Alevere / Alizonne

dm2ooo · 23/03/2015 11:46

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

Hi All I started first week of Feb at 90kg and am now at 61.5kg after 22 weeks. and on phase 3. I have to be honest and that I did cheat on a handful of occassion which set me back around 3 weeks. On average my weight loss was 1.3-1.5kg a week. I started phase 3 last week with the introduction of food has now made me think about what I need to eat and also am feeling hungry. Gorged on popcorn and chocolates at the cinema last night not good. Tightening treatments are great but I have found flabbly loose skin around my thighs now everywhere else fine so wil lhave to start toning now. I do have a fear of food now as think it will make me put on weight !! Does anyone else feel that?.

ritzyAish · 08/07/2015 15:45

Wow - this is a really big thread! And very encouraging to see all the sharing and support as well as the small (and not so small) successes that add up!

@Gemsta26, I have booked in for the initial consult on 10th July, so I guess we will be progressing through the weeks together - would love to be in touch and provide and receive support.

I've not done any very low calorie dieting before, so a little worried. I'm looking to lose 4 stones atleast - that should get me to my pre-pregnancy (I have 2 kids - 9 yrs and 7 yrs) weight and I'll be happy to attain and maintain that for the rest of my life, as I'm really concerned about my health now - I have started having knee and ankle pains when I walk down stairs, and I'm convinced that is due to all the extra weight I have been carrying around for the past decade :(

So anyway, fingers crossed and looking forward to this challenge!

And well done dm2ooo for starting this post!

ritzyAish · 08/07/2015 15:46

@AudreyPatterson - how did your consultation go?

ritzyAish · 10/07/2015 09:46

A very useful blog I found on someone's Alevere journey: myaleverejourney.wordpress.com/

singy · 13/07/2015 19:56

I haven't posted for a while, still on track, seems to have slowed a bit for me now but still getting around 3lb a week.

I do tend to sub the evening sachet though which of course I'm not supposed to but while the weight is still coming off I don't care.

Just short of 6 stone lost since starting at the end of February. should be on phase 2 next week I think. Can't wait to be done now, it's not the difficulty of the keeping to the diet for me, it's how binding it has become not having a few drinks with friends or family.

I'm below 17 stone now and stopping at 15 (large bloke) most people question how I can need to lose another 2 stone but I seem to hide the weight well.

Keep it up everyone.

ritzyAish · 14/07/2015 14:30

Started the programme today, and have a question: did anyone else have a case of the 'runs'? I had a caramel drink for breakfast and a strawberry drink for 10 am and then had to visit the loo 3 times! Not sure if I need to discuss this with the doctor?

Great work Singy - very encouraging to read about your progress! Smile

essy28 · 15/07/2015 15:54

Hi, I'm on week 4 now and lost 17lbs. I'm still inspired by people's posts and it helps keep me positive. Amazed at my willpower to not cheat and carry on. My friends and family haven't been as supportive as I'd like they all keep telling me I can have a treat so I'm glad I've been able to say no!
ritzyAish personally I haven't had any toilet issues, I was told I may suffer constipation but touch wood I've been ok.
Well done everyone keep posting your journies!!

Elouise666 · 15/07/2015 20:09

On my 10th day of alevere and I have lost 11lb I just put some chocolate in my mouth and spat it out - the expense of this diet really makes you think if I had eaten that chocolate It would be like throwing £220 in the fire apart from today Iv got on ok with it help seeing big results
Anyone just starting out? Or if you have been on for a while any words of wisdom

gemsta26 · 16/07/2015 18:58

Has consult, got the shakes/packet food.... Day 2 for me, so no weight to report.... Just trying to jazz food a little, added fresh mushrooms to the mushroom soup with some garlic granules, spring onion and fresh coriander, was pretty ok...
I had the runs yesterday on my first day, but seem ok now... Think its just the shock to the system..... Ok, so what is the Quinton that we are taking?? How does this help?

gemsta26 · 24/07/2015 12:50

Weigh in was yesterday, a 6lb loss.... Its a good loss but was expecting more for my first week....

dm2ooo · 25/07/2015 15:47

HI EVERYONE!!!

