So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

You're doing brilliantly First and LetMe!

Not looking forward to my Monday weigh in, I've had a lot of bread and wine today!

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 21/03/2015 20:22

:)

Thank you yertiz I don't drink alcohol at all but bread is a definite weakness of mine. I craved bread and olives and hummus today but I was strong and did not cave. I have been known to eat an entire French stick before Blush.

Good luck everyone, I think most of you weigh in on Sunday or Monday!

MarbleRunner · 21/03/2015 22:15

Oh no just home from work. Beer has been drunk, big cookies eaten on the train and waiting for curry to be delivered. Feeling bad and excited at the same time.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 22/03/2015 14:58

Thanks yer. It's coming off slower than I was hoping but I have had lots of dinners out/birthdays etc to factor in.

Mmmm cookies marble!

DakotaFanny · 22/03/2015 18:52

Four pounds off for me- but bear in mind; new diet and I put on three last week.

Still, I'll take that! 10.5 lbs down since January. A quarter of the way there.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 22/03/2015 19:29

Wow Dakota! Well done! How did you find sticking to the fast days?

DakotaFanny · 22/03/2015 19:43

They were fine, surprisingly. Both were busy days, which helped, but I actually enjoyed feeling in control. I almost went for a third day on Friday, but by the afternoon I could hear the wine bottle calling!!!

Can't say I'm looking forwards to tomorrow, after a bit of a piggy weekend, but will be interested to see loss next week.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 22/03/2015 19:51

That's awesome dakota... Well done!

YerTiz · 23/03/2015 10:14

Well done Dakota! You've lost in a week what it's taken me 4 weeks to lose (another pound lost this week)! Still I'm pleased I'm getting there, albeit slowly.

Feeling quite blue today as we went for a last visit to DHs grandfather last night, they expect him to pass away in the next day or so. Held it together last night but now I'm on my own with DS I'm feeling very sad Sad

LetMeDriveTheBus · 23/03/2015 10:36

Well done on the pound off yer. But I'm very sorry about DH's grandfather Flowers.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 23/03/2015 13:35

Oh dear yertiz. I'm sorry to hear about your DH's grandfather. Flowers

RunningKatie · 23/03/2015 13:39

Sorry to have been missing in action.

I've not been doing well, I've lapsed with mfp and not posted on here. Unsurprisingly the scales showed no loss.

I don't really know what I can do. I want to lose weight, I need to lose weight and yet I am a complete muppet and eat too much at any sign of stress.

So, this week I am back to drinking more water, logging my meals and increasing my exercise.

YerTiz · 23/03/2015 15:40

Thank you Flowers

Today I have wallowed with cheese toasties and crisps Confused

YerTiz · 23/03/2015 16:12

Running I've been similar, started off with best intentions but good habits are slipping now!

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 23/03/2015 18:14

I've missed you running. You can get back on track. Keep posting! :)

DakotaFanny · 23/03/2015 18:22

Flowers Yertiz.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 23/03/2015 18:39

Good to see you Running.

chocoshopoholic · 23/03/2015 19:55

So no prizes to see my weigh in this week, slow and steady is going to have to do.

Week 0 - 11st9
Week 1 - 11st8 - -1lb
week 2 - 11st7 - -1lb (total 2lbs)
week 3 - 11st6 - -1lb (total 3lbs)
Week 4 - 11st5 - -1lb (total 4lbs)

LetMeDriveTheBus · 23/03/2015 21:43

Well done choco.

Those counting calories, how many are you aiming for a day?

YerTiz · 23/03/2015 22:20

My target is about 1200 calories a day. I don't allow more for any exercise but likewise I give myself days where I'm more relaxed about it.

I'm trying to think what I can sustain in the longterm so don't want to make it too painful!

chocoshopoholic · 24/03/2015 06:52

I'm aiming for 1150, plus allowing myself to eat half of what I earn on c25k days.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 24/03/2015 07:05

My aim is 1270cal. If I do c25k I do allow for it and allow myself to eat more. I find the calorie counting relatively straight forward if I'm honest, but the main difference I've made is that I no longer snack on chocolate and crisps and I don't have lattes anymore except for an ultra special treat on a Friday morning. I've massively cut down how much bread I eat.
I'm down 9lbs and I can now tell, my waist is beginning to come back. Also though rather sadly I'm losing it from the boobs (and I didn't have much there to start with).

Well done on the losses. -1lb a week is great choco they say slow and steady is the way to go and you're more likely to keep it off.

headoverheels · 24/03/2015 07:22

I lost 1lb this week Smile. I went running twice, maybe that helped.

Week 0 - 13st 10lb
Week 1 - 13st 9lb
Week 2 - 13st 7lb
Week 3 - 13st 6lb

Hang in there Running. A week of no loss is fine as long as you get back on it!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 24/03/2015 13:38

Hmm, maybe I need to scale my calories back a bit. Perhaps I'll try that this week. Got dinner out on thurs but no other social events this week.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 24/03/2015 13:39

And well done head.
