Smile

by which I mean, I know the need to lose weight will be mentioned!

RoosterCogburn · 27/08/2015 17:51

DH cooking is great as well! I usually cook in the school holidays and he does weekdays term-time so he's getting an early start.

I'm sure that in a fortnight you will have lost a couple of pounds.

lorelei9 · 29/08/2015 09:04

gosh, I was hoping to lose more than a couple of pounds in a fortnight!

no way will doc notice a couple of pounds - or be impressed when I get on the scales.

sneaky mid week weigh in shows 1.5lb gone. I might have eaten some crisps yesterday - oops. They weren't even that good - someone brought the posh M&S ones but I wasn't that impressed tbh. Probably just as well as it means I didn't eat many of them - just enough to decide Grin

Mega "finish the painting" effort this weekend. After that, my workouts resume, I'm doing the beginner shred (Jillian Michaels). I did it for a week before joining this thread and I think it's really good. Only 20 mins as well.

RoosterCogburn · 29/08/2015 17:15

lorelei I'm sure you will, I'm just a plodder when it comes to weight loss.

Well done for getting into The Shred, my knees don't like it when I try and do it.

lorelei9 · 29/08/2015 19:15

Rooster, it's Beginner Shred, no impact on knees. I live in a flat with people below so wouldn't do jumping jacks and what not anyway.

I have seen regular Shred online and this is definitely a beginner version.

lorelei9 · 31/08/2015 09:54

I have shed 2lb this week then. I was hoping for more, esp as I skipped lunch yesterday - due to endless decorating, not just that I felt like skipping lunch but sometimes it's easier to power through, you know?

och well.

RoosterCogburn · 31/08/2015 14:21

Well done Lorelei

lorelei9 · 01/09/2015 10:23

thanks!

this is a bit pants of me but I'm already worried about this week.

I've got really boring work events, complete with catering....I'm terrible at work at the best of times, only do it for money, but these sorts of things are particularly mind numbing. Then I have a dinner on Friday night and a lunch on Saturday! Going to have to really concentrate, so to speak.

RoosterCogburn · 01/09/2015 19:29

That sounds like a fairly challenging work food-wise

I didn't lose any weight this week but gained 0.4lb

Might have something to do with the fact I haven't been very active. I'm back in work now so I'm hoping that I can stay disciplined and I'll be more active so that should help.

Starting weight 172.8lb
Week One 167.2lb
Week Two 166.2lb
Week Three 165.2lb
Week Four 164.8lb
Week Five 163.4lb
Week Six 163.8b

lorelei9 · 01/09/2015 23:03

I don't think 0.4 is a gain, probably just natural variation. You'll see a loss next week.

RoosterCogburn · 02/09/2015 20:57

I hope so.
This week two people who I haven't seen for 6 weeks (school holiday) have commented on my weigh loss which is a real boost.

lorelei9 · 02/09/2015 22:11

Yay!

I don't know why I weighed myself this morning but I did, I've gained half a pound since Monday.

What's the lowest cal option at a Thai place, which is Friday's dinner? Well, I will look it up but suggestions welcome. Thinking steamed fish and jasmine rice if they are options, or maybe a rice noodle dish? Both sound lovely so I'll just have to watch portion size, don think I'll ffeel deprived.

RoosterCogburn · 07/09/2015 07:08

-1.6lb this week.
That's about 10lb off in seven weeks, theoretically if I can do the same again that means by the end of October I could be 152lb (10 stone 12lb), and by Christmas about 10 stone.
I can't remember the last time I was that weight. Last time I seriously lost weight I stalled at 150lb, this time I am determined to hit the 140lb mark.

Starting weight 172.8lb
Week One 167.2lb
Week Two 166.2lb
Week Three 165.2lb
Week Four 164.8lb
Week Five 163.4lb
Week Six 163.8b
Week Seven 162.2lb

lorelei9 · 07/09/2015 11:11

well done Rooster, that's great.

I have only lost half a pound but given what kind of week it was, not horrific.

I need to step up my efforts going forward though. I have a target I wanted to hit and I'm not really anywhere near it!

RoosterCogburn · 07/09/2015 19:37

lorelei you did say that it wasn't going to be a great week for weight loss - at least you didn't gain anything!

Welcome ruros.

I've lost 10lb but I'm aiming to lose 20lb more by Christmas. Even then, I'll have a bit more to go but I'm trying to think about it in stages.
If I stay on track I could be at my goal weight by February but I'm aiming for Easter to give myself a bit of wriggle room.

lorelei9 · 08/09/2015 13:42

Rooster - thanks, you're right, it was lucky to lose anything really.

Trivial moan. I had to buy a new summer coat 2 weeks ago - you know, really lightweight, more a jacket - and I dithered because I thought, I won't fit into it next year, but the next coat up was too warm.

I got one for £25 so yes, cheap and cheerful - the other one had rips in the lining and substantial fading and looked awful when going to external meetings etc.

But now it's turned cold, I'm thinking, if that was only 2 weeks wear I'll be cross - because I really don't want it to fit me next summer. in fact if I lose 30lb total I should be at least 2 sizes down, is that a fair assessment? I'm short.

I tend to lose track of what "size" I am because everyone sizes so differently!

RoosterCogburn · 08/09/2015 19:18

I'm short too Lorelei and I am hoping that 30b will be two sizes.

I suppose you have to write off the summer coat and just focus in the weight loss, or wear it and move the buttons (if that is possible)

My mum has kindly offered to buy me some new clothes when I have lost the weight so I am not buying anything in the mean time.

I hope that by the time the colder weather comes I can fit into the lovely coat I bought a few years ago that wouldn't zip up last winter because I had become so podgy.

lorelei9 · 09/09/2015 12:55

oddly enough I have a winter coat that doesn't fit any more but I don't actually like it.

I think that and the new summer coat have to go on ebay!

I had a terrible journey into work today and had to fight hard to resist buying a muffin or something when I finally got to the station. I knew I didn't need it, it was just the irritable "I want sugar" response to a really bad journey (which took 2 hours instead of 1).

I resisted!

RoosterCogburn · 09/09/2015 18:57

eBay sounds like a good idea and you can put the money towards a new coat that you really like.

I dont envy you your commute, I imagine its very easy to be tempted enroute.

lorelei9 · 10/09/2015 10:53

Rooster - not really, I hate buying food outside so normally have no trouble walking past that kind of place.

sadly - yesterday being one of the dullest days ever at work - someone bought 2 big bags of crisps and I ate loads. I know, rubbish of me. Happily I'm working at home today so no danger of boredom or eating rubbish.

actually, the real temptations at work are always physically in the office, not outside of it. I find offices generally are powered on junk food and caffeine.

RoosterCogburn · 10/09/2015 18:22

See, I'd probably eat during the journey.

I've been volunteering to do dinner duty - 30 minutes in the hall with the smell of school dinner has been a great appetite suppressant!

lorelei9 · 10/09/2015 21:19

Ew, yes, that would put me off food.

You'd eat on the journey? Standing up on the Tube? I find public transport revolting, I wouldn't want to eat on it. As soon as I get to work/office I wash my hands.

RoosterCogburn · 10/09/2015 21:44

I'm not a seasoned tube traveller (prob only been on it twice) so perhaps I have a false idea of travelling to work that way - am equating it more to a train journey sat at a table!
Am obviously just a country bumpkin - the biggest delay on my journey is cattle crossing the road and the morning we had to stop so my college could leap out and herd a hedgehog off the road.