I haven't posted for a while so it's great to come back and see so many new starters/contributors. And hear about so much great progress.

After losing 48 lbs in 13 weeks, I decided to take a break for a number of social events and holidays (went from 20/22 to 16). So I'm back to finish the 2nd half now - heading for 9 stone.

I couldn't wait to get back on Alevere and the break proved to me that I wouldn't lose any weight on my own!

For those worrying about coming off or the physical effects of the diet, taking the break showed me how much healthier I have become - toilet stuff went back to normal straight away, no problems after having a few drinks and had no desire to stuff my face at all. Even turned down cakes because there was nothing I fancied!

Still went to the gym nearly every day but didn't lose any weight. Put on a few lbs straight away (normal to go up and down a few lbs at the start and end of a diet) but lost it all again the 1st week back on the plan.

REALLY EXCITED to see where I'll be in another 3 months. I did pretty well on my own but failed when I couldn't control food (work, holidays). So I'm going to focus on that over the next weeks. I have another work trip coming up and I am going to stay on the plan.

1st week back - lost 6lbs that I went up over the 4 wk break.

Loved reading all your posts:

singy - always inspirational to hear about your amazing progress

wolfie100 - what a great post and great results. I agree with almost everything you said except I do exercise (which probably slows my weight loss a bit) and I hate gherkins! :) What is the chin treatment???

audrey - I completely empathise with your concerns about work and kids. I didn't tell anyone at work - I just avoided any situations where food was involved. People don't usually say anything after you say "no thanks" or "i'm fine". If someone has made something, I say "looks delicious but I can't today." I usually take a couple of made up drinks and a salad with chicken burger. Looks like normal food. You can also use the pizza sachet to make pitta bread and take salad pockets. Now that I've lost loads of weight, people know I've been dieting but because I don't talk about it, they don't ask much. Some friends are more inquisitive but I focus on how I feel about losing weight than talking about what I'm doing. I just say controlled food and going to the gym, and that I don't like to talk about it much!

With the kids - I am not hungry but sometimes making my favourite dinners can be tough. The kids have been told to chuck any leftovers in the bin straight away. If you can make it through the couple of minutes when you're really tempted, you'll be fine. I've accepted (big learning) that I have to be around cakes and sweets but I don't have to eat them. MY SECRET - WHEN I REALLY WANT SOMETHING THE KIDS ARE EATING, I SMELL THE FOOD FOR AGES UNTIL THE CRAVING GOES AWAY. I sniffed popcorn for 20 mins in the cinema last night - not tempted to eat it at all. And then I look forward to some strawberries and choc pudding.

gemsta - great start! I've learnt not to worry too much about each week - just keep clocking up the weeks and before you know it you'll have lost 2 stone!

How is everyone doing this week?

And has anyone tried the new raspberry muffins?

Or the new Alevere forum?

Hello, I have just started Alevere since Thursday so this is day 3 and I just realised that for my afternoon snack I took one of the restricted sachets (the oatmeal) when I'd already had a restricted sachet for lunch |(cheese omelette). I am kicking myself. Does anyone know if this will have any negative impact on my weight loss or take me out of ketosis? I am struggling a bit with the whole diet routine, am enjoying eating the salads and veg but I have all the sachets in a box and just totally forgot about some being restricted to one a day. Am really hoping it will get easier as the weeks continue and will just become a new routine. Any advice would be welcome, Thanks!

Wanttogetslimmer · 26/07/2015 22:25

Dear All, I started the diet last Saturday and have lost 12lbs so far - I was told after a breathing test that my metabolic rate was 2400 - which is great news but begs the question of how I got so large over the course of the last year! I think it was mainly due to going through the menopause (relatively early from 42 until 45) - I think I am over the worst of it now - and changing to a much more stressful but sedatory job.

