So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

I'm the same First. We've got a big family party Sunday which will involve a nice big lunch. But hopefully weighing in on Saturday will mean that won't have too much of an impact.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 01/05/2015 07:05

That's the idea... Worry about it next week ;)

LetMeDriveTheBus · 01/05/2015 18:37

I ate too many sweet treats at work today. Loads of cakes, stacked up on the table where I was eating lunch. I knew if I had one I'd have lots and lots. I was right!! I felt crap afterwards so it wasn't really worth it.

Oh well. Light dinner tonight and tomorrow is a fresh day.

Runnaway · 01/05/2015 20:00

I have made a big mistake of not doing enough shopping this week! So, Friday has come around and there is nothing to eat except fishfingers and that Aldi frozen rice stir fry. So a pretty weird tea!! I must plan next week to have something which feels a bit more like a treat on a Friday - even if it is just some lovely fruit. Tonight feels a little flat!!! I have realised how much I associate food with reward. Tough habit to break!!

Ooh I love fish fingers so that would count as a big treat for me! Grin

1 and 1/2 pounds off this week. So that's 12 pounds in total. Yayee!

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 02/05/2015 08:05

Awesome letme. I too am back on track!

Week 1 - ? No scales
Week 2 - 11stone11lb
Week 3 - 11stone7lb (-4)
Week 4 - 11stone4lb (-3)
Week 5 - 11stone2lb (-2)
Week 6 - 11stone2lb (-)
Week 7 - 10stone12lb (-4)
Week 8 - 10stone11lb (-1)
Week 9 - 10stone11lb (0)
Week 10 - 10stone12lb (+1lb)
Week 11 - 10stone7lb (-5lb)
Total loss 18lb

I very much doubt I've lost 5lb this week so maybe the 2 weeks before were I didn't lose and then gained were not accurate.

I'm only 7lbs to my target weight. Having said I put in 10stone 7lb into my BMI tracker and I'm still in the overweight band as we speak. Grrrrr.

Everyone at work has now been commenting and asking, I think my new clothes have helped because they're more fitted. :)

Keep going everyone. You all really inspire me and make me want to stick to this.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 02/05/2015 09:41

Brilliant First! Well done you. I really admire you sticking with it the past 2 weeks when the scales didn't reflect your effort.

I feel loads better for the weight I've lost. Am aiming for 140-146 pounds eventually so still got a way to go (I'm 163.5 now). But it feels achievable!

DakotaFanny · 02/05/2015 09:46

Well done guys! Good job.

I am down 4lbs this week. Like First, I can only presume that last weeks gain was a curveball since I haven't really done anything different this weeK.

That put me at 15lbs down, 20-25 to go, and well under the 13 stone mark. i am delighted.

Kids are with dgp today so off for a long bike ride with some lovely pint stops. Yum!

Have a good day all.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 02/05/2015 10:09

Yayee! So pleased for you Dakota! Well done for keeping with the plan. Have a lovely day out.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 02/05/2015 10:23

Brilliant news dakota. I do wonder what'll happen when I hit my goal. After all these weeks the biggest change for me is that I don't snack and graze anymore and I don't drink milk and lattes anymore. I can't imagine I'll go back to snacking. Because I've realised I don't need too and I understand now why and when I was doing it. But I don't want to be a yo yo dieter, so I expect I'll continue to use MFP but have more than 1270 calories allowance a day.

DakotaFanny · 02/05/2015 10:51

someone recommended upping your calories by 100 a week to find your maintenance point...seems like a really good plan to me.

Thanks guys. Smile

RunningKatie · 02/05/2015 15:23

Sorry I have been AWOL, dd was awful with chicken pox and then dh has been away since Monday.

Anyway, am back on it since May 1st. Got a wedding to go to at the beginning of July so a real target now.

Am just getting my eyes tested but will be back soon!

YerTiz · 02/05/2015 16:53

Some brilliant losses, well done!!

YerTiz · 04/05/2015 10:09

Another 1lb lost this week, have hit the half stone off mark now, slow and steady! Wink

LetMeDriveTheBus · 04/05/2015 10:12

Well done Yer!

RunningKatie · 04/05/2015 15:22

Great news Yer.

I've done a jog-ette today, only a walk/run but it is a start. And I have bought a triathlon suit courtest of Aldi.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 04/05/2015 15:43

What does a triathlon suit comprise off?

RunningKatie · 04/05/2015 15:54

It's a lycra all in one with a padded bottom for cycling and built in bra for running. The idea is not to change anything apart from shoes in transition from swim to cycle to run.

It does not look good on but it fits. I have 12 weeks to go Shock

LetMeDriveTheBus · 04/05/2015 16:16

Blimey! I never knew such a thing existed!

I am mega impressed at your triathlon plan.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 05/05/2015 18:27

I've starved myself today and not intentionally. At work all day without a single break except for the loo. I suppose on the upside I'll be able to pig out on whatever I want for dinner. But it's going to be at least 8pm by the time I get home. I'm sat, correct that STOOD, on a train with a rumbley belly! :(

LetMeDriveTheBus · 06/05/2015 20:41

Hope you got home at a reasonable time First. Sounds like a very full on day.

I'm slightly obsessed with avocado this week. So delicious and creamy!

We're away for a little holiday in 6 and 1/2 weeks time (just in the UK, nothing too exciting!). I'd love to lose another 7 pounds by then. That would take me down to 11 stone. Being 10 stone something would be AMAZING. I'd be over the moon!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 09/05/2015 06:56

Weigh in this morning. I've lost 3 and 1/2 pounds! Thrilled. That's 15 pounds since this thread begun. I'm 160 pounds now so need to lose another 14 to reach a healthy BMI. It feels achievable by my birthday (august).

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 09/05/2015 08:26

Yay letme that's fab news. You can reach your goal in time for August. Keep at it.

I've not lost anything this week. But I've not gained. :). I think I need to change methods a little, get back to the C25K. I'm losing motivation a bit now that it's almost in my grasp.

Week 1 - ? No scales
Week 2 - 11stone11lb
Week 3 - 11stone7lb (-4)
Week 4 - 11stone4lb (-3)
Week 5 - 11stone2lb (-2)
Week 6 - 11stone2lb (0)
Week 7 - 10stone12lb (-4)
Week 8 - 10stone11lb (-1)
Week 9 - 10stone11lb (0)
Week 10 - 10stone12lb (+1)
Week 11 - 10stone7lb (-5)
Week 12 - 10stone7lb (0)
Total loss 18lb

LetMeDriveTheBus · 09/05/2015 23:16

Thanks First Smile. Have had a nice dinner out with a friend tonight in celebration.

You've done brilliantly over the past 12 weeks. What's your goal? Where are you aiming for?

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 10/05/2015 07:17

My goal is 10stone... Or 9stone 13lb. ;) just to be able to say I'm 9stone something. So I'm not a million miles away. Probably another 4 weeks.
