Hello all :)

I have seen many topics similar to this one but there was so many already I felt a little swamped so I wanted to start my own in hope it would motivate me to well, eat less bad things and exercise more!

I am 5ft and weigh 12st.

I want to be around 9 1/2 to 10st.

I would at least like to lose a stone in 3 months as I'm getting married.

Anyone with specific recommendations of certain foods to eat/not eat, certain exercises to do etc please do feel free to share.

Tomorrow I am starting to eat more healthier. Plenty of chicken and eggs for me. I think one of my biggest problems is I love carbs. I also weigh a lot so exercise tires me out quicker than if I weighed less as I sweat more.

I hope someone else will share the journey with me so I don't feel so huge and yucky!

Thanks for reading this anyways :)

Microchips well I'm not totally starving myself, I have four oatcakes and a packet of cherry tomatoes to eat :)

MicrochipsAndMemories · 12/05/2015 10:46

ahhhh, that doesn't sound too bad then. enjoy your pizza!

BTW a really good low calorie sweet snack I like are Pink&Whites. They're only 50 calories each and get rid of that sugar craving Wink

ByeByeButterfly · 12/05/2015 11:48

I find celery is nice to snack on - low calories and not too bad a taste but it is an acquired taste.

Tomatoes are good.

Thinking what I can make with tomatoes, chicken and mushrooms - any ideas?

Can I join?

I'm 5ft 3 and 11st 4 after having DC2 5 weeks ago.

I'm using MFP and staying under 1200, also walking as much as possible. Will start swimming 3 x a week in 2 weeks time.

I'm so lazy I'm having a bowl of cereal for breakfast, a m&s count on us sandwich for lunch and an m&s balanced for you meal for dinner Blush am snacking on natural yog, fruit or malt loaf if I'm hungry/have calories left.

Am hoping to get back down to 9st 4 which is my happy weight, I'm getting married next year so the thought of wedding dress shopping will hopefully keep me going! X

addstudentdinners2 · 12/05/2015 12:50

Bitchpeas I was 11st 4 a few months ago at 5ft 3 :) Now 10st 6 and also aiming for around 9st ish. And mine was cake weight rather than baby weight.

Wedding dress shopping is a great motivator, if only I could get DP to propose Hmm

Mamama31 · 12/05/2015 15:41

Hi ladies.

Well I knew I was meeting my friend mid morning for coffee and decided to skip breakfast and lunch to have a scone for brunch. But not feeling guilty as I came home and did an exercise dvd, some extra weights, situps and skipping. I've just enjoyed a lovely fruit salad with a dollop of fat free yoghurt and I'm planning salmon with a salad of lettuce, vine tomato, mixed peppers, pineapple chunks and beetroot. I do my salmon with a marinade of soy sauce and honey, makes it very tasty.

For those wondering what to make with chicken etc as a side. Yesterday I made a very small portion of brown rice cooked with a veg stock cube in to make it tasty, then bulked it up with onions, mushrooms, garlic, peppers and red chilli's it was so nice and had hardly any rice was mostly the veg.

Mamama31 · 12/05/2015 15:43

Bitchpeas a wedding is a lovely motivation for you and should help to keep you going with your healthy eating!

I'm determined to have a bikini body....its never going to be skinny or perfectly toned...but if I could just not scare myself and others wearing a bikini that would be lovely :)

midnight1983 · 12/05/2015 18:51

Really struggling to stay within my calorie limits today as my little boy hasn't been feeling well and I'm exhausted...got to keep going! That rice idea sounds good as I agree about yogurt - it's surprisingly filling.

CarpeJugulum · 12/05/2015 19:01

Just been to GP (for another matter) and she weighed me. 14 stone. Fuck. Didn't think it was that bad.

I'm not starting fully dieting/food plan altering right now - I need the calories to keep me sane as I'm so stressed, but I am dropping booze (1 glass not 1 bottle!) and crap.

Writemove · 12/05/2015 19:37

Love the rice suggestion. Thank you.

Will try fizzy water. I was worried about carbonated drinks and teeth enamel and bone density but I need filling up!

Although today Miso soup and sushi filled me up for hardly any calories.

Beans on toast was always my quick slimming world 'ready meal'.

Need some more ready in 10 min options.

Thanks for the support. It's stopped me straying.

Mamama31 · 12/05/2015 21:22

Also love the fizzy water idea, I think I'll try that when I'm back to work.

I had some celery sticks tonight for a snack....they were grim...but I thought if I get some peanut butter and low fat houmous that would be a great afternoon or evening snack as it's so good for you and very low calorie.

Everyone is doing so well, keep it up ladies we will be loving it to see a few lbs off by next week :)

Carpe well done on giving up the booze, I just couldn't do it! I've tried before but find that a healthy diet with booze in moderation works best for me. Cutting out beer is also best as it makes me fat! So a gin and diet tonic, and the odd glass (or 3) of red wine is what I feel I deserve if I'm eatin healthily!

