So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

I use the hairy dieters first cook book loads for recipe ideas.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 04/03/2015 21:14

I know!! :)
As someone who normally eats chocolate every day I've missed it... It was soooo nice!

Ooooooooh · 04/03/2015 22:32

Yertis - if you like pickled stuff and fish, rollmop herrings are great!

RunningKatie · 05/03/2015 13:47

Creme eggs, I have chocolate envy!!! We have loads of cheap chocolate leftover from Christmas and dh pointed out it will be Easter soon.

I'm not feeling the healthy eating love at the moment, am pms'ing so usually craving dark chocolate. Not had a good nights sleep in a while so that never helps, the dc's were up at 5.30 today Sad

I fancy a curry tonight, so may try and get the ingredients out to make a healthy one.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 05/03/2015 14:02

I have to share!!!

One of my colleagues who I haven't seen in 2 weeks has just asked me if I've lost weight? :). I've not in terms of lbs (although I'm not weighing until Saturday). And I've not told anyone in dieting. So I must be beginning to look a little different. He said my face looked thinner though, which isn't really where I want to look thin.

But either way someone has noticed a change in my appearance weight wise, so that must be good. :)

RunningKatie · 05/03/2015 14:47

That is lovely First, did you give them a delighted smile Grin Grin Grin

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 05/03/2015 15:06

Yes and then blushed. I'm a blusher unfortunately. Blush

DakotaFanny · 05/03/2015 16:29

Ah, well done First Officer. X

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 05/03/2015 17:09

Thank you. I'm ridiculously pleased about it. That's quite sad isn't it?
Off for week 2 run 2 when DH gets home. Hopefully will get it done before the sewing bee.

RunningKatie · 05/03/2015 19:10

Not sad at all, compliments are lovely especially when unexpected. And you are working hard so you deserve it. Smile

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 05/03/2015 20:32

My shins hurt! :(
1222 calories today.

Well done everyone!

headoverheels · 06/03/2015 07:39

FirstOfficer that made me smile Smile

Bad day yesterday. I did a sneaky mid week weigh in yesterday morning and was really pleased. Somehow this gave me an excuse to eat loads of crap. So cross with myself Angry Back on it today!

YerTiz · 06/03/2015 10:09

headoverheels I did exactly the same! Cheeky weigh in, all good, then had bacon sandwiches for lunch and an almond cake in the afternoon!

Had a good breakie today and going to do shred now while DS2 naps.

YerTiz · 06/03/2015 10:12

Ooooooooh I do like pickled stuff and I do like fish, but I googled rollmop herring and did this face: Envy

RunningKatie · 06/03/2015 11:03

I did a sneaky weigh-in too and am unchanged, I got a bit complacent after last week. Really need to do some exercise.

Got a beef and tomato casserole in the slow cooker for tonight. Feeling quite pleased as it should be reasonably healthy and a good start to the weekend. If I can stay on track today then I will have a glass of wine with it.

RunningKatie · 06/03/2015 11:05

Ps. First - if your shins hurt then stretch, stretch, stretch. It will help.

Famous last words from me who ran on when my foot hurt and hasn't been able to run for 7 months now.....

Ooooooooh · 06/03/2015 11:33

Also check your trainers for wear

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 06/03/2015 14:12

Trainers are new so I don't think it's wear... It's probably just my legs saying 'oih you have not run on me for years and years and I don't like it, stop this nonsense immediately' - I will do a better stretch tomorrow though.

I had a cheeky brioche roll with butter for breakfast from my local coffee shop this morning which although delicious left me feeling guilty. It's Davina DVD night tonight, I've got the 15 minute one and will probably only bother with the arms bit because I'm feeling rebellious and I really don't want to do the cardio. It's weigh in tomorrow. Fingers crossed I've lost something. :) was 11st11lb last Saturday.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 06/03/2015 14:27

Ummm brioche sounds yummy!

It's my weigh in tomorrow as I have dinner and drinks out tomorrow evening and then my DC2 first birthday sunday so cake eating will be compulsory!

I'm feeling very motivated at the moment so hopefully I'll be spurred on by a decent loss in the morning.

Runnaway · 06/03/2015 17:34

Happy Weekend all. I have not tracked calories this week. Must start again tomorrow - have eaten about the same, but tracking really helps.

3 pounds off!! Grin I'm really pleased.

DakotaFanny · 07/03/2015 08:59

Two and a half off for me. Woooooooooooo!! X

YerTiz · 07/03/2015 09:11

Need a thumbs up emoji! Well done both.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 07/03/2015 09:46

Well done everyone!

I am chuffed beyond words...
Start weight ? (No scales)
Week 1 11st 11lb
Week 2 11st 7lb (-4lb)
That is so so awesome. And motivation is ever I needed it!

RunningKatie · 07/03/2015 17:12

Fab results everyone! I am off to the spa tomorrow, got an afternoon tea booked so Monday's weigh in may not be pretty.