I am not finding it too difficult yet, except to eat/drink all that I am supposed to - I have just lost interest in food and can happily cook meals for the family without wanting anything. But of course it is very early days and I hope to join in with this fantastic thread to help when I feel tempted or down hearted with the diet, and to help others if I can.

A couple of things I have learned so far; I have hot water and Lemon every morning which makes me feel nicely cleansed for the day, I have made courgetti with a vegetable spiraliser, and used the mageritta pizza toping as a sauce and covered the 'bread' with garlic granules (very nice), I like the pancake and sauce and the cold drinks.

I was offered the chin adapter as part of the skin toning which I am very thankful for, but think it is too early to report improvements from the treatment.

I have between 4 and 5 stone to lose - 4 will get me to the top of my healthy zone and 5 will get me back to my preferred weight.

Anyway good luck to everyone on the journey at the same time as me and thank you those who are well on the way to their target weight - your posts inspired to me start and gave me the encouragement to know the diet works. X

wolfie100 · 27/07/2015 00:27

Hi all, I have now lost 5 stone 3 since the end of January and am so chuffed. I feel great and still thoroughly recommend this diet.

I started stage 2 a week ago and you get to choose whether to have meat, fish or dairy each day instead of a 5th sachet. The biggest surprise was that if you go for the meat option you have 125g of meat in a day. When I weighed the meat out I found I actually couldn't manage to eat it all! I then had a bit of an upset stomach as it just wasn't used to meat! I have decided I prefer the dairy option and usually have a boiled egg and 200g of fat free plain yoghurt. This somehow seems to fill me up more than the meat does (and I'm allergic to fish).

I didn't have a massive weight loss in my first stage 2 week - just .4 of a kg but it's early days and sometimes you just have a week like that.

I am now buying some things in size 12 which I never thought I would be able to. It's amazing.

In my last post I said I hate exercise but now I am so much slimmer I decided to get on my bike which I hadn't ridden in 10 years. It was scary but great and I have been cycling every day for 9 days now - not very far I admit but it's a start and it proves how losing so much weight really changes your outlook on life.

I would love to hear from anyone who has tried stage 2 and/or later stages to see how they are finding it.

I have just been catching up on recent posts and someone asked about what the chin treatment is. It's skin toning on your chin with a different smaller attachment. It is done direct onto your skin. Definitely ask for it each week.

I am interested to hear what parts of their body people are choosing for the ultrasound treatment. I have had months on my tummy but decided recently to change and have a few weeks on my arms as they are looking a bit saggy now and I often have them out in the sun so want them to look good! Are people seeing successes with the treatment in any particular part of their bodies?

Thanks again for starting this thread - it's so helpful.

wolfie100 · 27/07/2015 00:38

Bellissima2015 - don't worry, there will always be the odd thing that you get slightly wrong at the beginning, there's a lot to adapt to but just stick with it and you will soon get your new habits fully established. I found at the beginning it really helped me to write down everything that I was eating and to go through that with the clinician in the treatment session to keep checking I was doing it right.

Dm2000 - what are the raspberry muffins and the Alevere forum?

dm2ooo · 27/07/2015 11:28

Great to see more new people on the diet.

bellissima - don't sweat it - it's just a few more calories which is why they restrict it. It won't push you back out of ketosis. Having said that - I've found the diet works best when you stick to it by the letter (sachet timings etc) - but that may just be psychological. :) I wrote down everything too for the first couple of months.

wanttogetslimmer - great results so far and thanks for the tip on the garlic bread - I'm going to try it today. I am super lazy at making new meals.

wolfie - fantastic to hear about your success. Size 12! I can't wait. Thinking of getting some treatments on my arms too - let me know if you see a difference. Raspberry muffins are a new sachet - very raspberry, very quick to cook (couple of mins in the microwave) but I'm not sure about them.

Alevere main website just re-launched their forum - that's not much on it yet. You need to register and then wait for it to be approved. I might post a couple of questions on there and see if there's any response. :)

Hi all!

