Needing to lose 4st+ - support thread!

Since I want somewhere to track my progress I'm gonna do it here and have it act as a support thread for anyone else who wants to join me - because it certainly feels daunting and we can use all the help we can get!

I am 5 foot nothing and post DS (almost 6 months) I weigh (as of this morning) 95.2kg which I believe is around 14.5stone, but I avoid using st and lbs as I find it triggering. I would like to be back down to my pre-baby weight of circa 80kg by BiL's wedding in June. So...

HippyJess
SW: 95.2kg
GW1: 80kg (June)
GW2: 68kg (September)
UGW: 58kg (March 2016)

Short Term Goal: Do Davina's 15 Minute Fit every day for a week, starting today. I did it, and some of the easy versions were hard :( which is why I need to keep going.

Hope someone out there will want to join me! Hoping to post once a day to keep myself on track :) now off I go to make myself an omelette and veggies for lunch!

Hi all, may I join? I need some boosting and you guys seem to be doing fab. I don't know how to do stats but I'm 13st and would like to be 9st. Long road ahead!

WineCowboy · 04/04/2015 08:43

Please can I join up too? I have a wardrobe full, actually full, of clothes that are too small Blush.

I need to lose at least four stone. I am heavier now than I was when I had just had dd2 seven years ago which is frankly disgraceful!

banananugget I think your idea of changing one think a week is really good so I am going to copy you starting with the water.

I do exercise with a personal trainer, aerobically once a week and am on the go all day every day at work but very sedentary at home. I need to be more disciplined and hopefully this will help......

squigglehead · 04/04/2015 09:53

Welcome new peeps!

At my mothers house for the weekend, and her scales say I'm a stone lighter than mine do and my sister swears they're accurate as she weighs the same everywhere Confused so I think I may actually be more like 85kg! Which is about a stone lighter than I thought! Still have loads to go but its a good starting point... Going to get some new scales for home today and just go by those instead. Still have loads to lose as I'm so short but at least I don't feel like I'm fighting to break the 200lb mark anymore...

Happy Easter everyone Easter Grin

banananugget · 04/04/2015 20:11

Good luck everyone. I've been really good at drinking more water this week. Today was off track completely but have spent the day travelling so will get back on it tomorrow now I'm home. Will weigh in tomorrow but think I have gained weight whilst away. Not a good start! Will keep plodding on!

mimiasovitch · 04/04/2015 20:34

Hi everyone. I've had an excellent 1st 2 weeks, and lost half a stone, but since then I've had a bad couple of days where I fell into a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine. Today has been ok, so hopefully I can get my head back into gear. I don't think I'll have done too much damage, as I wasn't over by a huge amount, and I'm pretty active, But I was so proud at feeling in control. I'm working tomorrow, and I expect it'll be busy, and as long as I have a good breakfast, I should be ok for my lovely Sunday dinner courtesy of even lovelier dh. Even better, my in laws are coming, so I won't be left looking at the left over Yorkshire puddings, as there won't be any!

squigglehead · 05/04/2015 07:02

Good going banana and mimia :)

Happy Easter Update! (my mothers scales were wrong!)

SW: 95.2kg (March 2015)
CW: 90kg (-5.2kg / 11.4lbs)
GW1: 80kg (June)
GW2: 68kg (September)
UGW: 58kg (March 2016)

WineCowboy · 05/04/2015 13:49

banana what's your plan for this week? I might try not eating crisps for a week!

banananugget · 06/04/2015 07:13

I am going to aim to walk 10000 steps a day this week I think.

Good luck with not eating crisps winecowboy and well done on the weight loss squiggle . I don't trust any scales except my own!

Stellar67 · 06/04/2015 16:07

Well done all. I have a fitbit and I walk 10,000 a day. There's this crazy lady on you tube called Lesley Sansone, she does walk on the spot workouts. Fitbit people I do challenges with love her. Personally I like to go outside!

Stellar67 · 06/04/2015 16:07

I'm going to avoid crisps too this week. They are my downfall.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 06/04/2015 18:52

May I join in? I've been posting on a Slimming World thread but I don't think I'm being helpful to the others. I started SW online 2 weeks ago but quickly decided it's not really for me (what a waste of £60!). I can't do low fat/ high carb, it doesn't work for me. So, I've been doing my own thing - lean protein, lots of veg, salad and fruit and doing lots of walking. I've lost 6.1kg in 2 weeks, which is probably mostly water but very motivating for me.

