So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

Late check in! Weighed in this morning and scales said I had lost 7lbs! Seemed totally unrealistic (it was mostly dehydration I think), so I weighed myself fully clothed after work and have lost 4.5lbs so am really pleased, though stress played a part!! Am hoping for a calmer week at work so fingers crossed I will keep losing.

Well done to all and thanks for supporting this thread.
It has truly kept me motivated and on track!

Well done everyone, hoping I'll be able to report a loss next week as well :-)

Babbit I've just ordered Davina 7... How are you finding it?

YerTiz · 02/03/2015 20:18

Just logged into mfp and it told me I have 20,000 calories left today ShockGrin

In reality I have gone way over my much more meagre target (sausages for tea). Did an hours walk this afternoon though with 1 year old in the sling.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 02/03/2015 20:21

Finished at 1234 calories today... What a nice number! :). Having a packed lunch helped I think, do I need to make one for tomorrow. :) today was the first day I was below 30% fat on the nutrition bit of MFP.

headoverheels · 02/03/2015 20:28

Well done everyone, some great losses! My first day went well Smile

Peony58890 · 03/03/2015 00:21

I Like that! doing this is generally helping me think less about food even though I am calorie counting at the end of the day. Im sort of switching off from regular food browsing/nibbling and trying to eat more veg and protein. And being more organised food wise.

Why was that message deleted?

20, 000 calories Yer?! I need to change my settings to yours!

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 03/03/2015 19:45

Not such a good day today 1423 calories. :(
It's the bit of cake I had for a colleague's birthday, it tipped me over.

YerTiz · 03/03/2015 21:02

Quite a bad day for me today, lots of bread and pasta and not much exercise - was up with DS a lot in the night and I reach for sugar and carbs when tired Sad

On the positive side, I resisted cake and biscuits at my mum's house this afternoon Smile

Will go to bed soon and hopefully have a better day tomorrow.

RunningKatie · 03/03/2015 21:55

Same for me YerTiz, ds up in the night. I ordered him toast at playgroup and he didn't eat it so I did.

Also just had a glass of wine at book club so over calories today.

I am still eating better than I was a fortnight ago, nowhere near as bloated too so I feel better.

Onwardsandupwards2015 · 03/03/2015 23:17

Sorry to hear that everyone had a mixed day.

I came in at 12000 with no excersise today. But I have realised that it's far easier and much more effortless to come in at 12000 on days when I excersise.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 04/03/2015 06:44

Running I had book club last night too Grin.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 04/03/2015 07:15

12000? Am I missing something? I want to eat 12000!! Or are you talking number of steps rather than calories. :)

headoverheels · 04/03/2015 09:02

Good morning all! Good day for me yesterday - chicken and salad for lunch and fish, veg and plain yoghurt for supper. I'm not counting calories but focusing on sensible portion size, reducing carbs and cutting out snacks.

RunningKatie · 04/03/2015 10:56

Today is going better than the last two days, so am hoping I can stay on track.

It's a lovely day so we'll go for a walk this afternoon, good for my waistline and to get away from the endless requests for Frozen!

Onwardsandupwards2015 · 04/03/2015 11:43

Hi running, I'm counting calories which is a first.

Just had a lovely lunch. Roll mop with tons of rocket, cucumber, avocado, grated beetroot, seeds, french dressing. About 380 cals

Onwardsandupwards2015 · 04/03/2015 11:45

Rollmop herring that meant to say

YerTiz · 04/03/2015 19:21

Ah Running that's what I always do, finish the kids food. Have been strong today and not done it, and also left some of my dinner as I was feeling full.

Think this is a bit of a break through for me as I hate food waste but as I'm adjusting my portion sizes and trying not to be a human bin, stuff will have to go in the waste (if not saved for another day).

Anyone with these amazing filling but low cal veg and protein meals - could you share recipes?

YerTiz · 04/03/2015 19:23

Have never had rollmop herrings before

LetMeDriveTheBus · 04/03/2015 20:19

I've been doing a lentil and veg soup for lunch yer. Sounds boring but v is tasty as I saute the veg in a bit of butter. Only adds a few calories but makes the whole thing a million times more yummy. Plenty of seasoning too.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 04/03/2015 20:42

I've just had a cadbury's creme egg. :) and I've still
Only hit 1222 calories today! My first chocolate in a week and a half. It was lovely.

YerTiz · 04/03/2015 20:55

You're just showing off now FirstOfficer! Wink

Lentil and veg soup is a good idea.
