Anyone need to lose over 4st and want to befriend me?

I'm starting (again) after 10 years of being miserable and overweight, in that time I have been up and down like a yoyo but never actually getting anywhere. It's the same 1-2 stone that goes on and off all the time.

I need to initially lose 4st 4lb which will take me to 14st (yes I am over 18stSad) I know 14st still sounds massive to loads but I'm just under 6ft and it's the weight I always remember feeling my most comfortable at years ago so thought that would be a good goal to start with.

I will admit to being an absolute pig, I can happily eat all day and even though I am actually clued up on healthy eating my brain seems to think the fattening food doesn't count if I eat it in private Hmm

I'm 110% determined this time, I could probably have most of the weight of by summer and actually be a new happier person for the first time in years so this is my motivation. That and the fact that I would not go on a ride at a local theme park last week or go in the souvenir photo because of what I look like and I was worried the bar would not close, I'm letting my dc down Sad

I've joined ww online which I know works for me as long as I stick to it so here goes. Anyone else have the same to lose? Seems to be so many around here needing to lose 1-2 stone which obviously seems loads to them but it's a drop in the ocean compared to what I need to lose.

Hello!!

I think I have more to lose plus I'm shorter than you. I'm too afraid to weigh myself at the moment.

I've lost weight before, but always regained it plus more. So so angry at myself and its stopping me from doing so many things including having children.

I'm not sure how to even start tbh.

Onamissionfor2015 · 06/01/2015 18:59

Have you ever looked at Ww white? To do it online is only £30 for three months just now and if you have a iphone the app is brilliant.

I'm thinking of it more as a three month challenge just now since I have already paid upfront so hopefully this will give me a bit staying power rather than giving up a few weeks in like I usually do.

It's so hard though, I'm having to constantly think about what I'm doing as I'm so used to eating all day.

I have lost 4 stone and have another 6 to go really but 4 would take me to 12 stone, which make me about a size 14, so positively svelte like compared to my largest size!
I'm on a vlcd though, it's the only diet I can remain motivated on!

whothehellknows · 06/01/2015 19:03

I've probably got that much to lose or near to it. (no scales) Not being careful with my eating, combined with not getting much exercise has taken it's toll. I need to get it sorted, and preferably by the summer.

Onamissionfor2015 · 06/01/2015 19:05

Summer is a big motivator for me at the moment, would love to step out on hot days without having a cover up over me or not having sweaty boobs at the end of the day Blush or being able to enjoy a day at the beach without thinking everyone is staring at me

Will have a look onamission, I know I want to do it, I know I must, just dont such feel like it tonight! Is it easy to get to grips with? I struggle when tired (always) or busy and end up reverting to bad things.

Well done ashtray, I've done a vlcd twice before, always lost but never kept it off. You sound like you are doing fabulously though.

butwhythistimemummy · 06/01/2015 19:06

Yes, 3 stone is my initial target but really need to lose 4! I'm about your height and 14 is my first target too. It's the weight I felt comfortable to get on with life at. Not quite sure what I weigh as have no scales at the moment. Trying a week of detox and then weigh after Christmas. I'm using MFP and sticking to 1200 calories...I too think eating in private makes the calories not count...madness! Three months is a good target and then restock options.

Onamissionfor2015 · 06/01/2015 19:10

I think it's very simple whitesplodge, once you get your head round the points the tracker does it all for you.

For example I get 41 points per day (everyone gets a different amount based on weight/height etc) but everyone also gets 49 weekly points which you can either use all at once or split them down. Today I've had

Weetabix and skimmed milk 6pts
Roast chicken and couscous salad 8ptd
Salmon and sweet potato chips 13pts
2 digestive biscuits 4pts
Fruit 0pts

So I'm under my points but feel like I've eaten loads.

