Hello all :)

I have seen many topics similar to this one but there was so many already I felt a little swamped so I wanted to start my own in hope it would motivate me to well, eat less bad things and exercise more!

I am 5ft and weigh 12st.

I want to be around 9 1/2 to 10st.

I would at least like to lose a stone in 3 months as I'm getting married.

Anyone with specific recommendations of certain foods to eat/not eat, certain exercises to do etc please do feel free to share.

Tomorrow I am starting to eat more healthier. Plenty of chicken and eggs for me. I think one of my biggest problems is I love carbs. I also weigh a lot so exercise tires me out quicker than if I weighed less as I sweat more.

I hope someone else will share the journey with me so I don't feel so huge and yucky!

Thanks for reading this anyways :)

Hi everyone, I would like to join too and hopefully get myself motivated!

I am 5'4 and this morning I was 13st 7

I would love to be 10 stone something again as I was pre-DC and my biggest hurdle is cutting down on carbs...especially sugar...

I am already walking 10,000 steps a day but really need to work on reducing my calorie intake (sugar cravings)

Here's to seeing some weight losses next Monday (smile)

rubadubba · 11/05/2015 12:07

I'm 5'3, 13st 1. I'm heavier now than when I was pregnant. I accepted being 11 st, then 12st, I cannot accept 13 and keep going. I was happy around 10st 7ish.

A Monday weigh in sounds good.

FruitOwl · 11/05/2015 13:05

Good morning all, may I join you please? I am 5 foot 3 and weigh 12st1, down from 13st4 at end of January.
I've been overweight for a long time and this is probably the lowest my weight's been in over 3 years. Before that I got down to 10 stone by low carbing, but couldn't sustain it longer term. The carbs found me.
So, I'm getting married next May and would like to look nice in my wedding dress! I'm aiming for around 10st5.
I gave up smoking in October which has made things tricky as now have a real sweet tooth! But generally am trying to stick to lean protein, lots of fruit and veg, full fat dairy, lots of water, and eating vegetarian at least half of the week (my fiancé is veggie). I've also cut way back on alcohol and started working out around 5 times a week, including swimming, circuits, yoga and body pump. It's working, very slowly, but I feel I need a bit of motivation to stay on the right track!
Best of luck everyone and I'll join you for Monday weigh-in from next week x

MicrochipsAndMemories · 11/05/2015 13:12

I just made these for lunch.
Turkey mince
Taco seasoning mix
Baby gem lettuce.

They were delicious and it made enough for my lunches for 5 days and are only 123 calories for the whole plate!

Hope you're all being strong over lunch!

Planning to lose 2 to 2 1/2 stone anyone else want to join me?
Mamama31 · 11/05/2015 13:23

Hi ladies. It's weigh day!!!! (and I am absolutely disgusted with myself at my weight)

Height 5 ft 2
Weight 11 stone 7.5 (I thought I was 11, 5 at the most)

Today I have had alpen for brunch and will have only fruit and fat free yoghurt to snack on. Going to look in to healthy dinner options. A long power walk will also happen today. I really can't believe I've put on this much weight, that is enough to shock me in to doing this now!!!!

Good luck ladies! And well done to those who have already lost and those doing couch to 5k. I plan to start running again this week.

Mamama31 · 11/05/2015 13:25

Microchips! That looks awesome! Thanks for sharing, I'm not a fan on turkey mince but would use very lean mince beef it looks yum!

MicrochipsAndMemories · 11/05/2015 13:35

Because the taco mix is so strong you can't actually taste that it's turkey mince. I don't like Turkey mince in things like bolognese, it taste wrong. But this was really good :D

Mamama31 · 11/05/2015 13:56

Oh good to micro! And turkey is much healthier!

Does anyone have any healthy ideas in relation to sauce for chicken? I'm going to have chicken, salad and a small portion of brown rice cooked in vegetable stock with peppers, onions and mushrooms through it. But I hate dry chicken! Any healthy ideas to make the chicken tasty, healthy but not dry??

midnight1983 · 11/05/2015 14:59

I did a weigh in this morning (previous weight was from last week) and I think I lost...a pound ?? but am due on my period so hard to tell! Also my scale is hard to read - think I need digital.

addstudentdinners2 · 11/05/2015 15:00

Can I join?? Am 10st 6, 5ft 3. Would like to be about 8st 7 if I can possibly manage it, but would be happy with 9st.

HATE calorie counting.

Anyone see results with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred?

ChrisQuean · 11/05/2015 17:34

Can I join too please?