FruitOwl · 13/05/2015 10:28

Well done to everyone, sounds like you are eating some lovely healthy food and not feeling too deprived! WRT not eating so I can eat pizza later...yes I do this to an extent, certainly cut right back on fat and carbs for the rest of the day, but have found the best way if you want a treat is to exercise. Even half an hour at the gym, swimming or cycling is enough to have some pizza without having to cut anything else out. Also (can you tell how much I love pizza, have really thought about this Blush) if you can, avoid fatty toppings like bacon and pepperoni, go for chicken and veg.
Bitchpeas snap, I'm also getting married next year so trying to look a bit more slinky for my dress! How are your plans coming along?
Went to spinning last night and have body pump tonight, also have cycled to work and back all week which is a 6 mile round trip. Going to try to keep that up as long as it's dry! Food today: granola and a banana for breakfast, omelette and salad for lunch, bolognese sauce on veg rather than pasta for tea.
Keep it up everyone! Have a good day Smile

Mamama31 · 13/05/2015 14:22

Hey ladies, I just had a tasty snack. Gluten free oatcakes with peanut butter and sliced banana. I made 2 but felt full after 1 so going to keep it until later on when I feel hungry. It was quite filling! The oatcakes on their own would be awful but with that topping they were pretty nice :)

GreatJoanUmber · 13/05/2015 14:29

Hey, can I join too? I've started MFP in January (just before my baby's 1st birthday) to lose the 'baby' weight (when really I gained more in the year postpartum than during pregnancy!).
Anyway, I managed to shift 39lbs so far, but I've still got at least 2 stone to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
I'm finally starting to fit into some of my old 'fat clothes' just about which is a great motivator!

addstudentdinners2 · 13/05/2015 14:30

oooh Mama that sounds very good!

My food diary:

Greek yoghurt with one sliced banana and teaspoon of honey

lunch: 2 plain rice cakes and 2 rice cakes with cottage cheese

for dinner I'm making beef and ricotta burgers (no bread) with a nice big salad

after dinner snack will be a meringue with some rasperries and natural yog

Have had 3x cups of tea (no way am I giving up tea) but will drink herbal and water only for the rest of the day

GreatJoanUmber · 13/05/2015 14:32

Forgot to mention, I'm 5'7" which of course makes me a tall willowy goddess and currently 11st 12lb. Hoping to get back to 9.5-10st ish.

ByeByeButterfly · 13/05/2015 16:16

Well done everyone so far!

Going to have a little jog in a minute (eeek).

If anyone wants to add me on myfitnesspal I am StefM90 :)

addstudentdinners2 · 13/05/2015 16:19

byebye yay for a jog - go you!

Mamama31 · 13/05/2015 19:34

Addstudent your food sounds lush!!!! :)

Bye high five! Good luck for your jog! I am very sore from exercise yesterday so didn't do any today but planning a jog tomorrow eve.

Keep it up ladies. I already feel better from eating healthily for 3 days!

midnight1983 · 13/05/2015 20:54

Hi all. Just wondering - does anyone have any good ideas for low calorie savoury snacks? I struggle with migraines as they are triggered by hunger and sweet things but I can't just snack on toast all the time! Any good ideas? Well done everyone for staying on track - you've inspired me not to eat the spare eclair...

Mrsboathook · 13/05/2015 22:01

Aaaaggghhh. Really struggling tonight. The lure of the wine bottle proved too much after a day with a sick baby and toddler. Have managed to resist the tayto crisps but have had to take myself off to bed. Confused Tomorrow is another day..... Must try hard to not give up having broken this evening- this has always been my downfall with diets before, and I'm trying to think of this a a lifestyle change rather than a diet.

addstudentdinners2 · 14/05/2015 13:16

Mrs Boat don't worry, we all have days like that :)

Food today:

Natural yoghurt with banana, oats and honey

Carrot and chickpea soup

Kale, pearl barley and cumin soup with roast trout

Plus 4 teas!

What's on everyone else's menu today?

ArcheryAnnie · 14/05/2015 13:44

Hello everyone - would love to join in, have been cutting down for about a month, though am not yet ready to post my weight...

I've lost about half a stone, am now at a bit of a standstill, and so far I haven't had too much trouble with just not eating so much - though I love my carbs, potatoes, pasta, etc, all with butter.

But today am SO HUNGRY and trying not to snap and have fifteen slices of toast! Have just had my filler-up standby - bowl of iceberg, sliced tomatoes with black pepper and a big tablespoon of tahini on the top - but it hasn't really helped.

Tea, I think, is my next step! (Cup of, not meal.)

addstudentdinners2 · 14/05/2015 18:25

Welcome archery :)

I find that pulses and other grains - lentils, beans, pearl barley etc can provide a good fix to replace carbs!

MicrochipsAndMemories · 18/05/2015 07:52

Sorry I've been absent, had a crazy week.
How has everyone's diet been? Found any amazing healthy snacks?

Its weigh in day Sad

I have lost 1lb exactly. Grin
Not amazing but better than nothing.

Good luck everyone else! Smile