Yes I'd be over the moon at 14 notwhy, I would feel "normal" at that weight then could take things from there

Ashtray that's an amazing loss so far, at what point did other people start to notice and comment? I'm not sure what a lvcd diet is?

butwhythistimemummy · 06/01/2015 19:14

Yes, and I know I can face the summer at that weight which would be great! Do you have a weight loss aim for the first three months?

littlemissangrypants · 06/01/2015 19:20

I would love to join in. I have had huge issues with binging and food in general so I need to lose the weight slowly and healthily. This time it will be a real lifestyle change with eating new foods, veg and moving more.
Myfitnesspal is keeping me acountable and sensible so I dont end up starving myself. At the end of last year I was on over 18st but have managed to get to just under this today. If possible I would love to get down to around 9-10st.

Onamissionfor2015 · 06/01/2015 19:21

Ideally I would LOVE to lose 2 1/2 stone, I know it sounds a lot but I'm hoping it comes of a bit faster the first few weeks.

I have a family wedding in 6 weeks so would love the 1st stone (at least) of by then and then as much of the other stone and a half as possible after. I'm not too bothered though just trying to think that it needs to come of one way or another and would rather spend this whole year losing slowly than starting next year feeling as I do now

Onamissionfor2015 · 06/01/2015 19:23

That's just in the first three month, would be amazing if I could hit the 4st mark by july/aug time

OK, I'm in. Not 100% sure how, bit I need to be in.

Will have a proper look at WW. Onamission did you make your lunch today, or was it bought ready made? Sounds bad bit I need as much help as possible when it comes to diet food - toouch faffing preparing weord md wonderful things and I lose interest.

whitesplodge · 06/01/2015 19:43

Sorry that last message didn't make much sense!!

DoItTooJulia · 06/01/2015 19:44

I'm in.

I've lost just shy of 3 stone, 4 to go, but like you op, that puts me at 13 stone.

I am 6 ft too, so my ultimate goal is 12 and a half, but I'd feel like I'd adchieved something amazing when those scales hit 13 something.

I've lost the three stone doing 5:2 (well it's my own version of it, but it's working, so I'm sticking with it).

It's been hard over Christmas but I'm back on it and really looking forward to summer clothes shopping !

FullOfChoc · 06/01/2015 19:47

I am in a very similar position to you. I would be overjoyed to be 14 stone! I am exercises and using my fitness pal, but at the moment I am really struggling to leave the left christmas sweets alone...

GirlsonFilm · 06/01/2015 20:17

I got on the scales yesterday and came in at 16'2 so four stone would be great. I'm doing mfp and mapmy walk, I've got a big birthday in June so have a definite aim.
Full I finished the Xmas chocs on Sunday so temptation has been removed (or swallowed)

FillWithWineToActivate · 06/01/2015 21:40

I am in, I need to lose 4-5 stone too! Before Christmas I was really struggling but I am determined at the moment. I really need some weight loss buddies to swap recipes with and we can encourage / spur each other on!

smellyfishead · 06/01/2015 22:09

im in. im 5"2 and 15st so a good 4-5st to lose to be at a healthy weight. lost 3.5 back a couple of years ago but had a massive tradegy in my life and a year later it had all gone back onSad
I lost that in 7 months, combo of daily fitness dvd, 3 classes a week and gym after classes. was hard work but I changed fast!
whats holding me back this time is a verruca on the ball of my left foot along with Plantar fasciitis in both heels which is really painful and not making me want to exercise as it hurts when I walk- its a catch 22 as losing weight will prob make the PF go away! Am going to go to dr and speak to her about it, hoping she may prescribe me osristat to help give me a kick start whist my feet are so painful.

Anabundanceof · 07/01/2015 01:06

Can I be in too - I'm 5ft 8 and 18.5stone

butwhythistimemummy · 07/01/2015 06:40

I started the morning with Lemon water and then using MFP to stick to 1200 calories a day. I have found that really motivating so far. Does anyone want to join up on MFP and use that too! I turn 30 in May and I want to feel good about shopping for a dress!

whothehellknows · 07/01/2015 06:41

Has anyone tried a fitbit? I keep thinking that having one would help motivate me by showing how much I move, etc. and it comes with a food log as well. But I don't really want to pay out the money if it's not worth it.
