Since I want somewhere to track my progress I'm gonna do it here and have it act as a support thread for anyone else who wants to join me - because it certainly feels daunting and we can use all the help we can get!

I am 5 foot nothing and post DS (almost 6 months) I weigh (as of this morning) 95.2kg which I believe is around 14.5stone, but I avoid using st and lbs as I find it triggering. I would like to be back down to my pre-baby weight of circa 80kg by BiL's wedding in June. So...

HippyJess
SW: 95.2kg
GW1: 80kg (June)
GW2: 68kg (September)
UGW: 58kg (March 2016)

Short Term Goal: Do Davina's 15 Minute Fit every day for a week, starting today. I did it, and some of the easy versions were hard :( which is why I need to keep going.

Hope someone out there will want to join me! Hoping to post once a day to keep myself on track :) now off I go to make myself an omelette and veggies for lunch!

SFB brilliant news! Well done you. That's my goal, I'm 9lbs behind you though.
raisin that made me laugh. Yes clothes shops have varying sizes.
dyrne lunchtime walks with colleagues is a great idea. Even just 20 minutes. Well done on dealing with the blip.
The Powerhoop has arrived! I got a 4lb one. It comes with a dvd and good instructions. You can use it as weights too for tackling the bingo wings.
I've put it together and the kids are playing with it. I'll maybe get a go later. I figure I'll do it in my pjs. Grin

raisin3cookies · 03/09/2015 21:15

Thanks, miaow. :) Realistically, the size 12 is a fluke, though I wore it proudly today! I am solidly in size 14s in pretty much everything, although I haven't dared to try for smaller sized jeans. Jeans shopping has been a soul-sucking experience no matter what size I am, basically. I don't think I can stomach it just yet! Additionally, my wedding band is still quite tight on my finger, and I seem to recall that I could easily slip it off and on again as a size 14 over a decade ago. Sizing is confusing; I might just go weigh myself and use that as a standard to measure myself by instead. Confused It is something I've been putting off because I'm afraid of the scales, tbh.

May I join, please?

Got home from 2 months working and travelling in the USA on Sunday, and am huge. I needed to lose about 5 stone before I left, suspect it's closer to 6 or 7 now :(

Rejoining Slimming World on Monday, so will post my starting and target weights then. I've been eating really healthily since I got back, which is good :)

Stellar67 · 04/09/2015 17:36

Welcome lollipop. Good that you've taken steps already.
I've hardly eaten today and going to gym then going to indulge in half a pizza a healthy salad. And some fruit. Have a good weekend all .

SFB just went on Crackbook as friend arranging a hen night and your dodgy jumper popped up on my newsfeed ????????????

Wow, nothing to bring you back down to earth with a bump than a nosy in the attic and an attempt to try on your wedding dress! Hah.

I also had a look at my old journal when I was pregnant with my eldest 13 years ago... now I know that I won't ever look like I did at 21 (and I've had four more children since!), but heck. Why did I waste so much time thinking I was fat back then??! I need a time machine to go and have a quiet word with my silly young self.

Jumpergate hopefully averted then!
I had my wedding dress made into a christening outfit. So I can't try that on. I would wonder if it would fit properly anyway because our bodies change after children.
Maybe you have a worm SFB. Wink If so please share it. It's rude not to.

Dyrne · 06/09/2015 09:21

Eek I am so excited today, weighed in and I have hit 2 mini goals - losing over 2 stone in total; and I am now officially Overweight rather than Obese! Am now 76.8Kg. It's given me a much needed boost of motivation as I've been feeling really tired this week; and I don't know if it's the calorie deficit or less blubber but I've definitely been feeling the cold this week a lot more than I usually do.

I hope you managed to get the photo removed from fb SFB! Well done on the weight loss, however random (maybe a helpful tapeworm? Whatever works! Wink )

Raisin - size 14 is still great, I completely agree on the nonsensical sizing structure everywhere - men have it so easy with actual measurements on their clothing!

Hi Lolipop, it's great that you're making healthy changes already - USA sounds amazing; but I can completely see how it would be very easy to gain weight - all the portions in restaurants etc seem huge! I've developed a reputation for always having steak when I'm travelling with work - but that's only because it's easy to calculate calories and it's always more difficult staying under my allowance when I'm eating out all the time. Plus steak is amazing and free steak is even better

LollipopViolet · 06/09/2015 11:27

Yeah, the USA is not diet friendly! I'm currently looking for exercise options - I'd love to get out and meet people so classes seem like the best bet, but I don't like a lot of the normal fitness classes. I need a dance or zumba class I think.

raisin3cookies · 06/09/2015 18:20

Lollipop, I'm American and am horrified at most of the food-like substances people consume in my homeland. :D The last time I went home to visit, I couldn't believe the portion sizes in restaurants, as well. Either my memory is skewed or plates have increased in the years I've been gone!

Is it vain to be excited about going to visit family and shopping for clothes 1-2 sizes smaller than in the UK? Hah.

Dyrne - congratulation on your mini goals! My husband recently bought some trousers without trying them on, and they fit him fine. Envy I bought a pair of jeans without trying them on and it resulted in tears and blue extremities. Not good.

Stellar67 · 07/09/2015 12:58

I have relatives in the US and I always am struck at how the car drinks holders seem to get bigger each time we go! In the SW I can understand. But I needed two hands to hold my juice!

I can't stop eating today. I am having one of those days. I stayed the same weightwise and I thought I did alright last week.

Right, I am off to brush my teeth and nip this nonsense in the bud.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 07/09/2015 18:17

I have made it into the 70s! was 78kg yesterday. My size 14s are now feeling a bit loose. Hurrah!

I am quite worried about our holiday to the USA though... we leave in 3 weeks. I wanted to be down to 75kg by then. Not sure if that's unrealistic, given how up and down I have been. Will have to try to find some self-control from somewhere.

raisin not vain at all! I am very much looking forward to buying some US size 10s or possible even 8s!

Hello Lollipop I'm thinking about dance or zumba too. Have you done it before? I'm quite uncoordinated though! And I only ever usually dance when drunk Blush
