New Year, New Thread #16 For Paul McKenna's Losers!!! He Can Make Us Thin!!!

Solo · 01/01/2015 13:03

Happy New Year Everyone!
Welcome to thread #16 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied

HELPFUL TIPS!
Lots of chewing; at least 20 chews per mouthful.
Ask yourself "am I really hungry?" have a glass of water to see if it's real hunger or just thirst; wait 15 or 20 minutes if you can, before eating something to see if it's 'gone off' after a drink. Listen for your 'full signal' and leave at least a mouthful on your plate at every meal. Eat your favourite thing from your plate first so that if you get to the full signal, but have your favourite food still sitting there, you aren't going to 'make room' for it because you love it, it will have already gone.
Admire something about yourself every day in the mirror.
Try to move more; dance around the living room or walk to school...use the stairs...small things, but good things! :)

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain; we just need to change how we treat food and ourselves.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose; it's very doable.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2015 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Hypnotic Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to Freedom From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Ps. Could we all try to sign in at least every few days so that someone is 'there?' We have established that it's no fun talking to ourselves and also that if there is a new joiner, it's good to say 'hello and welcome' to them too.

Ok! Let's Focus and See Ourselves wearing that body we desire! learning to love ourselves is an important daily step, so let's become LOSERS in order to be WINNERS!!! Smile 1lb at a time....

Solo what do you think about my post re cakes?

Solo · 10/05/2015 00:57

I can't have them here Millie if they are here, I will eat them without control. They call to me. I don't bake atm, I have too much else to do here...perhaps one day, but not now.
Dd will be fine; she loves grapes and fruit in general, so grapes will be our cake :) .

Milllli · 10/05/2015 22:18

Have you tried the techniques Paul McKenna suggests to deal with this so you can free yourself from the control cakes have over you.

Solo · 10/05/2015 23:15

The aversion technique? Yes, I have; not recently though. I need to reset.

Just wondered really if it had worked for you before. I love grapes. I pop them in the freezer and eat them like sweeties. Im going to re boot my cd this week and be extra mindful as well as doing weights.

Solo · 11/05/2015 07:33

It worked for me after the seminar. That was quite a few years ago now though...yes, frozen grapes!! yum!!

If there's anybody still there - Hello.
I was reading through some of the threads and impressed to see you've had some good results.
I was wondering if this method would stop me eating just for the sake of it?
I don't eat because I'm hungry, I eat just because there's stuff around. Also, is there an opinion as to whether the I can make you thin book is better/worse than the gastric band book?

wrinkles22 · 21/05/2015 17:30

Hi to everyone, sorry had posted on a different thread as didn't realise this one was here so copied my story over.

I am new to this and I know there has been a lot of threads on this recently on here but just thought I would share my experience with anyone that's interested.

I thought I would write a review on Paul McKenna Gastric Band Hypnosis.

After losing over 6 stone with WW and struggling as put nearly two back on and never want to be back at that point, thought id try his book/DVD.

Followed it to the tea and read the book twice and then on Monday night went into the spare room and put in my earphones and listened to the pre-op then the surgery and relaxed and started to follow his instructions of counting down, I felt very strange very relaxed my body felt almost tingly, but could here everything he said and remained awake but so relaxed it felt like I was dreaming, although I could hear everything and opened my eyes once or twice to make sure I was definitely awake its was a strange but dreamy feeling, when at the end he counted down from 10 I opened my eyes and felt lovely and relaxed.

I went to bed shortly after that and had a great sleep, as usually not a good sleeper, got up for work the following morning at 4.30 and felt quiet energetic, breakfast time came and went didn't feel hungry so never ate then about 11 o clock felt slightly peckish and a bit light headed as have a active job so had a small bowl of cereal ( in a sugar size bowl) finished it didn't feel overly full like I thought I would, but not hungry either, as the day went on I was at work until 7.pm so about 3.pm had a small sandwich on my break usually id have 4 slices of bread as its small Warburton's wholemeal bread but only made two with a slice of turkey and salad in them, and a packet of small quavers crisps, when my day was over went home my OH had already had his tea I didn't feel hungry at all and had nothing else.

