New Year, New Thread #16 For Paul McKenna's Losers!!! He Can Make Us Thin!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!
Welcome to thread #16 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied

HELPFUL TIPS!
Lots of chewing; at least 20 chews per mouthful.
Ask yourself "am I really hungry?" have a glass of water to see if it's real hunger or just thirst; wait 15 or 20 minutes if you can, before eating something to see if it's 'gone off' after a drink. Listen for your 'full signal' and leave at least a mouthful on your plate at every meal. Eat your favourite thing from your plate first so that if you get to the full signal, but have your favourite food still sitting there, you aren't going to 'make room' for it because you love it, it will have already gone.
Admire something about yourself every day in the mirror.
Try to move more; dance around the living room or walk to school...use the stairs...small things, but good things! :)

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain; we just need to change how we treat food and ourselves.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose; it's very doable.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2015 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Hypnotic Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to Freedom From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Ps. Could we all try to sign in at least every few days so that someone is 'there?' We have established that it's no fun talking to ourselves and also that if there is a new joiner, it's good to say 'hello and welcome' to them too.

Ok! Let's Focus and See Ourselves wearing that body we desire! learning to love ourselves is an important daily step, so let's become LOSERS in order to be WINNERS!!! Smile 1lb at a time....

Thinking about it you have probably just eaten more starchy stuff and sugar and the weight on the scale will be nothing more than water weight which will disappear on those very scales in a few days. Happens to me a lot

Solo · 13/04/2015 00:25

Welcome Egg :)

Yes Milli* and I gained 1lb, but it zipped up in the last few days, but my raincoat which is always taut across my arse, is really comfy! don't understand that unless the said arse has dropped!

OP posts:
Milllli · 13/04/2015 03:23

? What zipped up. As I said, it's probably just water weight, not real fat weight. It will be gone soonGrin

Solo · 13/04/2015 09:26

My weight zipped up. Will weigh in a mo.

OP posts:
Milllli · 13/04/2015 22:08

How did it go.

Solo · 13/04/2015 22:42

Yes, it's ok.

EggInABap · 15/04/2015 16:52

Ok so I weighed myself this morning (using the weight watchers digital scales which I highly recommend!!) and I've lost 5.5lbs since last Wednesday. I'm so happy! Can't believe how little I am eating, my lunch every day consists of the previous nights dinner that I didn't manage to finish!

I convinced DH to listen to the trance last night, not sure how effective it will have been as he was snoring 5 mins in! If I can get him on board our shopping budget will be cut in half Grin

Hope you're all doing well!

Solo · 16/04/2015 16:17

That is fabulous Egg well done you! remind me which trance you are listening to please?

OP posts:
EggInABap · 17/04/2015 10:47

Thanks Solo!

I have listened to the gastric band trance once (but kept being interrupted by evil gerbils running on their wheel) and the freedom from emotional eating trance twice so far.

I really think the original ICMYT trance is the best but I can't find the disc!

EggInABap · 17/04/2015 10:48

Bluecarrot how are you getting on?

bubulix · 20/04/2015 03:56

Well I come back from my all inclusive break late tonight and sadly the food (and drink) has been too good to resist and haven't been eating mindfully - however I'm consoling myself that most 'normal' people overindulge on holiday but lose it quickly by returning to normal eating when home so that's what I intend to do! Back to mindful eating tomorrow xxx

Solo · 21/04/2015 09:49

That's a great way of thinking bubu :) glad you enjoyed yourself!

Seem to be stuck again myself.

How is everyone else doing? and Milli you are most quiet m'dear! everything ok?

I have been most quiet too. We've had a sad event happen. It's upset me greatly :(

OP posts:
EggInABap · 22/04/2015 18:26

Hey Solo, what happened? Hope the upset has passed.

I had an argument with DH yesterday, when I'm upset I do struggle a bit.

I didn't weigh myself again today, I'm going to stick to every 2 weeks as per PM's suggestion. Haven't listened to the trance for a while so will put it on tonight for a refresher.

Solo · 23/04/2015 00:15

No, still upset. Can't say on here.

