Hi carden. Someone looked on teh exante website adn it did say they dont recommend more gan one bar a day - although as they are all nutritionally the same Im not sure wjy ythat is..

hi rockchick it is quite exciting when weight start to come off properly! and the quick resuts mean its easier to keep motivated.

I'm away from this weekend - going to try and be a bit sensible so that I don't undo all my hard work ...

Oh sorry if I gave wrong info. I think it would be a bit boring eating all bars. Some people don't like the meals but there are the porridges, shakes and soups also the puddings.

lilacblossomtime · 24/07/2015 16:45

Have a nice weekend lemon, try to stay low carb Wine

carden · 24/07/2015 16:53

I thought I'd seen somewhere you should only have 1 bar per day but I can't find it written anywhere.

In the forum there's an 'ask the nutritionist' section. In there someone has specifically asked how many bars you can have a day and the the response is that you can have any combination of products.

Be interested to hear if anyone has any experience of just having bars?

carden · 24/07/2015 16:58

And no worries lilac. I've placed a very mixed order to try a whole range of different products. It's just the bars would be the most convenient.

RedButtonhole · 24/07/2015 17:57

I'm supposed to have four products per day so had a shake for breakfast which I found hard to stomach and soup for lunch which tasted ok but I didn't really want it. Now its tea time, I can't stomach having anything else, wasn't even tempted by DS' chips.
I feel quite sick and not hungry at all, has anyone else had this?
Its only my first day and I feel like a wimp but I'm not pining after food at all, quite the opposite!

lilacblossomtime · 24/07/2015 18:36

Don't worry red I am sure you will get used to the products after a while.

lilacblossomtime · 24/07/2015 18:38

Do you think you might feel better with a bar in the evening? It is not so watery and you could cut it up and have half at a time.

RedButtonhole · 24/07/2015 19:25

I think so lilac. Have just had a third shake and feel ok, the chocolate is slightly malted in flavour so didn't find it as sickly. It's only my first day so sure I'll get used to it! Its just strange that I expected to be ravenous and I'm completely the opposite!

lilacblossomtime · 24/07/2015 19:34

Yes I have heard of people not wanting all the packs when they are in ketosis but it is good anyway, hopefully it will keep going!

RufusTheReindeer · 24/07/2015 19:34

Had an Atkins bar for lunch, chocolate and orange...better than the peanut one from exante

Indian curry was nice and the carbonara was ok too, bit too much like soup with pasta in it but tasted ok

Missed lunch or breakfast

RufusTheReindeer · 24/07/2015 19:41

Will have two bars tomorrow as I'm out and may try the shepherds pie for tea

I'm going to have one of the exante bars and maybe buy another atkins bar when I'm out

It's just too scary trying new things when it's your only meal Sad

Rockchick1984 · 24/07/2015 19:57

Ugh, how do you all manage to drink enough water? I've had just over a litre and I've been weeing all afternoon!

Managed ok on the shakes, chocolate crispy bar was quite tasty but definitely felt like more of a snack than a meal so I think I'll start having the bars as a supper and having my teatime shake a bit earlier when the DCs are having tea

RedButtonhole · 24/07/2015 20:12

Rockchick I've managed to drink loads of water little and often rather than gulping down loads at a time- try leaving a bottle out nearby and sipping every time you walk past. Its surprising how quickly it adds up!

lilacblossomtime · 24/07/2015 20:59

Some of the weeing is caused by losing water that is being stored in your body as you burn off all the glycogen, then when you get rid of that it should settle down a bit.

leaveitforgood · 24/07/2015 21:34

I would like to join as well as have started cambridge diet! Day 2 and trying to be strong and keep at it. Surely need motivation to continue Smile

RedButtonhole · 24/07/2015 21:49

Apparently the first 3-4 days are the worst leave so you're already at least halfway through the hardest bit!

beyoncesweave · 24/07/2015 22:17

I lost 8lbs in 2 weeks on slim and save, and had a break (didn't lose or gain) and now I'm back on it.

I was almost 14 stone when I started. Dream would be 9stone.

beyoncesweave · 24/07/2015 22:18

I read on Slim and Save that they only recommend that you eat 1 bar a day as they don't want to promote a diet where all you eat is chocolate.

leaveitforgood · 24/07/2015 22:57

Thanks red button. This thread is quite motivating!!! Am drinking so much water that I seem to spend all my time weeing. Shock I hope it doesn't cause any health problem!!!

RedButtonhole · 24/07/2015 23:22

The thread is motivating. My consultant also added me to a few facebook groups for Cambridge, so there's lots of info and chatter on there as well as a page dedicated to before and after pictures which is inspiring! It's nice to know there are people in the same boat.

carden · 25/07/2015 00:37

Not that I'm obsessed with the number of bars you can have a day on Exante but I found this in the nutritionist part of the forum....

Some of you who have been around a while will be adhering to the 1 bar a day rule and there have been a number of questions on our closed facebook group this week about how many bars per day is ok.

For those of you who love bars you'll be pleased to hear that therestrictionhas now been removed and you are free to have up to 3 per day.

If you choose to eat more bars then there are a few things to bare in mind.....

  1. Remember you'll be taking in less fluid a day if you base your intake largely around bars, you should compensate for this with an extra glass of water to ensure minimal impact on your weight loss.
  1. The cereal bars contain more calories than our other products and 3 per day will give you roughly an extra 70 calories per day compared to shakes. While this isn't much over a number of weeks this does add up which will result in a slightly lower weight loss over a long period of time.
  1. The cereal bars contain more fibre than our other products which doesn't suit everyone.
  1. The Double Choc and Red Berry bar contain something called polyols, a type of carbohydrate commonly found in diet and diabetic confectionary. Excessive consumption can cause a laxative effect and therefore you should bare this in mind as for some people 2 or 3 of these bars a day may have this unwanted side effect! We have included this information on the bar label for this reason.
zeis10 · 25/07/2015 06:03

Thank you Carden I have been looking for that to post up for people too! Smile