Me = 5'2" and weigh 64kg, which is about 10st. I'm shocked at myself. I was lucky in the past and used to hover about the 8st7 mark with no effort or control at all, but I'm 40 in 4 weeks and my metabolism's slowing - a load of IVF drugs, a sedentary FT job and two huge babies mean I'm big. I feel depressed at letting myself go generally, not just my weight - frizzy hair, dull skin, etc. I want to get back to 8st7 again. I think it's doable.

I do quite a lot of exercise, so it's all calories and lack of insight into my bad eating habits. A nightly red wine habit, too many carbs during breastfeeding and sleepless nights and a fondness for eating out has made me balloon.

Mamama31 · 11/05/2015 18:23

Welcome Chris! Sounds like your ivf was successful though which is great :) we are on a waiting list for ivf but won't have treatment until the new year, hoping to get lucky again naturally though. I also love my red wine but when I'm dieting I try to drink gin and diet tonic if I really want a drink.

Well I have to say I've been so good today so far. Alpen, a nice big fruit salad with a bit of fat free yoghurt and a yummy healthy dinner: grilled chicken, salad and my own savoury spicy rice. It was very tasty. I poured a nice salad dressing on the salad and chicken it's from sainsburys chilli, soy and ginger (so good) and then the I cooked a very small portion of brown rice with a veg stock cube in with it and added fried (low fat spray) peppers, onions, mushrooms, garlic and red chilli's. It was very tasty.

Looking forward to hearing others healthy meal ideas so that it makes this whole diet/healthy lifestyle a bit easier!

Writemove · 11/05/2015 19:21

I'm so hungry.
There were donuts at work and I resisted. V proud.

I'm eating a lot of fish at the moment. Eating less is more expensive.
Will definitely try turkey.

I didn't realise breastfeeding burns calories so much - around 200 according to mfp. No wonder I felt odd on Sunday when I fed three times, went swimming (well splashing), week three of couch to 5k and had around 1200 cals to eat. Oops.

I'm in awe of those of you who are 10st something as your starting weight - that's my goal weight.

addstudentdinners2 · 11/05/2015 19:32

Write it depends on your height I guess. 10 St 6 is a lot to carry if you're 5ft 3 like me :)

Just trying to get to a healthy BMI if nothing else!

Well done for being good today :)

Mamama31 · 11/05/2015 20:04

Write well done resisting the donuts! And yes it's good bf burns some cals too but need to make sure your eating enough also!

I'm feeling ok tonight, I think the shock of the scales this morning is enough to keep me off bad food for a while at least!

midnight1983 · 11/05/2015 20:24

Well done not having the donuts! There are eclair sin my fridge and I'm not having them! Anyone else struggle at around 4 pm? Really stuck for healthy snacks that will put hunger at bay...

ByeByeButterfly · 11/05/2015 21:56

Well done everyone who has resisted the sweet stuff.

Any ideas on healthy dinner options?

Welcome to the newcomers :)

Well done on resisting elcairs midnight.

Student, I'm only an inch taller than you Confused but I've never been skinny. I'm all hips and boobs. I'd be very happy with 10st 8lb ish. I'm aiming for healthier, which can only be a good thing.

I'd love tips on beating the 4pm hunger slump.

Salmon and baked potato made me feel full for the first time since I started mfp. Maybe this will get easier. (?)

weebarra · 12/05/2015 06:42

Well, I stayed under my mfp goal of 1200 cals yesterday, but it was not easy! Still, I need to do this and I will!

madwomanbackintheattic · 12/05/2015 06:50

I'm going to hover in the margins - also 5'2" and just over 11stone. I love that there are so many short people on this thread! And so many of us around the same weight as well! Usually everyone is lighter than me or taller than me, but this feels like home! Fingers crossed in a few months we'll all be feeling better!

CocoaBeans · 12/05/2015 07:27

Oh, I am. I'm on my fitness pal if anybody wants to add me - I'm KatyDidADiet

I've got about 5 stone to lose but 2 will do to start with.

weebarra · 12/05/2015 08:32

Yes, there's so many of us about the same size/weight, which is a good thing!

addstudentdinners2 · 12/05/2015 08:34

write you could try chewing gum or drinking fizzy water, that helps me with hunger!

addstudentdinners2 · 12/05/2015 08:35

madwoman yes, come join us shorties :)

Having take away pizza this evening so basically eating nothing til then to save all my calories for tonight. Anyone else do this??

MicrochipsAndMemories · 12/05/2015 09:51

Pizza sounds nice but if it meant starving myself all day I think I'd pass haha

I tend to have bacon eggs and mushroom for breakfast when I'm dieting. It fills me up for ages and doesn't actually have that many calories. Doesn't seem like diet food either so it's enjoyable.

Then I have turkey taco wraps for lunch and cottage pie without the mash for tea with loads of veg. Actually really enjoying the diet so far.

I haven't touched any sweets yet. those are my weakness.

What's everyone else eating today?