Sorry about what happened to your son's friend. Just be there for him Solo. When he needs you he will reach out. Just tell him your there for him x

Solo · 26/04/2015 23:53

Thank you Milli

Not doing great atm. Got lots on and just trying to get to grips with it all.

How's everyone else doing?

OP posts:
Milllla · 28/04/2015 22:14

Foodwise Im good. Using my gym. Have lost some weight and muscles are toning up well.
Emotionally not so good either with some really hard things going on.

Milllli · 29/04/2015 01:26

How did my "i" turn into an "a". Interesting.

Solo · 01/05/2015 14:46

Where Milli ? I can't see it!
You sound very good with the weightloss and toning. :) I have had several dreadful days of comfort eating; I hope I can fit into my dress tomorrow for Dd's First Communion!!

Ds seems to have got to grips with the loss of his friend... I on the other hand seem to have taken it very personally indeed; I'm even dreaming about the lad! poor love :( it's so sad.

OP posts:
Solo · 05/05/2015 00:16

Just to let you know that I did indeed fit into my dress. It actually felt a little looser on me as it zipped up! the weekend was good all in all. My eating has been ok, but not great! I have though, told Dd that I am no longer going to buy cakes or anything like that. Whilst I know we can eat anything we want to, I don't appear to have a moderation button and it is like a brain worm calling to me all the time. I am going to eat peanuts and walnuts if I have the need to.

How is everyone else? :)

OP posts:
Milllli · 05/05/2015 10:18

Brilliant SoloGrin
I'm ok food wise. Maintaining. Emotionally finding things difficult but stable. Have you fully allowed cake into your life? Made your own really yummy ones filled with amazing things? Maybe I'm missing something but mist people find when they allow everything without guilt then a small piece suffices. By banning all cakes you could give your daughter the message that cakes are bad food.

EggInABap · 05/05/2015 16:37

After a couple of great weeks I have been really really struggling since last wednesday- I weighed myself and had stayed the same and since then I've been on a week long binge Hmm.

Don't know how to knock myself out of it and get back on an even keel. I need to listen to the cd again, haven't done it for ages. This is what I always do- start off having a great few weeks then it all goes to pot.

I have got a lot going on at the moment too and I am SUCH an emotional eater, I find it hard not to binge when I'm feeling so sad and defeated.

To make things worse I've got a girls holiday soon with a group of size 8 beauties, can't find any nice clothes as at size 16 nothing looks good and let's not even go there about bikini issues.

Sorry this has just been one long moan, well done for fitting in your dress solo!

EggInABap · 05/05/2015 16:38

Think I may need to take the lead from you Milli and start exercising, I always used to feel so good afterwards but that was when I was slim and fit, even the thought of doing anything now scares me!

Milllli · 05/05/2015 22:21

Im doing weights Egg because they seem to be better for building muscles and burning fat than cardio every could. My clothes are fitting so much better than they were 7 months ago. I can fit into a lower size and that is what is keeping me going. I try not to take much notice of the scales because they do not tell the full story at all.
Egg binging after getting on the scales and not seeing a loss is understandable. The thing is though you have been staying the same weight and not gaining. That is brilliant. Now had you gained half a stone then you may have had to address some issues but if you stayed the same then you are definitely on the right track. Just need some adjustments in your hunger signals and maybe do some light weights using all your muscle groups.

NamasteGirl · 07/05/2015 17:32

May I join in? I've acquired a little spare tyre in the last few months by eating too much cake over Xmas and having homemade treats in the fridge that I'm always picking at (stopped now!). I don't need to lose much, just half a stone. Hope this works. Started today. Noticed this morning that when I usually always have my breakfast I wasn't actually hungry, so I left it for another hour and then ate some granola mindfully. Wasn't peckish again til lunchtime when I had a few mint poppets and a small tuna sandwich, eaten slowly again. Felt like I needed a little something so made a banana smoothie later on, but only needed half of it. Just made a chicken bhuna for tea, put less on my plate, ate slowly and left a bit of rice. Amazing how little food you actually need v what you fancy!!!