Great to hear how everyone is doing on Alevere! I'm in the considering stage of going this route so I was just looking for a bit of advice really.

Is it worth the cost and does it take a lot of willpower to keep it up?

I've got the free consultation thing booked in for the Watford clinic next week so hopefully I'll get a better idea if it would suit me.

Looking forward to hearing from you all and any advice you could give me would be much appreciated ????

Thanks,
V

Wanttogetslimmer · 28/07/2015 09:53

Hi Vjh85,

I would say go for it if you can stretch yourself - there are very few bad comments about the diet out there, and it really does work. That said, if you have the patience and long-term determination there are other, cheaper methods.

For me, I know I would be better thinking of it as 20 weeks of 'pain' to get back to normal - I just know with my social life etc, that I would fall off the wagon if the same weight loss took me a year.

I found day one hard in terms of hunger, day 2 hard in terms of headache and nausea, but since then (and it is very early days for me) I haven't been hungry or craved any foods - in fact I find it hard to have the 5th sachet.

It is a lot of money (and not easy for me either) and I hope this will also keep me on track as the weeks tick by.

Good Luck with your appointment.

dm2ooo · 29/07/2015 23:06

4 pounds down this week after 15 weeks on the diet (not counting my 4 weeks off). Getting very close to 4 stone lost! Feels unreal but my size 16 jeans don't lie. Also feeling like I have very toned legs! :) So goooooood week.

Hi Vjh85 - the cost makes it a very personal choice. There are cheaper ways to lose weight. For me, the investment has been absolutely worth it but it's a huge stretch, and I work hard to make extra cash to put towards it. The cost is one of the main reasons I have stuck to it - no chocolate bar is worth £100! It works better if the money means more to you (someone pointed that out to me today).

Personally, it's the easiest diet I have been on - because every week it works. I have a few sachets I like and I like salad and veg. Like a lot of people, fitting in the 5 sachets can be tough and I'm rarely hungry but it's important that you stick to it. I get the odd craving but then I have a lovely hot choc or strawberries with choc mousse and I'm fine.

It's not a perfect plan but it has delivered what it said it would. Some weeks are a bit slower (but still better than a regular diet) and I have lost 3.5 lbs per week on average (after the 1st week).

OP posts:
Pipan127 · 30/07/2015 10:50

Soo good to read all your posts! I am on week 4 and have lost 14.5 lbs to date. It is expensive but I thought about it for a year while trying on my own with a bit of slow success. A 0% credit card is the best option for me and extra hours at work. As someone else said earlier the cost stops you from cheating big time!!! I won't get weighed until next week so this thread will keep me motivated. I am already at my lowest weight for about 5 years. My metabolism test showed 1350 so reading other posts I now realise that this is quite low. So much for a woman needing 2000 calories a dayConfused

Rose62 · 30/07/2015 12:40

I, too, have just started Alevere and am enjoying reading all the inspirational stories on here. Also the recipes and tips. I am on Day 4. So far, so good. I have 10kg to lose and am hoping this diet will work for me.

gemsta26 · 30/07/2015 18:53

So, 2nd weigh in today and 4.5lbs off.... 10.5 in 14 days... So its all going the right way.... The salad is boring me now.... The veg list is soooo restrictive.... Cant believe that onion is not allowed and beansprouts and cabbage are limited Hmm...... But..., onwards as we go.... Well done ladies... X

Rose62 · 31/07/2015 07:26

Well done gemsta - I'd be ecstatic if I had lost that amount in only 2 weeks. Amazing result. I'm confused, though - according to my instructions, spring onions and green cabbage are on the unlimited veg list (just savoy cabbage is on the restricted list).

Nore22 · 31/07/2015 14:16

Hi all...so good to read all your messages. Today is my 5th day....so far so good...not feeling hungry which weird for me!! my metabolism is also really slow Pipan127, about 1350, so Im trying to keep the motivation up....today is my first weight in (shorter week for me) Im a little bit nervous about it. im thinking about what to get for next week....so far Strawberry milkshake and hot chocolate are my favorites...
