So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

Ate out at health food shop today- delicious and low cal- good!

Cycled 5 miles, walked 3 - good!

Generally had a lovely day- very good!

Out on the piss tomorrow- could be very, very bad!! Smile

Runnaway · 27/02/2015 22:45

1,182 today for me. Friday has felt strange - usually it is something of an feast usually!!!

Tons of work to do this weekend so lots of sitting.

Am going to go for a couple of walks though!

Happy weekend everyone - this is the danger zone for me. Hoping thinking of Monday's weigh in will keep me on track!

dakota just stick to vodka and soda. Have fun!!

Peony58890 · 27/02/2015 23:24

Ah so vodka is fine. G&t also. Is dry red/white wine all that bad?

RunningKatie · 28/02/2015 08:16

wine is bad, i was drinking it last night and we had an m&s meal deal. I still logged it on mfp, it wasn't a good number but pretending I didn't drink a lot of calories is just kidding it.

Today is the joy of a softplay party so I may do some climbing and sliding to burn calories Wink

Normally we'd have a curry tonight, but i'm off the wine again.

DakotaFanny · 28/02/2015 08:42

I've stayed the same....suspect I actually weighed more mid-week than when I last logged weight, so feel I nave lost some, just not much. Boo hiss, but nevermind. my head is back in the zone and I am having this!

Boo-yah fat body; next week I will see you and raise!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 28/02/2015 08:42

Weigh in for me today. 1 1/2 pounds off since monday. Bit disappointed it wasn't more but I'm hoping that'll keep me on the straight and narrow this weekend.

I'm taking gin and tonic to the dinner party tonight rather than wine.

Runnaway · 28/02/2015 11:43

Well done you two! Maintaining is better than gaining and 1.5 is really good.
I gave found today hard. Am very stressed with work and have realised I eat when stressed. E.g. Random packet of hula hoops for no reason. Don't remember really eating them! What a waste!

Am off out now to get away from the fridge and cupboards!!

OP posts:
RunningKatie · 28/02/2015 13:16

That's exactly what I do Runnaway, I just mindlessly inhale food when stressed or upset. I really need to tackle it.

Been out this morning, just had a coffee in the cafe, I did so fancy a bacon sarnie. I resisted, and also didn't eat the dc's leftover toast!

Maintaining is a good start and it isn't a gain. We can do this with each others support and determination.

My scales have arrived. I'm 11 stone 11 pounds :( (but at least that's less than my estimated 12 stone). I'm going to weigh myself weekly, but I don't want to get carried away and obsessed with weight.
My Davina DVD arrived but I'm couch to 5k ing today so it will have to wait until tomorrow. I also got little weights 1.5kg each to banish those bingo wings. Barely eaten a thing today due to being out and about, but already at 600 calories (I blame the coco pops I had for breakfast) :(

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 28/02/2015 18:35

Oh my golly look at this. It's a BMI calculator that shows you your body shape.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 28/02/2015 18:37

This is me apparently and sadly I don't think it's far off.

So, I'm changing my life on Monday...
YerTiz · 28/02/2015 19:07

Well done everyone maintaining/losing weight. I'd lost a pound this morning, hurrah! But then had fat american pancakes for breakfast.

Generally not eaten the best today (200 cals over) BUT not as bad as it could be. Met a friend for a cuppa and resisted cake. Got some dark choc from lidl so will have a square as a treat tonight. Also bought some more chamomile so I can have fewer milky teas!

Runnaway · 28/02/2015 19:40

Think I am currently embarking on the natural stress diet!! Feel too sick to eat any tea and have just walked fast for forty mins to try and burn off adrenalin!!! Not good!!! Hope to feel more chilled tomorrow. Not wanting to eat is actually awful!

Runnaway · 28/02/2015 19:41

first I went on that once! Never again!

Peony58890 · 28/02/2015 20:13

H gosh! I will go on the BMI calculator properly after my first weight in. Hopefully Sunday or Monday if I remember first thing.

I'm on exactly 649 which seems ridiculous considering I've had a hearty lunch and tea (although admittedly I only scoffed almonds on the hoof for breakfast). I ran again lunchtime and burned 700, which bought my total right down.

Planning a G&T tonight with more nuts. Pistachios or cashews
maybe? Must eat back some of my calories.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 28/02/2015 20:37

Finished eating for the day on 1291 - my best day yet (I think). I find I snack less at home whereas at work I snack often. Done my run too, week 1 done! :)

Well done everyone! I find coming on here and letting you all know is motivating me to keep going, so thank you.

DakotaFanny · 28/02/2015 20:38

Oh my god, first officer...that has motivation written all over it!! Thanks for sharing.

Peony58890 · 28/02/2015 20:45

Yes and a big thankyou from me too. I have never been this motivated ever! Part of it is down to the decluttering Marie kondo thread. I think if I have the motivation to spend 7 months severely decluttering my house, I can jolly well pick away at my weight and loose a stone!

zinher · 28/02/2015 21:03

Hiya, I need to lose about 25 lbs. am very sedentary and an stress eater. Have ordered some running shoes and clothes. Will start C25K on Monday. I have also lost a lot of weight in the past so I know I can do it.

RunningKatie · 28/02/2015 21:14

Have you started kondo'ing peony? I'm not on the thread but I've read the book and am planning to start properly once I've cleared stuff I'd already piled up as unwanted.

I think clearing unloved things is going to be quite therapeutic.

Had an unexpected pizza mid-afternoon, so boiled eggs for tea. Over again on calories but nowhere as bad as it used to be. Hopefully the weekly weigh in will be kind to me on Monday.

Peony58890 · 28/02/2015 21:46

Hi Running. I'm almost at the other end of the kondo process now. It's been totally life changing for me. I struggled with clutter/mess and was feeling that every day was like ground hog day, struggling with getting on top of things. But things are much easier now. We got rid of about 1/3 of our stuff and now all have capsule wardrobes, less furniture, less of the boys toys, less mess, a simpler life altogether.

I'm 1140 today

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 28/02/2015 21:52

Hi zinher. Good luck with the C25K, I've just completed week 1 and surprisingly I've enjoyed it.

zinher · 28/02/2015 22:55

The BMI calculator is spot on with my body shape. I have a BMI of 27

headoverheels · 01/03/2015 07:55

Hello all, can I join you? I'm going to my friend's 40th in 4 weeks time and I want to be able to fit into the dress I bought last month! I've put on lots of weight (over a stone) in the last year or so and it's time to do something about it. It's been a busy stressful year for various reasons, and I tend to 'reward' myself with food.

My main meals are fairly healthy I think - so if I can cut out the mindless snacking that should make a big difference. I'm going to focus on thinking 'do I really want / need this?' every time I open the cupboard or fridge.
