So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

Arrrrggghhh am having a bad day. DH bought one of those 5 packs of choc chip cookies and I could not resist. It was lovely though. So I did not eat tea to even it out and now am starving. My best week was the one where I meal planned. I clearly do not do free reign!!! Ah well, tomorrow is a new day.

Good luck today, extreme will power will be required says I eating a Mars bar on a train platform for breakfast. It's going to be crazy today and I forgot my packed lunch in the fridge.

RunningKatie · 11/03/2015 13:37

Enjoy the mars bar First! How are your shins?

Dh made a lovely lasagne yesterday, the dc didn't eat it so I ate both their portions. Not huge ones as I knew there was a big chance they wouldn't eat it.

Done a big walk again today so feeling quite positive about increasing exercise. My heel isn't hurting even though I carried youngest dc in a sling for a while too.

2.5 weeks till I need to fit into a smart outfit, I'm not sure how do-able it is.

YerTiz · 11/03/2015 15:39

Mmm cookies, mars bars, lasagne

Feeling a bit more human today though still in the house of snot. Have done ok with food (when all I want to do is eat mounds of buttery toast) but no exercise. But have had a bit of a cleaning frenzy this morning, maybe that counts...?!

Going to do a lamb tagine for dinner which we haven't had for ages so it will feel like a nice treat and not tooooo bad calorie wise.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 11/03/2015 15:52

:) I had a healthy lunch to make up for the appalling breakfast.
I'm thinking of trying running tonight. I was supposed to go yesterday but I could still feel the shins iyswim, whereas today I haven't noticed them. I do have housework to do though before our weekend visitors arrive. Why are there not enough hours in the day? :(

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 11/03/2015 21:41

I didn't run. And MyFitnessPal says I'm not eating enough (despite the Mars bar). :(

DakotaFanny · 12/03/2015 07:15

This week sucks....t'is official.

Am with you on the planning Runnaway. Must do a Tesco shop online over the weekend and be prepared for next week.

Feeling a bit of a failure. Blush

LetMeDriveTheBus · 12/03/2015 07:49

Don't be so hard on yourself Dakota. You're having a bad few days. That doesn't have to mean a bad week or failure. Flowers

I've got my period and feel very bloated. Does that usually affected weight? I've been either pregnant or breastfeeding for ages and can't really remember!

headoverheels · 12/03/2015 07:54

RunningKatie I've also got 2.5 weeks until I need to fit into a smart outfit (for my friend's 40th) - eek!

LetMe I always put on a couple of pounds just before my period arrives, presumably water retention.

Hang in there Dakota Flowers

RunningKatie · 12/03/2015 12:24

dakota - keep posting here, you aren't a failure. Planning does help but so does having determination. I do an online shop and meal plan but i still have a magnetic attraction to chocolate.

I keep saying I need to exercise more and I really do, I need to plan that in too.

What are you wearing to the 40th headoverheels? I'm going to a christening so it's a dress that i last wore when I was about a stone lighter.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 12/03/2015 14:01

I think we are all having a bad week - I'm managing to stay under calories but I'm eating crap, and have done virtually no exercise. :(

Let's all keep posting and try to get our dieting mojo back. :)

squiddlydee · 12/03/2015 14:10

How are your shins today FirstOfficer ? I've just got back from my run and I'm sitting and sweating at my desk. Will shower after work when I've picked the dc up. I'm hoping my legs will get some spring back into them at some point - I used to run a lot but gave up a few years ago due to injury. Contemplating a banana though that's heresy in low carb land.

squiddlydee · 12/03/2015 14:11

Maybe a sugar free jelly instead :)

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 12/03/2015 14:14

:)
I'm going to try and run today but going to do another week 2 run rather than move on to week 3. I don't want to over do it but at the same time I want to get back into the swing of it else I won't get the benefit of doing the 3 runs per week.

DakotaFanny · 12/03/2015 17:38

Awww thanks guys! Flowers

I'm going to get through tomorrow, weigh in on Saturday, sigh and move on.

Who's in for a 100% success week next week? We can reward ourselves with virtual chocolate. X

DakotaFanny · 13/03/2015 11:57

Is anyone here 5;2 ing? Am wondering about a change...

RunningKatie · 13/03/2015 13:38

First - that sounds really sensible, take it steady and you'll be fine.

Dakota - virtual chocolate sounds good to me, or maybe some daffodils to cheer up the house.

I'm still faffing about, had way too much toast today and we are going out for dinner tonight. Dh is having a bad time at work, my response to stress is to eat Sad

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 13/03/2015 14:26

No I can't bear the thought of 5:2ing. I'm going to stuck with just eating less than usual every day whilst aiming for the 1270. It's weigh in tomorrow. I'm not expecting much if in being honest. :(

Runnaway · 13/03/2015 17:48

The third week must be the toughest! I have struggled too!
Am not eating masses, but just drifting towards mindless eating again.
I has tempted to stop posting and give up. But having read all your posts I feel I can't quit and I can do it. So, thanks for the support.

I have just clicked on a thread about cream teas!!! Torture!!!!

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 13/03/2015 19:46

Week 3 has definitely been hard for me and I've eaten badly and not exercised but I have stayed under my calories for the most part so we will see. Tomorrow will be weigh in. And week 4 will hopefully be better! :)

LetMeDriveTheBus · 14/03/2015 07:57

Keep going Runnaway. We CAN change our lives and feel good for summer.

Weigh in for me this morning. 1/2 pound off. I was hoping for better as I've kept within my mfp calorie limits. It makes me want to stuff my face and say "fuck it!" But I'm resisting........

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 14/03/2015 08:49

3lb off for me. Now 11stone4lb. I don't know how although twice this week MFP dos say I wasn't eating enough so it might have been those 2 days. Just did week 3 run 1 and my shins are okay. :)

DakotaFanny · 14/03/2015 10:08

Feeling a bit more positive today. Van load of tasty goodness coming from Tesco this afternoon, big walk with my mum planned late morning, going to incorporate 5:2 this week as well and feel positive about that = good good good.

Put ON three pounds = bad bad bad
