Here we go again!

Ok it's the magic thread where we find inspiration, motivation and actually see the results we want and manage to hold on to them once we get them.

No more excuses (unless they are hilarious or necessary).

Welcome all!

Well done on starting Sol I am sure you will see some fast results. Lots of luck with it. Do you drink fizzy water? I found this really helped when I did exante.

This morning the scales were wavering between 10.13 and 11, so I am trying to do a fast day to get in the 10's. I am fully prepared to put on weight while on holiday but hope to limit to less than 1/2 stone - fingers crossed no more and then my plan is to start 5:2 again, the week I am back. I wanted to be 10.8 for the holiday, bit annoyed didn't try harder but I know I am making progress. Still on week 5 of c25k!!! One day I will progress.
We need a new thread title.... New mums, episode 5, the force awakens. Seriously I can't think of anything vaguely humorous (I definitely need a holiday).
I haven't had chance to read about Mindfulness but I think it training your mind to focus on the now and not linger on the past, positive thinking etc. I am definitely going to read more and get book though.

How are you Green and rachey ?

BeyondTheSea · 22/03/2016 14:36

Sorry you feel down about your tummy rachey think very common post baby problem. Would yoga help?

Racheyg · 22/03/2016 22:19

sol the beak too longest as I decided to scrunch up lots of little pieces and was so time consumming for two bonnets the rest went quite well. Oh finished off ds2's for me while I made cupcakes with yellow buttercream frosting.

Is exante similar to cambridge? how has today gone? do you suffer from headaches ect? I second fizzy water, makes me feel im drinking something other than water and the bubbles kinda fill me up (if thats possible)

beyond wow you are doing so well, when do you go off on holiday? is it all inclusive/half board? have you started packing?

I have never done yoga before. Im used to doing high energy exercise. I will try anything, but I think I will have to live in controlled underwear for the rest of my life. I hate the way it sags down :( if it was a pot belly I think I could deal with it.

green hows your week going?

BeyondTheSea · 23/03/2016 06:33

Quick post before work: 10.13.

In case I don't have chance to post again before hols, have a fab Easter x

SolitudeSometimesIs · 24/03/2016 04:09

Have a great holiday Beyond, have lots of lovely food and cocktails for us!

I'm not sure what the Cambridge diet is Rachey, Exante is packets of dehydrated meals that you rehydrate and eat, they taste quite nice. Then they have bars and shakes and stuff too. I have to wear control tops too, I've given up any hope of having a decent stomach, it's depressing isn't it? Although control tops give me amazing cleavage when I use them to hoik my bra up - so silver linings and all that Grin

Day 1 of Exante went well, day 2 was a disaster. I went to my friends house for the day and she had made a huge spread for lunch and I couldn't really say "Oh no thanks, I have a sachet of spag bol to rehydrate" so I had some regular food. But I will just go back to Exante today and hope to see some results soon. I was looking back on my phone and in May last year I weighed 182 lbs (13 stone) so that means I put on 1 stone 4 lbs between May and December - how feckin depressing is that?

Right, I'm off to hopefully get some sleep before the kids wake up.

Still trundling on with Exante here, though my plans to weigh in every day have been scuppered due to the fact that I keep forgetting to do it. My second order arrived today so I will be troughing through the stuff for weeks.

I may have picked the worst time to decide to start a low cal diet as the house is full of chocolate and the local pizza companies seem out to entice me to cheat. Today we got a voucher for a free pizza, followed by a text to my phone from another company offering me a hugely discounted meal deal (literally 15 quid for enough food to feed 10 people). I am going to have a day off for Easter Sunday as we have plans and I think that while I have to lose weight, I have to live a family life too.

DH has been very sweet and supportive but he needs to be able to eat as and when he wishes, but I think he is struggling with eating junk in front of me. I have felt really down about my appearance and he's been so kind. I wonder if it's really hard for him to have to listen to me moan about my weight, I'd ask him but if he said it was difficult, who the hell would I moan at then Grin

I'm finding the food really nice, I bought a few Deliciously Different (I think that's what it's called) rice and dahl pots, they are quite like pot noodle/quick lunch pots that you add water to and cover with the lid for a few minutes. They are so nice and really handy if you are eating in rush. I got some cookies too, but I have yet to try them as they are really small and supposed to replace a meal, I'm not sure how full I will feel after them. The sweet and sour noodles are delish, I just add some extra chilli and garlic and the ham, mushroom and pasta soup is weirdly tasty, as is the carbonara.

How is everyone else doing?

OP posts:
Racheyg · 25/03/2016 22:22

sol it sounds like the exante is going well. The Cambridge is vlc diet with soups, shakes and porridge. Slowly u start introducing "meals" I think it's quite expensive and very limiting but works. (So I've heard)

I do believe in balance so yes you should have Easter Sunday off. Enjoy it with your family GrinChocolate

I have to finally buy the controlled underwear from primark ( penny's) as I'm starting to really notice the way my tummy sags.

beyond have a good holiday. Relax and enjoy ur self WineSmile

green how are u getting on?

