Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Dp and I had a nice low carb dinner tonight. I made up a dish with chicken, onion mushroom almonds stock and greek yoghurt. Ate it with creamed carrot/cauliflower mix. So tasty!

Coming off dairy should ease your eczema and asthma , cheese , yogurt. Anything that's mucus forming.

Have you tried goats milk, sheeps cheese, goat cheese.

If ever you get a snotty cold cut all dairy. If anyone suffers with ibs, no dairy should help with too much mucus in the lower gut, colon.

dancingwitch · 17/01/2015 21:03

FSC - your dinner sounds delicious

My motivation for getting back on the wagon this morning was putting on my skinny jeans for the first time since Boxing Day. My legs look like sausages in them as they are so tight.

Dowser · 17/01/2015 22:04

We had stir fried liver tonight with onions and green pepper and rice.

Not everyone's cup of tea I know but quite low calorie and very tasty.

Then I got my Hoover out and while making OH and grandson chocolate cake with custard, I started hoovering up the crumbs, the edges and the chocolate swirls on the top.

I have counted it in though.

Just can't help myself.

I could have gone on until I wrecked the plan so I'm glad I stopped when I did.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 18/01/2015 16:07

I've heard people say they had to pour salt over left overs to stop themselves picking. Could work?

What do you think of this dress? Mine's second wedding in registry office so think it'll be ok?

That's beautiful. Sort of thing I'm after. Is it long or 3/4?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 18/01/2015 17:07

It's knee length I think? Anyway I bought it and it was £99 Grin

5madthings · 18/01/2015 17:56

Gorgeous! The top is like mine! My bottom is more 50's style and I will have a petticoat.

Bargain price!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 18/01/2015 18:01

Thanks, I wanted a 50s style but liked this one so thought I'd go for it. Mind you it's early days Wink

And how does it fit? Or was it online?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 18/01/2015 19:45

Online. It'll either fit or be too tight. If It's too tight it soon won't be Grin If it fits I'll have to have it taken in end of May perhaps?

I'm guessing it'll be a bit tight for now. But at £99 it's not a huge risk.

I'm getting more worried about my table decorations not. I don't want balloons but bunting, fairy lights, tea lights on table, runners and flowers. I need to get myself sorted.

Food wise I had portion cottage pie. Tonight I'm doing pork in mushrooms and cider. Dp and I will have some sauted cabbage with it. Dss rice and veg.

Now not not haha.

OP posts:
Dowser · 18/01/2015 20:01

I'm not a lover of balloons but love bunting. I usually make my own but cheated last Xmas and bought some Christmas bunting as we had a sneaky week in Lanzarote just before Christmas and I ran out of time.

I might make some to go on the palm trees.

Fairy lights, very pretty.

I'm doing ok with my food today. Had Sunday roast.

Did you get my pm btw

Such a lot of people aren't posting. I wonder if they've fallen off the wagon already.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 18/01/2015 20:05

Yes I replied did you not get it?

My sister has a sewing machine might get her to do some too?

Palm trees? Is that to go with your theme?

You might have to tell me where to look. Lol. I find this site so different from ones I've used before.

We are getting married on the beach.

Dowser · 18/01/2015 20:13

I did acres for my 60 th. all polka dot and got matching balloons to drape over the bunting. The venue had little white fairy lights wrapped round the pillars. It was sooooo pretty.

We had a fifties theme. Fantastic night. Last summer went to try my dress on and I think we got it zipped up but couldn't breathe in it :-(

That will be another test to show I've lost weight if I try it on at the end of the month.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 18/01/2015 20:14

Oh that's (beach) so much better than what was in my head Grin

Are you on your mobile or laptop/tablet? You look to the top right of mumsnet, where it says mumsnet there's an envelope with my message in it!

Wow that sounds great. I love vintage themes.

