So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

First weigh for a long long time. I usually like to be about 9 stone 3 and my max is only ever was 9 stone 8 but am 10 stone 3 (or 144) as my scales tell me.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 01/03/2015 08:49

Welcome headoverheels Smile

I ate more than I'd planned to at the dinner party last night. But didn't drink too much. Got a kiddy birthday party this afternoon for a family member. I'm going to aim to eat only 1 piece of birthday cake. No other party food or nibbles.......can I do it????

MarbleRunner · 01/03/2015 11:59

It seems like it's been a long week! I donned my new trainers for the first time today and did day one of C25k. Feeling really good about myself for doing what may have been the world's slowest gruntiest run. I am preparing for a lot of stiffness tomorrow, I hope I'll have enough mobility to step onto the scales.

BanburyBun · 01/03/2015 14:24

Hi, can I join please? 5'7" and 169lbs, would like to lose 21lbs ideally. I will be doing MFP to log food. Exercise will be walking to work and a mix of c25k and the shred. I have beach holidays to get ready for! My meals aren't too bad, it's the snacking between that is my problem, I work from home so it's too easy to dip into the biscuit tin etc.
started today with the shred, had forgotten how hard it is!

RunningKatie · 01/03/2015 15:43

Welcome Banbury!

I am so hungry this afternoon, we were out at lunchtime so I had a jacket potato and it's ages till dinner time Sad I've made a drink so hoping that will solve it.

fibromum · 01/03/2015 16:15

Weekend away was great but I didn't MFP anything as was too hard and really would just have been a guesse.

Well tomorrow morning is way in, will be happy if I am at least the same as last week but may be over given the ridiculous amoubt of stuff I ate Sad

March is full of birthdaysSad but on the plus side I have till the 14th till the next big do so need to behave till then, she says while eyeing up a tub if pringlesGrin

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 01/03/2015 16:24

I've done brilliantly this weekend in the sense that I haven't snacked at all at home. Just got to tackle the snacking at work next week. I've just made tomorrow's packed lunch which consists of crispbreads and Turkey, for snacking I have 25g of a chipotle seeds and roasted bean mix thing, carrots and cucumber. It's only 301 calories. :)

LetMeDriveTheBus · 01/03/2015 17:57

Argh! The answer to my question about whether I can manage not eating any other party food except cake is......NO! Blush

I've eaten an obscene amount Sad. So, no dinner tonight and back on track with redoubled efforts!

DakotaFanny · 01/03/2015 18:35

I had a big lunch bus so am just going to eat fruit for tea. Onwards and upwards. Hope it was a good party.x

Welcome Banbury.

We have lots of birthday too in march fibro. Real test of willpower

chocoshopoholic · 02/03/2015 06:54

Monday weigh in

Week 0 - 11st9
Week 1 - 11st8 - -1lb

Thought I deserved better, but it's a step in the right direction.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 02/03/2015 07:05

On the train with my super healthy packed lunch (didn't leave it in the fridge at home like I normally do!). I'm aiming to lose 2lb this week. Saturday's weigh in had be at 11st11lb. I'm confident I can do it. I had a good weekend and I did Davina 15 minute DVD last night but 2 sessions, cardio and arms, it worked me harder than the running, and I can feel it in my arms today. That's my aim 3 runs and 1 Davina session per week. I will be thin for summer!!! :)

fibromum · 02/03/2015 07:29

weighing in this morning.

week 0 - 9st 9
weeks 1 - 9st 8 Smile

1lb down and happy with that.

off to work but looking forward to seeung later everyones results.

Babbit · 02/03/2015 07:40

Weigh in: 149.2lbs. 4.7lb loss! I'm really pleased. Good luck everyone.

MarbleRunner · 02/03/2015 08:18

Morning ladies

Week 0: 11st 1
Week 1: 10st 10

Seems like all of this hard work is worth it.

Happy Monday!

ProcrastinateNoMore · 02/03/2015 09:41

Hello, can I tentatively join you today? I think I'm a couple of Mondays too late but I'll do my best to catch up!

Going to go and stand on the scales shortly... This week I'm not going to calorie count etc. but try and keep a food diary and also cut out crap. So three meals a day (apart from tomorrow night when DH and I are having a rare night out for his birthday - all bets are off :o) and only fruit for snacks / pudding.

mrsbrabbit · 02/03/2015 10:20

Week 0 10.1.6
Week 1 9.10.2

Was hard work definitely. Expecting loss to be lower this week but hoping to have time to incorporate some exercise this week.

squiddlydee · 02/03/2015 10:46

Can I join? I'm not sure what my action plan is - but I'll come up with something if I have a group of people to do it with! I think more exercise and less alcohol is my plan

10 and a half stone this morning.

YerTiz · 02/03/2015 10:59

I weighed myself again this morning (had a naughty step on the scales saturday):

Week 0: 142.8
Week1: 141.6

1lb lost, baby steps! Well done everyone and welcome ProcrastinateNoMore and squiddlydee.

Got a teethy baby today so will mostly be pottering but have nursery run (walk) and may take the boys for a walk in the woods later, baby in sling.

squiddlydee · 02/03/2015 12:15

If anyone is feeling in the mood to lend expertise - I'm not sure how much I've got to lose - can you check this thread and give me your thoughts. It has a picture so maybe best not at work! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/2321124-How-much-do-I-need-to-lose
Half a stone?

RunningKatie · 02/03/2015 12:23

Weighing in at 3lbs less today but then I got caught by the nice lady offering me a cheap hot cross bun in the cafe today so I'm already thinking today has gone a tad awry.

Feeling very surprised by it, I knew I was logging better but still haven't really exercised or stuck rigidly to the 1300 calories.

I imagine the loss will be less next week but also feeling quite determined, with my period being iminent I may yet hit the dark chocolate though.

Babbit · 02/03/2015 12:29

I think logging everything (and therefore weighing) is definitely the key. It removes the guesswork and mindless calorie intake.

Babbit · 02/03/2015 12:31

I have a fitbit and t started doing the Davina 7 inspired by another thread. I feel really good and have been sleeping better as well. Struggling to drink enough water and I have to keep reminding myself.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 02/03/2015 13:08

Some great losses. Well done all.

I stood on scales this am and I'm the same as Saturday, so hopefully the weekend won't have knocked me off course too much.

I've got 2 meals out this week so I've booked an extra exercise class tonight in the hope that'll balance things out.