SW 111kg (23 March)
CW 104.9kg
GW1 90 kg (June)
UGW 75kg (October)

That's quite a challenge, but I think exercise is going to be key for me. I have been walking 5km or more most days and intend to keep that up.

I'm 5'7", always been big, but at 75kg I'm a loose size 14. I think that's around 11.5 stones?

I'm a size 18 now. Was a tight 18 2 weeks ago... so probably a size 20, How the fuck did that happen?! I don't even have kids. Just a sedentary job. I put 10kg on in the last 18 months. Bleugh.

Not sure how or why I work in kg for weight and feet/ inches for height!

Stellar67 · 06/04/2015 20:29

Hi Huffy,
Welcome! And good first starts. You know what to do so perhaps for you support is key? I don't think any of us know how we got to be larger, well eating too much and not watching what we eat BlushBlushBlush probably!

LondonHuffyPuffy · 06/04/2015 23:32

Hi Stellar and thanks. Yep, eating too much and not moving enough! That's what did it for me.

Tinofroses · 07/04/2015 13:18

Hi all sorry not posted in few days here. Went to sis on Sunday with a leg of lb which she cooked . I had a dessert and had 2 crunchies from an Easter egg. Did some walking also , kind of scared to weigh in this week so fingers crossed. The mojo is definitely back. Got a good look at myself in a changing roomirror stripped right down to try a dress , let me tell you it was not pleasant and I would hate anyone to see me like that.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 07/04/2015 22:27

Keep hold of that mojo, Tinofroses because soon you will look in the mirror and be happy. Fingers crossed your weigh in went well x

squigglehead · 09/04/2015 13:03

Hi everyone :) welcome all new people! Hope you're all enjoying the fabulous weather as much as I am Grin

Went for a nice walk with a friend yesterday and hoping to do a couple with DH and DS (19lbs, on my back in a sling!) over the coming week which is massively helping my self esteem too :)

Mini fast day here on my 5:2 to get back in the zone after a chocolate Easter...

SW: 95.2kg / 209lbs (March 2015)
CW: 88.9kg / 195lbs (-6.2kg / 13.7lbs)
GW1: 80kg / 175lbs (June)
GW2: 68kg / 150lbs (September)
UGW: 58kg / 127lbs (March 2016)

squigglehead · 09/04/2015 13:07

Actually looking at it I can't believe what I've achieved so far. It'll be one month and hopefully exactly one stone on the 12th. If you're doubting yourself, please don't give up! I never thought I'd be able to achieve this and I can't believe how proud I am of myself :)

Tinofroses · 09/04/2015 16:23

Squiggle thank your for that last inspirational post. I was down to 13st 7.5 this weigh in so happy with that. You have inspired me though you sound so positive. Congrats on your loss so far.

banananugget · 13/04/2015 07:07

Well done squiggle ! I'm back to work today so time to sort myself out. Have my fitbit on and my salad ready for lunch (am starting 5:2 again properly). Good luck everyone!

Tinofroses · 15/04/2015 16:38

where is everyone gone. Having an ok week hope to be down another 1 but we will see.

mimiasovitch · 16/04/2015 07:59

Morning all. I'm 11lb down now. It's taken a month, and I've felt in control the whole time, even when I had cake. I've also been exercising, but have to miss my personal training session this morning, as I'm bunged up, can't swallow and have lost my voice. Instead I'm still in bed mumsnetting! It'll keep me away from the fridge anyway. My willpower goes out the window when I feel poorly, but in clinging to the fact that I'm now in the stone down, and clothes that were tight a month ago fit lovely now. It's that sort of thing that keeps me motivated.

squigglehead · 16/04/2015 08:05

Well done mimia! Hope you feel better soon Thanks

When is your weigh in, tinof? We all have weeks that are only "ok", I think it fuels us for an awesome one after!

Had a bad week last week, but managed a fast day yesterday which went brilliantly :) feeling back on track now! Goal TDEE day today, gonna try and squeeze in some exercise too...

vickibee · 16/04/2015 11:38

I fell ill with a really aggressive flu like virus over Easter and didnot eat for a week, however now I am eating anything in sight incl lemon meringue pie, left over easter eggs and kettle chips, my taste buds arent working. I have stayed the same weight wise and must try harder, please tell me to stop eating crap!!!

squigglehead · 16/04/2015 17:01

Its just your body trying to recover, vickibee. Nourish it with good foods and the craving period should pass quicker! You can focus and get back on track :)

Tinofroses · 17/04/2015 06:26

I am down to 13st 5.5 so am thrilled. I need to keep on this as have not been feeling great and it's more important to get healthy
