So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

I blame the weather for my wobble. I want to be outside eating ice cream. ;)

Keep it up dakota... If still no results next week maybe you could try a different method. Have you tried the 5:2 I can't remember?

Hi all, bit late with my weigh-in. I did weigh myself Monday and I've put 1lb on, boo. Not surprising as with Easter, birthdays, illnesses etc I went back to bad habits.

Sooo, back on it now, back on mfp. What week are we on? Since we started I've lost 5lbs. Would still like to lose another 7lb at least.

Dakota you're doing everything right, keep going! And a triathlon running Shock you go girl! . Well done on all other losses.

Was thinking of starting c25k but read a prolapse thread on here yesterday and I'm scared now!!

Hello! I am still here, dd now has the pox and the poor love is covered. She's shattered as she's been up since 4am, I am very tempted to bung her in the buggy and take her for a walk to get her to sleep. I know I'm supposed to quarantine her but most people here work so it's unlikely we'd meet anyone.

Not eating so great but when I'm not being Florence Nightingale then I'm busy with housework & spring cleaning so I'm hoping that my lack of tri training thus far isn't too bad! Wink

I had a work dinner out last night. Guess where? An all you eat chinese restaurant!! It was impossible not to over eat when dish after dish was placed on the table in front of me!

Well, back on it today.

So glad that everyone is doing so well.

I have now managed to lose a stone since we started. I can now unbelievably run for an entire lap of my local park. It takes all I have not to vomit when I'm done but I cannot believe how much my life has changed since this thread started. I hadn't run since secondary school and that was far longer ago than I care to admit.

Thank you for letting me join and keeping me motivated.

Sorry I haven't posted for ages - I fell off the wagon somewhat in the Easter holidays! Back on it and have just weighed myself for the first time in a few weeks. I've gained 1lb (thought it would be worse tbh) and am keen to get losing again.

I'm surprised to be 2 pounds down. But have to admit I had a poo right before weigh in Blush. Apologies for the over-sharing but it probably made a difference!

Anyway, however it happened I'm 10 1/2 pounds down since we started.

I've put on. 1.3lbs on. Later, when I have stopped feeling sad I am going to post my figures for the last week and see if anyone can offer any ideas. For now, I am totally perplexed by the whole thing. i honestly don't think I'm cheating so just don't get it. A gain? How??

I have a Mirena coil fitted, so don't have periods. I don't know if this still means I have a cycle which would effect weight or not...though I stayed the same last week, so that can't be it anyway.

So, my TDEE is 2089 ( I am 39, 5 ft 6, 182 lbs). To lose 1 lb a week, MFP put me at a target of 1420 calories a day. I told it I was sedentary, so that my exercise would be added in as a bonus. i use Runkeeper and have a Fitbit, so these pieces of info all get added to MFP, which means that, by the end of the day, I have usually earned between 200 and 800 calories extra a day through exercise. Is this my issue??

Anyway, I also aim to walk 10,000 steps a day (which accounts for some of the calories 'earned' every day), and I am also doing the four 30 day challenges that I posted up thread. Ie; I move quite a lot and don't usually eat back the calories I have earned. Therefore, I should be losing a pound a week by calorie deficit of 3500 and then a bit more through exercise bonus calories, right??

Last week, my days looked like this

Saturday I consumed 2454 calories (bad start, I know). I burned 295 through exercise. In total then I was over target by 739....keep reading, it gets better!!

Sunday I consumed 1339, burned 857 through exercise. In total 938 under target (so Saturday should have been 'canceled out'.

Monday, consumed 1409, burned 285, total of 296 under target.

Tuesday, consumed 1383, burned 626, total of 663 under target.

wednesday, consumed 1422, burned 182, total of 180 under target.

Thursday, consumed 1427, burned 475' total of 468 under target.

friday, consumed 1478, burned 570, total of 512 under target.

in total, MFP wants me to eat 9940 calories a week, in order to lose 1 lb. this week I ate 10, 912....so 972 cals over....but I burnt a total of 3290. If you take those two bits of info together, I had a total calorie deficit/burn combo of 5818 calories, so should definitely have lost 1-1.5lbs. Does that make sense???

Food wise, the only things that might be imprecise AT ALL in my logging is milk in tea and coffee, but I can't see that that can account for more than about 50 calories a day, and is just as likely to be an undercalculation as an over calculation.
