Hello all :)

I have seen many topics similar to this one but there was so many already I felt a little swamped so I wanted to start my own in hope it would motivate me to well, eat less bad things and exercise more!

I am 5ft and weigh 12st.

I want to be around 9 1/2 to 10st.

I would at least like to lose a stone in 3 months as I'm getting married.

Anyone with specific recommendations of certain foods to eat/not eat, certain exercises to do etc please do feel free to share.

Tomorrow I am starting to eat more healthier. Plenty of chicken and eggs for me. I think one of my biggest problems is I love carbs. I also weigh a lot so exercise tires me out quicker than if I weighed less as I sweat more.

I hope someone else will share the journey with me so I don't feel so huge and yucky!

Thanks for reading this anyways :)

Hi All, is it too late to join. last time i checked (last week) I was 60.5kg (9.5stone) . I am 5"4. I would like to be 8.8 stone. I want to try and lose without having to restrict my diet but find a healthier way to eat. I have started to do 20 to 30 minutes of strengthing exercises in the morning before work (dumbells for arms in the morn, squats, lunges and situps/crunches). I walk 10 000 steps every day (on fitbit) and would like to up that. I am on MFP but have not been using it properly. Going to start today and try to log everything. Anyone else on fitbit want o be my friend so that we can set weekly challenges maybe and try to up our steps? You all seem like a great group for support something I really need. it is hard to stick to a plan.

Can I join in to, I am 5ft 6 and weigh 299 lbs. I had a serious car accident about 10 years ago with serious spinal damage, so I've only been able to walk short distances until 2 years ago.

I have a daughter who's 7 years old and although we eat healthy meals, I regularly snack when she's at school.

I am going back to Work in October so would really like to look and feel better. I have MFP app and have signed up for the local gym. I also turn 44 tomorrow.

Welcome!

Weighed in today - I'm 11st 5 so I've lost a pound.

Could be better but it means 12lb down in eight weeks.

I'm a bit depressed as nhs bmi calculator reckons I need to be 10st 4. I was hoping for 10st 10.

Good luck everyone else

Lost another 2lbs this week so 13.5 in total...am happy with how it's going but worried about the school holidays. Not sure how I'll be able to keep up my walking and all that temptations of ice creams and treats with dc around.

Can i join too....im 5ft7 and weigh around 10 stone 3.....i would really like to be 9 and a half stone.....i am low carbing and eating lots of fish and have dropped most of the booze as i was drinking a Koppaberg pear cider most nights of the week....fed up of getting bigger as i get older x

I'm doing, hmm, reasonably well, though it's slow going. My hope is that because it is so slow, my default way of eating (big portions) will have been permanently changed. I'm a stone down, and have another couple of stone to go.

My current issue, which I ought to have realised going into this, is the Nigel Lawson Effect: suddenly I look my age. I've always been taken for younger than I am, but with less fat filling out the wrinkles that's no longer the case, and it's only going to get more pronounced in my face as I lose more. I shall have to embrace my new maturity!

Welcome and well done!
Weigh in day for me. I'm 11st 3 so in nine weeks I've lost a stone.
Feeling very proud (and I didn't 'reward' myself with food).

I think I'm getting used to smaller portions. Even when I feel I've eaten loads it's still 1700 cals (about half what I used to eat). Generally sticking to 1300 cals and doing couch to 5k.

But nhs bmi says I have another stone to lose. I'm a bit shocked as I thought (hoped) it was more like 7lbs. Ah well.
