So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

I bet spam is high in calories Wink

Been to my hulahoop class again, I need to figure out how many calories it is for mfp. However, even if it's none then I still spend most of the class like this: Grin so it's good.

Been back to tracking honestly on mfp too, we had a freezer defrosting ooops so had to cook loads of meals up last night. The bonus of doing this was they are all healthy and it saves me lots of time each evening.

All runners I have a new injury help!
Remember my shins how could forget I whinged about them enough? Well they're all better but now the back of my heels hurt but only when I walk not when I'm just stood on them... Does that make sense? Is this a common running thing?

Ta! Went over my calories yesterday due to a box of ferrerro rocher given to us by a patient.

RunningKatie · 25/03/2015 10:26

Is it a shooting pain First? Does it happen when you first stand from lying or sitting?

Are you stretching lots? Some yoga or pilates might help.

I was under calories yesterday, first time in ages! I've already done a walk this morning so feeling quite chirpy.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 25/03/2015 12:57

Hullo all.

Have looked up the place we're eating at tonight and it's got a "light" menu. So I'm hoping to channel major will power and order from that.

Yes kind of. It gets better throughout the day and is at its worse in the morning. It's only when walking, not when standing still.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 25/03/2015 13:52

All this exercise is supposed to be good for me, I reckon I must have awful running technique. I don't run in a bouncy fashion (the lady on the podcast said if you were running beside a hedge, people shouldn't be able to see your head bobbing up, so I don't run in a bouncy way iyswim).

RunningKatie · 25/03/2015 21:58

Are you doing RICE? Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevation.

I used to have a trail of deep heat following me around, and deep freeze is blissful too.

Have had some cheese and crackers this evening. Yum.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 26/03/2015 07:05

I'm not really doing the i-c-e part because it doesn't feel like an injury in a whoops there goes my muscle/ligament kind of way. The discomfort is the following days. But maybe I should. Off to google because I'm not entirely sure how to do the compression bit.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 26/03/2015 07:06

PS ooohh cheeses and crackers yum... Love a bit of red Leicester me with Branston pickle!

RunningKatie · 26/03/2015 09:55

I have injuries too, my hula hoop has bruised the back of my hand and my knees from attempting tricks.

Still loving it though!

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 26/03/2015 10:04

:)

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 26/03/2015 21:47

just done an exercise DVD and oh my will I feel it tomorrow! :(
Off out to fancy dinner tomorrow. So doubt weigh in on Saturday is going to be good.

This calorie programme on bbc is interesting... I think I'm going to have to start eating soup!

RunningKatie · 27/03/2015 10:41

I recorded the calorie programme, need to watch it when dh isn't in the room.

Feeling like this week is going well, now I know that I need to stay on track this weekend rather than go wine crazy.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 27/03/2015 12:56

I'm watching it right now while the kiddies are napping faffing about in bed.

I've been trying 16:8 diet the past few days. It just means eating in an 8 hour window of time, so basically not having breakfast or mid-morning snack. Weirdly, I've been no more hungry by lunchtime than I usually am. And I am a stickler for a slow energy release breakfast like porridge. Strange Confused.

We'll see what the scales say tomorrow. Think it's just a case of you eat less calories over the week if you limit the time. I'll obviously still need to eat sensibly and healthily within the time window.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 28/03/2015 08:31

Morning all. It's my weigh in today.

Very sad this week - nothing lost but on the bright side nothing gained.

Week 1 - ? No scales
Week 2 - 11stone11lb
Week 3 - 11stone7lb (-4)
Week 4 - 11stone4lb (-3)
Week 5 - 11stone2lb (-2)
Week 6 - 11stone2lb (-)
Total loss 9lb.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 28/03/2015 10:23

1 pound off here so that's 7 pounds in total.

First, don't be sad. You're doing really well. This business of changing our lives is a long game.

DakotaFanny · 28/03/2015 17:02

Nothing for me this week either....

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 28/03/2015 21:26

Ah well eh?! Never mind. We are still on a downward trend. :)

DakotaFanny · 28/03/2015 22:26
Smile
DakotaFanny · 28/03/2015 22:27

This time next week...

YerTiz · 29/03/2015 09:19

1 pound lost for me this week (technically meant to weigh in tomorrow but it's a family birthday so I may forget).

Next couple of weeks will be tricky as I have 3 birthdays plus easter to contend with Confused

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 29/03/2015 09:20

Indeed. I WILL be 10stone something by Saturday. :)

LetMeDriveTheBus · 29/03/2015 09:23

Well done Yer.