I weighed myself today and I'm 10st 7lbs. I haven't been sticking to the diet as I've lost motivation I've just been exercising and trying ( although failing) to only eat carbs on exercise day. I just wish I could dedicate myself to the diet.

Been such nice weather here in London, went to the park and out for lunch. All was fine till got home me and ds1 were playing and he headbutted me (by accident) and split my lip :( then a hour later he was being silly then tripped over my foot and busted his lip blood everywhere Shockbye was inconsolable and only wanted daddy Hmm then he fell asleep from 17.30-19.30 and he is still up now Shock

Greenrabbit · 25/03/2016 22:49

Hi everyone.

Have a great holiday Beyond. Enjoy time with the family and forget about work.

Hi Rachey, I think Exante is like Cambridge only you don't get the support. I lost 2 stone (in about 10 weeks) on it in 2014. But I took a break for Christmas and never got back into it!
I hope DS1 goes to sleep soon. DD2 did that yesterday, including the head butting (she was thrashing around to stay awake) and late nap. She's had lots of tantrums and long naps this week. It's very frustrating, I've turned to wine a lot. The rest of your day sounded nice. It's been the first nice day up North, unfortunately the forecast is rain for the rest of the weekend.

Brilliant weigh in. You must be doing something right. Don't be hard on yourself. It's difficult to get back into a routine after going back to work.

I don't think there is much you can do about the stomach skin. But on the Mutu group someone mentioned deep tissue massage for improving c section scar tissue. It's supposed to help generally. Could you get some nice oil and try to give it a good rub in every day? Although I remember reading that Victoria Beckham just tucks everything into her jeans! I try not to look at mine now.

Have Easter Sunday off if you feel that you need it Sol. Otherwise you might go on a massive binge (that might just be me). I really admire that you've started before Easter, that takes will power.

I lost 1lb this week (which was amazing because of the wine). But I've not stopped eating since Wednesday. I'm away for the weekend too. I am going to start counting points again on Wednesday and go back to Exante next Monday. I might order some of the products you mentioned as I was going to buy more bars anyway. I'm tempted just to buckle down and do it till I'm 2 stone down.

I have been reading some self help books (corny, I know) and I've been working on not being so negative about myself. It has been working. I don't want to wish my life away. I may be over weight, but I'm not hugely obese and not in danger of having to be airlifted out of the house anytime soon.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. I'll try to post tomorrow.

Racheyg · 28/03/2016 17:11

I have eaten soooo much that I feel constantly sick Shock I'm avoiding the scales at all costs.

Hope you all have had a good Easter?

Greenrabbit · 28/03/2016 20:36

Me too Rachey Easter Shock

SolitudeSometimesIs · 29/03/2016 08:38

Me three Rachey. I was a scoffer over the weekend, we had lots of food in the house and people over and we went out and ate, basically it was a free for all. But I had a great time.

I have had Exante for breakfast and it definitely didn't taste as nice as Easter eggs. I have loads of housework to do but I can't find the motivation, we spent the whole day out yesterday and did lots of walking so the kids are exhausted and I'm pretty tired too.

I hope you all had a lovely Easter.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 29/03/2016 14:52

Similar story here too Sol. Although we were away, but now I seem to have piles of clothes to wash and put away, plus bags to empty.

We somehow came home with more food than we took with us.

It was a nice weekend though.

I feel ill now and can't be bothered to do anything. Plus I had a McDonalds for lunch which didn't help.

Greenrabbit · 30/03/2016 08:44

How did the Exante day go Sol?.

I am definitely going to start it again on Sunday/Monday. I feel like a big fat lump. I dare not step on the scales. No WW for me this week!
I'm hoping that feeling slightly ill will put me off food. DH is off work this week (which is very rare) so I don't want to start Exante just yet incase we want to eat out.
He's actually at work this morning. I will go for a little walk with the DC soon and hopefully go to the beach or a park for a walk this afternoon.

I saw some pictures that DH took last weekend, so depressing. I just look so fat and old Sad. He tried to point out that I'd had a couple of bad nights with DD2, but that doesn't account for looking so fat!
I'm just going to have to up my game.

How are you doing Rachey?

Racheyg · 30/03/2016 08:59

Morning all,

green I hope you and the family have a great week together. Start fresh next week. Are you going to do WW or exante? You did so well to lose 2st in 10 weeks back in 2014.

Do you have any nice plans this week? Hope the weather holds out so u can have fun Smile

sol how did exante go? Nothing tastes as good as an Easter egg. I ate mine in 2 days so it wasn't hanging around tempting me. I worked out mine was 1700 cals Shock

I'm ok work busy, just trying to avoid the temptation of cakes ect.

Ds1 was sick yesterday so oh was at home. I feel bad that I wasn't there for him but I don't get paid sick Angry

proudmom135 · 31/03/2016 14:06

Anyone here who tried belly dancing as a routine? My friends told me it's effective. So, I need some feedback from mums here.

