New Year, New Thread #16 For Paul McKenna's Losers!!! He Can Make Us Thin!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!
Welcome to thread #16 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied

HELPFUL TIPS!
Lots of chewing; at least 20 chews per mouthful.
Ask yourself "am I really hungry?" have a glass of water to see if it's real hunger or just thirst; wait 15 or 20 minutes if you can, before eating something to see if it's 'gone off' after a drink. Listen for your 'full signal' and leave at least a mouthful on your plate at every meal. Eat your favourite thing from your plate first so that if you get to the full signal, but have your favourite food still sitting there, you aren't going to 'make room' for it because you love it, it will have already gone.
Admire something about yourself every day in the mirror.
Try to move more; dance around the living room or walk to school...use the stairs...small things, but good things! :)

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain; we just need to change how we treat food and ourselves.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose; it's very doable.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2015 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Hypnotic Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to Freedom From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Ps. Could we all try to sign in at least every few days so that someone is 'there?' We have established that it's no fun talking to ourselves and also that if there is a new joiner, it's good to say 'hello and welcome' to them too.

Ok! Let's Focus and See Ourselves wearing that body we desire! learning to love ourselves is an important daily step, so let's become LOSERS in order to be WINNERS!!! Smile 1lb at a time....

Im sorry emmie. In my last post to you I mentioned that I don't know what the apps say/do. If its just listening to the hypnosis again then yes, do that. But you do need to follow his golden rules too and read the book.

Solo · 28/03/2015 00:51

Beginning of May. I have no idea what I will fit into wear yet. Don't know if I am in the zone, but I'm trying. Glad you are there though!

emmie I don't know either; sorry.

Milllli · 28/03/2015 03:19

Solo I might not be in the zone tomorrow, who knows but I had a little moment when I realised that to wear the clothes I would like to and lose a stone and a half that I have to be much more mindful. Well for now anyway. I've also found that my hot flushes reduce so much when I'm not overeating or eating as often.Shock

emmief77 · 28/03/2015 10:44

no worries Millli or Solothanks anyway Flowers

tbh, i'm feeling pretty low at the moment ... am considering a VLCD

Having a pretty stressful time and nasty comments from so called friends about my size .. saw my reflection and cried

Milllli · 28/03/2015 12:26

Emm In my opinion doing that will end up back where you are now. Solo and I don't have the app but we have book and cd. You need to get the book to understand how this mindful eating works. It's about taking control of what you eat, when and why. VLCD are diets and don't teach you how to listen to your body. This way is body led calorie control. It's not a quick fix and it takes time to master but it works. It's not a quick fix. I'm sorry your having such a bad time about your weight. Diets are the cause of weight problems cause you end up binging after being deprived. No depriving with mindful eating just learning to take back control.

Milllli · 28/03/2015 12:33

Emm Don't pay good money to a company that makes money from your distress. You have tried all the diets but you are looking for a magic cure. There isn't one. It all comes down to you and how much you eat in the end. You probably have emotional disordered. eating patterns which you need to work on.

emmief77 · 28/03/2015 13:18

Millli and Solo - do you both follow I Can Make You Thin?

Milllli · 28/03/2015 14:12

Yes. That is what we follow. But I have inserted the gastric band and also have read his emotional eating book.

Milllli · 28/03/2015 15:11

Emmwhy not use the gym that you are already paying good money for and eat less by doing this.

emmief77 · 28/03/2015 15:30

Millli - been to a couple of classes, but have been feeling so depressed and fat just haven't felt like it - bought the Gastric Band app as I thought that it would be easy to listen to in bed using my phone - When/how do you listen to the CD?

Milllli · 28/03/2015 15:49

Paul McKenna highly recommends that you read the book before listening to trance. The gastric band can help but you need to relearn how to eat like a person with no eating/weight issues. Emm. it sounds like you are very unhappy with the way you look. This method is about legalising all food again. Eating whatever you want but only when truly hungry. The gastric band is an aid to help you. It sounds like you are looking for a quick fix so you can be slim as soon as possible and are going from one diet to the next.

emmief77 · 28/03/2015 19:13

yeh you are right Millli I suppose I am jumping around diets in order to find a quick fix.

Solo I've just read your webchat with PMK, he answered your question! - Reading through the chat, I think his Freedom from Emotional Eating book sounds like it has been written for me, so am going to buy it

Milllli · 28/03/2015 19:27

I did mention that you may have emotional eating patterns earlier Emm. I understand your struggle as I have suffered from this all my life. It is always tempting to diet but I know and have to remind myself sometimes, that if I go on a diet it will end in a binge. You are not alone. Smile

bubulix · 28/03/2015 20:29

Sorry I've been awol for a while! I went off the system for whatever reason but am back in the right frame of mind. I've bought the Freedom from Emotional Eating which has really helped refocus me - the only thing I'd say Emm is that if I hadn't read I Can Make You Think first I don't know if I'd know enough about the system just from Emotional Eating but that's just my opinion.

Milllli · 28/03/2015 20:43

I think your right bubulix. Reading I can Make You Thin is essential to understanding how diets fool is and create disordered eating that is then hard to break out of.
Welcome back by the way Smile

emmief77 · 29/03/2015 08:39

okay thanks, Amazon, here i come!

Solo · 29/03/2015 13:49

Hi ladies. emm I was fortunate to be given tickets to see PMK and it was a sensational day. It started working by lunchtime! for whatever reason, I have not done so well in recent times, but I will never ever diet again.

I am currently full of cold! came on yesterday and I thought I would pass out.

Bought Dd's Communion dress, but I have no idea what I will wear! ugh! the very thought! but I have a month and in theory could lose a stone by then. :)

Hope you are all well. Thanks

Solo......poor you. Colds can make you feel really down cant they. Glad you got your daughters dress. One less thing to think about. Now what about you?

Solo · 29/03/2015 19:45

Milllli · 29/03/2015 19:56

awwwww. Passing it down.

bubulix · 30/03/2015 06:22

Hello everyone! Day 3 of mindful eating and it's going well :-) Was just rereading the last few pages of posts - can't remember who it was, sorry, but someone mentioned about 'spending £6 on lunch and wasting it by not eating'.

I know it's more normal in America (with tinfoil swans etc) but most places will have containers to take leftovers home so never be afraid to ask if you can get your leftovers wrapped up. The worst they can say is no.

Solo · 30/03/2015 13:05

When I started leaving food, I found it hard to get my head around the waste as I was brought up by a clear your plate/waste not, want not mother. But I turned my thinking into "well, if I ate it, it would be gone and if I bin it, it's gone anyway" or just pretend you've eaten it or fridge it for later.

My appetite has been down due to illness anyway I suspect. Silver lining and all that Grin

OP posts:
Milllli · 30/03/2015 14:03

Yes. I often tell myself. that I am not a bin. If I'm not hungry and eat it anyway then I am being a bin.Grin

achoo · 30/03/2015 16:59

Hi all. I'm really interested in giving this a go having failed on pretty much every diet going and making myself miserable as a result. I've had hypnotherapy for anxiety a few years ago and found it very helpful.

I'm a bit confused though as to which books and CD's of the I Can Make you Thin/Gastric Band/Emotional Eating I need and in which order to use them. Can anyone help me out please?