I was also thinking that quite a few posters seem to have disappeared. Please don't the rest of you disappear as this thread is helping keep me motivated.
Today wasn't great but it was never going to be as we went to a friends for Sunday lunch. Roast followed by a steamed sponge pudding with ice cream. However, no breakfast, only two slices of toast & marmite for supper and I did make it to aqua this morning.
Your themes sound great and, FSC, I like your dress. Mine is also short & even more of a bargain at £36! I really like it but a bridal end of line shop has opened up near here so I may go in there & try on some others.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 18/01/2015 23:09

I wonder if we should start another thread?

Thanks dancing, You really did get a bargain. I just hope mine fits or almost fits?

I'm not going anywhere. It's really helping me to witter on here and I haven't gone over 1300 cals since I started on jan 1. Probably only a few days over 1200 slightly and ome days less. On myfatsecret I was awarded 1300 anyway.

Here's OH' s quick recipe, tasty fairly low calorie , filling pea and ham soup

It's always a problem as to what to have for Sunday evening as we've had a Sunday roast in the afternoon.

I fancied soup and as we had none , he went and made this for me. Serves two and probably just under 200 cals a bowl

A bag of frozen soup veg. Carrots, leeks, turnips, onions that sort of thing
1 pot of pease pudding. Aldi's just contains lentils and salt
2 large slices of ham , chopped, shredded whatever

Pop into a pan of hot water the veg. When soft liquidise. Then add pease pudding and ham

Salt to taste. A few herbs if you think necessary.

Makes a lovely thick tasty soup.

We have a Bamix. So you literally take off heat, put the Bamix in the pan and in seconds you have thick, puréed veg that's still piping hot ready for the p pudding and ham .

Dowser · 18/01/2015 23:19

I don't think there's a need to start another thread. Maybe we could pm about 5 or 6 people each and ask how they are doing.

Off to bed now. So will see your thoughts later.

Goodnight everyone. Have a good day tomorrow too.

SoonToBeMrsB · 19/01/2015 09:17

Morning all, I don't tend to be near my iPad too much at weekends, hence my radio silence. I did have some chocolate over the weekend but it was all tracked and allowed. I haven't done as much exercise as I would have liked but I had my first ever roller derby training session yesterday and I am aching in places I didn't know I had! My inner thighs are so sore and tight, squats should be a barrel of laughs at bootcamp tonight...

B: Shredded Wheat with banana, coffee

L: 2x multigrain crackerbreads with tomato and basil tuna, carrot sticks with houmous, 2x tangerines

D: Lemon sole with homemade oven wedges and 1tbsp brown sauce

S: Apple, WW yoghurt

gotredonyou · 19/01/2015 09:47

Morning all, I don't get a chance to be here on the weekends either. It seems I'm doing a mixture of the diets here- Low Gi/carb like you FreakinScaryCaaw and dairy free like you SoonToBeMrsB as I have PCOS and its said to improve the symptoms.

Love the before and after pics Dowser so motivating!!

Had the wedding menu tasting at our venue yesterday, tried to eat small mouthfuls of each choice but not eating dairy was unavoidable. We have chosen bruschetta & pate for starters, Chicken & Lamb for main, strawberry shortcake & banoffee pie for dessert! Everything was presented so lovely but I imagine it may be different on the day catering for 70!

Todays menu-
B- Berry Smoothie with soya yoghurt & flaxseed.
L- Tuna Mayo Salad, Grapes & Nuts.
D- Mince Meat Curry with WM rice. x

FreakinScaryCaaw · 19/01/2015 10:12

Hi all,

Lemon sole sounds delicious Soon. I love fish, need to eat more. In fact you've inspired me to go to a lovely fishmonger in Hartlepool.

gotred glad the tasting went well.

I've had peanuts so far. HM soup for lunch with rye bread. Dinner tonight no idea as yet but dp's home so he can make it. I did last night's pork. Although to be fair he did the spiced red cabbage and creamed swede. We have spiced red cabbage leftover so maybe something with that?

Been out for a walk with the dog but I'll do some aerobic exercise later.

Good luck everyone.
