So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

I have found this week tough too, and I'm only in week 2! But I went for a run yesterday, and feeling reasonably hopeful for a loss when I weigh in.

YerTiz · 14/03/2015 17:02

This last week was hard wasn't it! But what do they say - it takes 5 weeks to form new habits?

I'm meant to weigh in on Monday but I did step on the scales this morning and I'm on track to stay at 10 stone (although, we have had friends round for lunch and DH has bought pastries for breakfast tomorrow...).

I have noticed I'm feeling satisfied on much smaller portions now so I'm hoping I can keep that up. Need to get back on the exercise next week!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 14/03/2015 19:22

That's good you're noticing a change in your appetite Yer.

I've noticed I'm much less preoccupied with food. When I'm eating rubbish I seem to always be looking for the next "hit" of sugar/fat/carbs. It's a relief not be to so obsessed.

YerTiz · 14/03/2015 22:51

It's a vicious cycle isn't it LetMeDrive, the more crap we eat the more we want. I'm amazed really that I've managed to stick to smaller amounts e.g. I had some pudding when friends were round today but just a little was enough, I would normally lose all self control and scoff loads!

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 15/03/2015 06:54

I went out yesterday and went 210 calories over :(
And today I'm being taken out for a mothers day lunch. It's going to be a naughty weekend.

Well done on the losses, but don't panic if there's been a gain, there's always next week! :)

LetMeDriveTheBus · 15/03/2015 16:07

Well I'm going to be loads over today due to yummy roast, wine, pud and mother's day chocs. But I won't be worrying too much as I'll be back on track tomorrow.

I'm still on my period (apologies if TMI) so hopefully that'll do one as I think that's why I only had a v small loss this week.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 15/03/2015 18:32

Massively over today. :(
As well it's not Mother's Day every day is it?

RunningKatie · 15/03/2015 19:35

Would someone wheel in a wagon please? i appear to have fallen off mine.

Got a horrible lurgy and feel terrible so have eaten rubbish and barely moved from the sofa.

I have found a hula hooping class in town so I hope to be rejunvenated for Wednesday so I can go along. I love my hula hoop!

Weigh in tomorrow. I know it will not be good, I maintained last week so I already knew I needed to focus more on this.

2 weeks till posh dress needs to fit. Sad

Every Monday I think of this thread! After eating my body weight in chocolate I really need to stop stuffing my gob.

Have signed up to myfitnesspal . Will start logging from tnrw.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 15/03/2015 20:08

Did you say wagon wheels Running???

RunningKatie · 15/03/2015 21:17

thankfully i don't like actual wagon wheels! There are few chocolate bars I don't like, hence my child-bearing hips Wink

i am having another glass of wine though whilst watching Poldark and cursing sewing blanket stitch.

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day. I found it hard to stay on the straight and narrow yesterday. Though I do find Weight Watchers quite flexible.

Week 0: 11st1
Week 1: 10st10
Week 2 10st 8
Week 3: 10st 6

I was chuffed when one of the school mums noticed I had lost weight last week. Thank you tof keeping me motivated as I have usually given up long before this point (normally after about 4 days!).

LetMeDriveTheBus · 16/03/2015 12:01

Week 0: 175.5
Week 1: 174
Week 2: 171
Week 3: 170.5

I've got 4 weeks of mat leave left and I'd love to lose 6 or 7 pounds in that time.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 16/03/2015 12:02

Well done marble.

MarbleRunner · 16/03/2015 12:07

Thanks. You too LetMeDrive!

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 16/03/2015 14:01

Well done on the losses everyone. I think we are all beginning to find it hard.

I need to run tonight and I really don't feel like it :( but drag my arse outside I will... Sigh!

chocoshopoholic · 16/03/2015 18:43

Week 0 - 11st9
Week 1 - 11st8 - -1lb
week 2 - 11st7 - -1lb (total 2lbs)
week 3 - 11st6 - -1lb (total 3lbs)

This week I have weighed / scanned everything that has passed my lips and been under the mfp target everyday. Mfp is set to 1100 + those earnt through c25k week 4. Its still better than the increase I have had since Christmas though.

DakotaFanny · 16/03/2015 20:23

First day of 5:2 today. A very busy day so not too difficult. Porridge oats with water have never tasted so good as the ones I have just eaten.

I ordered myself a dress today- two sizes too small. Yes, I have become THAT woman! Damn it, it will fit me by Summer!! T'is lurrvely!

headoverheels · 17/03/2015 06:46

Well done everyone - keep going!

I lost 2lb this week! That's 3lb in total Smile

Week 0 - 192
Week 1 - 191
Week 2 - 189

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 17/03/2015 08:30

So after initial problems with shins I've started week 3 proper of couch 2 5k. It was easy peasy. The rest was a good thing then. No shin issues.
DH pulled my wellies off for me this morning and commented they were easier to pull off (do you think my calves have begun to shrink? - hopeful).

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 17/03/2015 08:31

PS I've also ordered myself some new running gear! ;) in a medium - hope I can squeeze myself into it! I'm sure you'll get into that dress dakota!

RunningKatie · 17/03/2015 12:41

You are making me want to run again First and I'd pretty much decided it wasn't going to happen!

I am off to a hula hoop class tonight, I used to really enjoy them so going to give a new class a try. I hate walking into classes and finding somewhere to park etc. I start to find excuses not to go.

Trying to be more determined this week but it's a tricky week so far.

Thinking positive thoughts for Dakota's dress, First's new running gear and my jeans in a size smaller. It can be done!
