So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

Enjoy the spa! And enjoy the afternoon tea. We all deserve a treat every now and then. :)

Did badly today. I think the 4lb weight loss went to my head. 1420 calories today. I'm supposed to be under 1270, but having said that I still don't feel too bad so long as it stays under 1500.

Runnaway · 08/03/2015 09:20

Well done!!Grin

Week 2 run 3 about to start. It's raining. Running in the rain. :(

LetMeDriveTheBus · 08/03/2015 19:23

Hope the afternoon tea was good Running.

We've had prosecco, scones, clotted cream and birthday cake this afternoon but I was very restrained and only had 1 scone! That, combined with a lovely boozy dinner out last night, means I'll need to make up for the weekend's indulgence this week!!

First, running in the rain?! Shock Very impressed!

YerTiz · 08/03/2015 19:33

Oh jealous on the afternoon teas! Have had a rubbish weekend as we've all caught a cold, feel blurgh. Have been reaching for the comfort food but have kept my portions small at least. Don't think I'll be doing much exercise this week though!

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 08/03/2015 20:06

I am currently sat here with frozen sweetcorn on one leg and frozen peas on the other. The inside of my lower legs to the side of my shins is killing. :(

DH is googling and reckons shin splints because I'm a beginner runner. And he's googling warm ups to prevent it. It bloody hurts but I kept running through it, probably shouldn't have. :(

Ah well. I'm sure I'll recover in time for Tuesday's week 3 run 1.

Did not so good food wise because we went to wagamamas. 1438.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 08/03/2015 20:07

yertiz colds and flu are doing the rounds. Hope you're feeling better soon. Keep those fluid levels up.

RunningKatie · 08/03/2015 20:26

Oh First, I did think you might be at risk of shin splints the other day. Bit of rest and then stretch those calf muscles and you'll be fine.

Spa was good, afternoon tea was good. Weigh in tomorrow, I think I've gained but it's time of the month so that's one excuse, the real reason is eating too much of course Sad

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 08/03/2015 21:00

DH has been googling since I came back and I've had a lecture on warming up. :)

YerTiz · 08/03/2015 21:07

Thanks first, sorry to hear about your shins, sounds sore!

Weigh in for me too tomorrow running, fingers crossed eh.

headoverheels · 09/03/2015 07:18

First week weigh in and I've lost 1lb. Was hoping for more but at least it's a step in the right direction!

Hope you feel better soon Yer, and your shins are less painful today First. And good luck everyone weighing in today!

Babbit · 09/03/2015 07:48

Weigh in: 148.4
Loss: 1lb
Total loss: 5.5 lb
Had a heavy weekend after a good week.

God luck everyone

RunningKatie · 09/03/2015 08:07

Weigh-in - stayed the same.

Bit lucky really, I expected a gain as despite logging on mfp I was regularly eating over my allocation and doing very little exercise.

So, back to it with renewed determination, coasting along staying the same is not an option.

fibromum · 09/03/2015 08:49

I haven't been good this week food wise or keeping track but have weighed myself this morning.

9st 8 the same as last week so while not great at least I haven't gained.

Hope to be more active this week.

squiddlydee · 09/03/2015 09:10

Am actually amazed at my first week. I'm doing low carbs and more running.

Week 1 66.7 kg
Week 2 63.6 kg

Very much doubt I'll manage anything like that in the next week.

YerTiz · 09/03/2015 09:41

Week 0: 142.8
Week 1: 141.6
Week 2: 140.2

Happy with 1lb a week so far! I think this week will be a challenge depending on how quickly I can get over this cold. Going to try and look after myself though and if I can just maintain my losses I'll be happy.

Still feel motivated by this thread and seeing everyone's progress, thank you Flowers

MarbleRunner · 09/03/2015 11:55

Hello ladies
Everyone is doing so well. Hope your shins are feeling better. Yesterday I completed week one of C25K. Feeling really motivated.

Week 0: 11st1
Week 1: 10st10
Week 2 10st 8

Keep up the good work.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 09/03/2015 12:03

Well done on the losses Smile

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 09/03/2015 16:30

There's some great losses... And to those who haven't lost much, there's always next week! :)
My shins are okay, but I can feel them iyswim - I think if I ran again today (I won't) they'd pretty much hurt straight away. :(

Runnaway · 09/03/2015 18:08

I gained 2lbs!! Whoops! Back tracking usong MFP today. I am still lighter than two weeks ago though so am happy with that! Think first week's huge loss was unrealistic and this has evened it out! Onwards and upwards or downwards (scales -wise) hopefully!

Well done for all the losses!

chocoshopoholic · 09/03/2015 18:22

Monday weigh in
Week 0 - 11st9
Week 1 - 11st8 - -1lb
week 2 - 11st7 - -1lb

in the right direction but disappointed again. Been under mfp target everyday this week.

DakotaFanny · 10/03/2015 10:14

Struggling so far this week....someone kick me ip the arse please!

Have spent the morning googling skinny summer clothes and dreaming, but the back of my mind is filled with thoughts of what I'll eat for lunch if I can last that long

The crisps are calling.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 10/03/2015 12:18

Well done choc. I know it's annoying when it doesn't fall off quicker. I feel the same but I suppose we've got to keep in mind it probably went on fairly gradually too.

For those who haven't had the best week, I think it's a good achievement to be still logging back into this thread and I'm sure this week will be better.

RunningKatie · 10/03/2015 12:46

I'm trying to take my own advice and log meals onto mfp before I eat them, I kid myself that I can have treats because i've not logged my evening meal and then I end up over.

So, just logged lunch and dinner, and that's practically my day sorted.

Will see if this approach works.

I too am dreaming of summer clothes. I'd really like a maxi dress but only if it can't be mistaken for a maternity dress due to my wobbly tum.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 10/03/2015 18:33

I've had such a busy day at work I've barely eaten. I'm hungry - you wouldn't believe how hard it was to walk past McDonald's at the station. :(
I've got such a busy week this week that I expect I will lose weight but maybe not as much as last week because my shins aren't up to running tonight.
