So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

I was about to do a happy excited dance, with a 2lb loss, then realised that I forgot to weigh last week, so I've had to tone it down to a very predicable 1lb a week.

Week 0 - 11st9
Week 1 - 11st8 - -1lb
week 2 - 11st7 - -1lb (total 2lbs)
week 3 - 11st6 - -1lb (total 3lbs)
Week 4 - 11st5 - -1lb (total 4lbs)
Week 5 - oops, in pre holiday excitement I forgot to weight in!
Week 6 - 11st3 - -2lb (total 6lbs)

Struggled with the c25k this week as was away, so back to the middle of week 5 for me I think to have another go. I also think I'll have a go at the plank challenge

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 08/04/2015 14:32

Is it just me or does the plank challenge sound deceptively easy... What's the betting I won't even be able to do 10seconds! ;)

LetMeDriveTheBus · 08/04/2015 19:59

Well done choco.

Hi Alia.

Shall we all start a plank challenge then?? When? Tomorrow?

I've been eating like a piggy the past 5 days. It ends today!!!!

YerTiz · 08/04/2015 20:07

I'm up for the plank challenge! Just had a go and managed 20 seconds shaking

LetMeDriveTheBus · 08/04/2015 20:10

Right, I've just worked out that it's 17 and 1/2 weeks until I go on holiday. And it's also my birthday that week.

I am challenging myself to get to 150 pounds by then. That means losing 18 pounds.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 08/04/2015 20:10

I'm up for trying it. I'll start tomorrow. :)

chocoshopoholic · 08/04/2015 20:23

I started the plank challenge today. 20secs they said, easy I thought..... I stopped at 15s thinking my timer had stopped. Its longer & harder than I thought, but managed on the second go.

RunningKatie · 09/04/2015 08:51

Wuhoo, I am up for the plank challenge too.

Ds has chicken pox so we are stuck indoors, got to avoid mindless picking. I wonder if I can barricade the kitchen door!

DakotaFanny · 09/04/2015 09:51

Yes yes to plank challenge.

#getsoutofbedtolieonfloorfortwentysecondsinstead Wink

DakotaFanny · 09/04/2015 09:54

Done (smug!)

Have a good day y'all.x

YerTiz · 09/04/2015 10:15

Running my DS has chickenpox too, fun times eh? Wine

Thanks for plank reminder, had forgotten already Confused

LetMeDriveTheBus · 09/04/2015 10:24

My DS has chicken pox too!! He's been really poorly with it.

DakotaFanny · 09/04/2015 15:08

Love to all the chicken poxers....bad times!

You have inspired me ladies. Today I have begun the 30 day challenge in-

Planks, butt lift, slimmer thighs and arms - so 4 challenges. I can do that, right??? Seemed easy enough on day one- perhaps not by day 30 when it will probably take all day to complete!

Anyone interested in joining me? We can totally do it all together! Team power?

RunningKatie · 10/04/2015 11:36

20 second plank again today.

Commiserations to all the ds's with chicken pox. My ds is upset his sister has been taken out and he has to stay behind with me. It'll be her turn next!

I ate total rubbish yesterday, trying better today, pil have said when they get back from their trip with dd that they'll have the dc's for a bit so I can go out.

RunningKatie · 10/04/2015 11:38

That challenge sounds good Dakota! Where did i sign up????

LetMeDriveTheBus · 10/04/2015 14:19

My DD had it first Running and quite a mild dose. DS looks like a zombie baby/toddler, absolutely covered! Shame to be stuck inside on such a lovely day so it's good you'll be able to get out for a bit later.

I'm back on track with my eating but know the combined power out being on my period and 5 days of stuffing my face will mean a gain tomorrow Blush.

DakotaFanny · 10/04/2015 15:25

Here's one....sorry, I don't know how to do this any more efficiently!

So, I'm changing my life on Monday...
DakotaFanny · 10/04/2015 15:26

And another....

So, I'm changing my life on Monday...
DakotaFanny · 10/04/2015 15:28

And the final one.

All are available on pinterest if this doesn't help.

I have done them all again and, although they're only like 6 reps, I have to admit that I'm aching a teeny bit!!

Let me know if you're joining the 4x challenge!

So, I'm changing my life on Monday...
FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 10/04/2015 19:21

I haven't started the plank challenge yet. I have a stinky cold. :(

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 11/04/2015 08:23

Morning all. It's my weigh in today, and I'm very excited to say I have lost a stone since we started. So thank you all for your advice and encouragement. I have absolutely no idea how it's happened, it's been relatively pain free I think I must just have awesome will power because the only things I've cut out are lattes and crisps and I've massively cut down on chocolate and I missed them too much.

Week 1 - ? No scales
Week 2 - 11stone11lb
Week 3 - 11stone7lb (-4)
Week 4 - 11stone4lb (-3)
Week 5 - 11stone2lb (-2)
Week 6 - 11stone2lb (-)
Week 7 - 10stone12lb (-4)
Week 8 - 10stone11lb (-1)
Total loss 14lb.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 11/04/2015 08:24

Correction: I've not missed them too much.

DakotaFanny · 11/04/2015 09:10

Yaaayyy! Well done first!! You must be thrilled!

Weigh in for me too- one and a half down, meaning next week MIGHT be the stone mark- 12.4 lbs lost in total. Feel great, as this also takes me below the (sssshhhh!!!) 13 stone mark Blush Grin

LetMeDriveTheBus · 11/04/2015 10:15

Well done Dakota and Running! Fantastic achievements, both of you!

I'm 1/2 pound up which I feel relieved about, having eaten far far too much this week. My resolve is back and I'm ON IT! I want a pound a week loss for the next 17 weeks. That's my aim.

DakotaFanny · 11/04/2015 11:14

Do you go on holiday then bus? I do, and have had exactly the same thought....be happy with one a week, dream of two. With two a week, I'd be some sort of Spanish babe.....Grin