I had drunk water through the day, and usually I live for meal times but think that's sometimes my problem is that i eat because we have been programmed to eat Breakfast then Lunch then Dinner even when at times I probably not hungry and was eating for eating sake as its just habit, like the book says eat when hungry stop when full so I am going to try this method and see what happens, I did get weighed on the night I listened to the DVD so will post again soon to let anyone interested know.

Wombat I have done and do both. I eat mindfully but installed the band about two years ago and I have to say that it has worked for me ever since. I find it really hard to keep eating after a couple of mouthfuls BUT it has to be the most delicious food, full fat and everything I love. I don't eat anything that I don't love. I follow the rules from ICMYT and have done for about 10 years (mindful eating).

wrinkles well done on installing the band. Hope it works as well for you as it has for me Smile

Solo · 22/05/2015 01:38

Hello! welcome to the thread!!

Wombat I am a bit like you atm. I need and more importantly I want to stop the eating for no good reason. Let's try it together on here :)
Wrinkles it's good to hear of your wonderful success on day 1 :) very encouraging! and Hollii :) you are inspirational!

Please! do all keep posting; we are a bit sleepy on here right now, but usually, it's a busy thread.

Thanks for joining in and waking me up!! Thanks

Haven't posted on here in a while. Epic fail for me.

Struggling with depression and cycle of work, kids, housework, work, kids, housework. Things just getting me down.

So have hardly listened to the CD/app or read the book.

i have very little time for myself and have been overeating Blush

Wondering about seeing a "real" hypnotist to try and tackle both problems, I just don't know what to do. Will post on mental health board too.

Solo · 22/05/2015 09:51

Hi emmi sorry you haven't felt great. Me too, but it's not failure...just a blip. You can get back onto the right path ~ so can I :).

I had thought about a one to one therapist too actually. Don't know if I will, but I know how positive the PMK seminar was for me, so it could actually work well.
Keep posting :) Thanks

thanks solo - been sleeping or eating a lot at the moment, i hate depression, hard cycle to break and i have battled with for 10 years now since DC born

Looked on the PMK website for details of the next seminar, looks to be in October in London. Haven't checked the date or time yet but unless weekend or half term, no chance of me going.

Wombat22 · 22/05/2015 18:36

Thanks for the replies. I don't have either book yet but will try and get them over the weekend. I'll keep hanging out here if you don't mind and update when I start. I usually eat low carb high fat but have dropped full face into carbs recently and can't seem to stop Blush
Good luck to you emmie I hope the light breaks through for you soon Thanks

Solo · 23/05/2015 11:36

Emmie I understand. I've had depression many times over the years and the last time I wasn't even aware of it, I just wasn't 'nice' :( it was a 'low level' depression and I only realised I had it when it started to lift.
I have though, had ME/CFS for 15/16 years and it has had a big impact on me as a person. I was fit and well, enjoyed the gym and walked at a 100 miles an hour. Now? well, now I just want to eat. But it has to stop; I have to change or I'll end up being my Mum and I don't want that.

The seminar I went to was, I am sure on a Saturday. The tickets are expensive.

Wombat :) you are very welcome here!

I'm glad you are both here actually, as I was teetering on the edge of leaving the thread. Thanks

Hollii · 23/05/2015 13:52

With not losing weight?

emmief77 · 23/05/2015 21:09

thanks all... now wondering whether I might be heading towards menopause!!

I've not had a period for 18 months, GP not interested and I've kinda got used to it... As already said, been feeling low, but today out shopping and felt faint, dizzy and had hot flush. Felt so bad had to sit down.. Anyway have posted on the menopause board for advice...

never rains but it pours... ho hum

Hollii · 23/05/2015 21:11

I would imagine you are menopausal em if it's been eighteen months.Smile

Solo · 24/05/2015 02:32

Yes and other stuff too Milli

18 months no period? assuming it's the menopause, you probably wont see Aunty again. Your GP needs a kick. If I am reading your nn right, you are only 38, GP should have sent you for a blood test at the very least! I'd be demanding one at your age! Thanks

Hollii · 24/05/2015 12:45

Solo I am in the same. So much going on. It's hard isn't it.

Hollii · 24/05/2015 12:47

emm only 38? Is that natural in your family.