Racheyg · 01/04/2016 09:33

Ahhhh 2lbs on Shock bloody Easter egg.

Racheyg · 01/04/2016 09:33

Ahhhh 2lbs on Shock bloody Easter egg.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 03/04/2016 21:33

Having a dreadful weekend here. I have been on Exante for a week and haven't lost a pound but have become bigger and bigger and felt really unwell. I went to the doctor and I have fibroids and cysts. I have a scan and possible surgery to look forward to, as well as being fat Sad. Then our out house was burgled and we have lost thousands of euro's worth of stuff. I am seriously hacked off!

I'm having lots of bloody wine now!!!!

I hope everyone is having a better weekend.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 04/04/2016 10:31

How awful Sol, are you all okay? Are you insured?

Do you know when your scan will be?

I don't blame you for having wine, you must be feeling terrible.

I had a similar experience with Exante when I tried to get back into it last year. I thought it could have been a reaction to the sweeteners. I felt really ill and didn't lose anything. But the few times that I've briefly tried it since it didn't have the same effects.
I hope the rest of the week gets easier for you Flowers

I was going to start Exante yesterday but I feel too ill to consider it. I've been a complete pig all week. I think I've probably put at least 6lb back on.
Back to sensible eating today.

How are you Rachey? 2lb isn't bad at all (especially if you compare it to me!)
Initially I didn't eat any Easter eggs. Then someone gave the DDs an M&S egg each. DD1 didn't like it because it was orange chocolate, so I ate it, then I ate DD2's because it was so nice and they have so many. Those combined with meals out and wine has not been a good combination!

SolitudeSometimesIs · 10/04/2016 20:09

Sorry for disappearing. I have been knocked out by a terrible stomach bug. I've spent the last few days in bed and it's been pretty bad.

I hope everyone has been getting on much better than me.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 11/04/2016 09:25

sol how are you feeling? I'm sorry to hear of your house being burgled and your medical issues. I hope things are looking up for you.

green how have you been?

beyond how was ur holiday?

Sorry haven't been posting had a busy week at work then went to my parents for a long weekend. I haven't been dieting at all but I have still been exercising so I hope I haven't done too much damage. I have my holiday in 5 weeks Shock

Ds2 has started to walk with a walker so he is at that difficult stage of not wanting to sit down and constantly pulling himself up. Oh and really suffering with his teeth so I am seriously sleep deprived. And my milk supply has gone crazy as he is feeding more.

Hope you all have a good Monday. X

BeyondTheSea · 12/04/2016 09:36

Hello all.

In brief I am fat - but had a fab holiday Grin

Sol sorry to hear about your cysts, break in and your stomach bug. You poor thing, what a yukky time. Let this time pass soon and brighter things come. How are you feeling today? Just an idea, but could you hire a storage unit? My friend does this for storing her work stuff. She pays around £20 a week and it's very secure.

Green how are you? Glad you had a great Easter weekend. Have you started the dreaded exante again? We are planning some long weekends away for the school holidays, can you recommend anywhere? My friend lives in Newcastle, we were thinking of meeting up somewhere easy for all to get to (although will be a long drive for us!).

Hope you got more sleep Rachey you are doing so well with the exercise. When are you planning to weigh in. Has work been ok?

Judging by my clothes I have gained at least half a stone, but am planning to fast Wed/Thurs and I might weigh in on Saturday. I am going to do the same regime, 2-3 fast days a week and 2-3 runs. Have continued running while away and now on Week 5 run 2 which is 8 mins of running and 5 mins of walking x 2.

Did lots of soul searching while away and know I have to make changes to work/life balance. Also realised we hadn't had 2 weeks on holiday together as a family for over a year and that's just wrong. Decided need to plan escape route from work. In the meantime, need to work on how I respond to work colleagues and stress. Back to work tomorrow and absolutely dreading it.

Any ideas on new thread title?

BeyondTheSea · 16/04/2016 12:00

Hope everyone had a good week?

I've been very rubbish diet wise which I suppose was to be expected with a dose of holiday and back to work blues.

Aiming for 1500 cals today and tomorrow and will fast mon/wed next week.

Off for a run once the rain stops.

I weighed in and it wasn't good, 3 weeks of non dieting apparently = 8lbs! Hoping to lose in the next 3 weeks.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Greenrabbit · 16/04/2016 12:38

Glad you had a nice holiday Beyond. 8lb isn't too bad. I put nearly 7lb on during Easter! It's almost gone now though.

My inlaws have just been to the same place as you. They went with friends who hardly eat, so they were devastated at the lack of nice meals out.

I will have a think about places to stay and put them on the new thread.

I haven't posted as I've been quite ill, I still feel rubbish and the diet keeps getting messed up. Plus I decided to declutter properly, so the house is an absolute mess! I have some very organised drawers though.

I hope you are feeling better Sol.

How has your week been Rachey? Have you had much sleep? That is a very frustrating baby stage. I keep pining for a third, but have to keep reminding myself about all those difficult stages!
